OESH Shoes

I don't know what to think any more...the fact that she is a mechanical engineer and a doctor...and supposedly started the two biggest biomechanical labs studying human gait...first at harvard then at virginia tech...the science looked good and her explanation of the problems with traditional sneakers and how the big shoe companies didn't listen to her, made me want to support...I bought them probably 7 yrs ago even though I am male, as she told me they were unsure when/if they would do a mens line...she wanted to make sure the male biomechanics didn't require a unique design...she said the data didn't show that yet, so if I could fit in one of their womens sizes I should be all good...and they seemed to have dramatically alleviated my lower back and knee problems; once I got over the breaking in phase of all the muscle and connective tissue of lower core that wasn't use to working in traditionally cushioned sneakers, being sore and getting stronger...My lower core got so much stronger, I graduated from weightlifting and jogging 5 miles or less in them, to playing tennis in them, to doing football and soccer drills in them;...I even tried playing basketball in them, and was fine to my amazement...I wouldn't play more than an hour in them though at my age, even indoors...your soreness level will definitely be higher after than basketball sneakers...I've bought new pairs every year since and bought multiple pairs for multiple women in my family...
I say all that to reiterate that your complaint is completely valid!...I came on the internet thinking I cant be the only one and found your video...the oesh cross trainer has gone through some pretty major design changes over the years, which to my mind shouldn't be happening if the underlying fundamental science hasn't changed...some of which seemingly contradict her papers and previous messaging...it appears she is now being driven by looks, comfort, and manufacturing economics; instead of performance...I'm assuming this is driven by requests from female customers and profits; but that is not what she said she set out to do in the beginning...I am wondering if she is even day to day involved any more...I have kept all the iterations over the years to make sure its not in my head...this latest one is useless for any sports or any activity that requires quick lateral movement...the foot slides inside the shoe and your ankle rolls...like I said I even played basketball in previous versions...this incarnation is useless for anything other than light jogging and weightlifting...I tried to use these as normal and almost injured myself multiple times in the first week...
At these prices, she has some explaining to do...I cant buy any more or recommend these anymore until she addresses why these changes have occurred...shame cause I haven't found a replacement yet

I am a RN currently suffering from left foot plantar fasciitis, and on reading a bloggers recommendation I decided I had to have a pair of the oesh warriors, big mistake which I felt almost instantly. It felt like I was walking on bare feet, and for some reason it felt like the heels were leaning sideways in both feet and I felt no support whatsoever. I immediately switched back to my vionics and the relief to my heel was immediate. These shoes almost made me go back to excruciating pain and it was just beginning to ebb. So it was a big no for me. It should be noted that they have no 60 day return free shipping policy and yes they should.

I ordered two pairs of shoes from Oesh. One pair fit perfectly, the other didn't. The shoes that didn't fit were a half size larger, due to only being available in whole sizes. When I received the shoes I contacted Oesh immediately. I couldn't even get the shoe on it was so short. They offered to do an exchange for a larger size, but I had to pay for shipping. Despite the fact that I ordered a larger size to begin with. I found their customer service unwilling to acknowledge the problem and ended up paying for the shipping. The new ones aren't much better. I really wanted to like this company, but they left a bad taste in my mouth.

I am very impressed with OESH shoes. The science behind their work seems sound to me. The shoe's are wonderful; problems are handled immediately and directly. I've returned to purchase more shoes!
