Quality of work and failure to correct - Contacted [redacted] MANY times to come repair several issues with our Fence, Gates and Arbor. DON'T USE !!I had contacted Off-Duty Fence out of respect for fireman due to my dad was a retired fireman. I thought he would have morals, work ethics and honesty. Man was I so wrong- PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER!! Quality of work and failure to correct - Contacted [redacted] MANY times to come repair several issues with our Fence, Gates and Arbor. The Fence was missing some nails in several boards, The quality of the gate was HORRIBLE from day one and we had issues with 1x4 boards on arbor bowing within 2 weeks. I contacted [redacted] in many ways(text,emails, voice messages). I received one reply saying to text him pictures of my concerns. I did that several times. Only for him to never show his face.Desired SettlementSince he never showed his face, I would like a refund for the amount it will cost me to call a dependable contractor to repair to my satisfaction.Business Response Hello, in response to mr [redacted]'s complaint I would have to say these things.Mr [redacted] seems to have unrealistic expectations of how rough cut sawn lumber looks and behaves in outside elements. We used pine lumber on an arbor we built for him,pine lumber is prone to some warping and cedar lumber was recommended for use by me and my employees but due to the cost mr [redacted] wanted to use the cheaper pine wood which manufacturers and contractors like myself never warranty because at some point will warp and require some maintenance (which me [redacted] was told) when we were finish with the arbor everything looked fantastic (mr [redacted] was happy) and my company or any other contractor or manufacturer can't be responsible for how a natural product such as pine wood behaves in the [redacted] weather after the job is completed (manufacturer of treated pine say that on there product literature). As for the gate, the gate looked great it was actually the best looking gate and fence in the neighborhood ... It had some gaps between the lumber but all fences and gates have some gaps at seams where two pieces of lumber meet. It is unrealistic to expect fence lumber to go together like interior or cabinet lumber due to how it is made and the tools used to work with it (any one will tell u that). I went by and checked for any missing nails and didn't find any. In closing I would say Mr [redacted] got a good job at more than fair price.Please let me know if there are any more steps I need to take ..thank you.[redacted]Off duty fencesSent from my[redacted]
