Review: O'Gorman Marine charged me $ 577.50 to Rebuild Carbs in a 2006 Fishing boat. I was also told by O'Gormans that I had a gas leak they needed to repair and a bent axle on my trailer.

All together I paid them over $ 1500.00 to do repairs on my boat. Later in the year as I had my boat out on the water, my boat was still having hard starting problems and the gas leak

which O'Gormans claimed they fixed was still happening. My boat was then brought to a credible dealer in Rhinelander who said the problem could be fixed simply by rebuilding the Carbs.

I told the mechanic that the Carbs were rebuilt by O Gormans a few months earlier and he informed me that the carbs were not rebuilt a fews months earlier. After authorizing the repairs by

the dealer in Rhinelander, the boat runs perfect with NO gas leak. I contacted O'Gormans, gave them a copy of the invoice from the Rhinelander dealer, and asked them if it was simply possible

that they never did the work ? Also, I then asked them if they really changed the axle on my trailer. My questions were met with insinuations that I was trying to pull something ! The owner was

very belligerent and accusatory. I asked for my money back for the services that were not performed and was met with the owner screaming at me over the phone. I am in the process of checking to

see if they in fact did change the axle on my trailer but have not completed that process. I think the Revdex.com should review this client for poor business practices and potential fraud.Desired Settlement: Simply want a refund of the $ 577.50 for the carb rebuild which was never done. I have not verified if they actually did any of the additional work they claim to have done, but I really

dont have the time to do this. It is a fact that the carbs were not done and the company should refund the money for the work they did not perform.

Review: I took my 1985 Bayliner Capri with 50hp Mercury motor to have service done on the motor. Motor was having issue starting and running was told that the carburetors needed to be serviced/repaired which cost me $750 for the work done. Took the boat out to test the motor and it took a little bit to start once started ran fine for a little while than quit running and wouldn't start again called to let them know I was still having issues with the motor. Took it back to them and had the replace the shift and throttle cables and also replace fuel lines which was what they thought was the issue that repair cost me $550. Took the boat out again and the same thing happened again motor ran for a little bit than quit was able to get it started again after a little bit called and was told it's not there fault the motor ran fine in the tank. So for all the work done I'm in $1300 for repairs and still have a issue with the motorDesired Settlement: I would like them to fix the motor correctly and not jerk me around on it could be this or could be that. Also would like them to take it out on open water and prove they repaired the motor correctly not test it in a tank and say it works fine

Hello. Yes, it is true that we repaired the issues going on with this motor. When it was first brought into our shop, we took a fuel sample and there was dirt in the fuel system and that is how we figured out that the carburetors needed to be repaired. The customer was told this and was told that the fuel tank needed to be pulled and cleaned out. He said no to us doing so and that he would do it himself. The customer continued to take it out and experienced the problems again. The second time it came into our shop, we cleaned out the carburetors again but at no charge and the customer was told again that there was dirt in the system. Again, the customer said that he did not want us to pull the fuel tank and clean it out. Again, he said that he would do it himself. That is why we always write on all carb. rebuild invoices that we were not responsible for dirt in the system. As for the cables, those were clearly a problem because one had snapped. With snapped cables, you cannot go anywhere. We will be happy to fix the problem again, but we need the authorization to pull the tank to clean the dirt out but the customer will need to be charged for that job because we cannot guarantee anything if 1) only half of the job is done and we do not get authorization to finish the job and 2) if someone else other than our shop (and in this case the customer) does or does not do the other half of the job. If there is dirt in the fuel tank, that will run through the system and plug up and ruin the carburetor job. We have also included pictures of what the inside of his carburetors looked like. As you can see for yourself, the dirt in these carbs. was unbelievable. We will be happy to supply other carb. rebuild job invoices that we print the same warning on, he is not being singled out, it is just plain standard operating procedure to print that warning; the only difference between this gentleman and every other carb. rebuild job is that almost every other person has us clean their fuel tank out.

Review: I had to my boat earlier this year to have it ONLY looked over by Pat O'Gorman and explained to him the I not making much money I drive handicap transportation so I don't have a lot of money to put in this boat, that was over the phone when I talked to him, I eventually drop my boat off at his shop, he calls me back bout a week later said it needed some type of STATOR and it will coast almost $500.00 right off the bat, I said it was quite high then I asked him would that resolve the problem and I can pick-up my boat, he said that he would have to fix that first and he will see from there, I bring money to him he fixed that and he just kept Nickel & Dime in me to the tune of $1300.00 he wanted $1500.00 but I stopped payment on a check I wrote to him and the things he put on the invoice I don't believe he done it my propeller on boat had lot's of dings in it (which was not there when he got my boat) he kept my boat over a month I didn't tell him I was coming to pick it up I took off a half day of work to pick to pick my boat, banks stay open longer then he do, when I went to pick up my boat he had it out side no cover on it and it had rained (poured rain) every other day all week, when I got there he NEVER drained my boat it was full of water, he told me he would test the boat but if I wanted him to test it doing the week I would have to pay him cause it will take him away from shop and the way I really see it he close EARLY he should be able to test drive it, so I told him that I will wait cause I didn't want to take it home with out him testing it, he kelp it another week and a half saying weather wasn't favorable finally I got my boat back and got it home he had told me he took it out and it ran fine but it had started miss somewhat, when I got the boat home it wouldn't START so what I did I have someone else to turn engine over I hold the throttle open it kept running but as soon as I let it go it cut OFF it wouldn't stay running AT ALL this guy got my boat charge me all this money and still didn't fix it seems he's just a GOLD DIGGER I NEVER want him to touch my boat ever, he done a TERRIBLE job at best he didn't take reasonable care of my boat HIS WORK AT LEASE WHAT HE SAID HE DONE IS TOTALLY INEXCEPTABLE!!!!!!!!!! Pat O'Gorman sounds VERY CONVICEING but he be saying a lot of things that's JUST NO TRUE!!!!!!!Desired Settlement: I WOULD LIKE AT LEAST HALF MY CASH BACK IT'S CLEAR HE DID'NT DO MUCH AT ALL AND DID'NT TAKE CARE OF MY BOAT AND HE IS A LIAR!

Here

is all of the info on this customer. There is our appeal letter, our

certified letter to him demanding payment, his stop payment check and

our certified mail receipt, his bill of the work we did and two pictures

to show what caused his stator and ignition failure. If you look on

those pictures you will see that metal fragment between the magnets,

that is a hold down

bracket for the trigger (or sensor assy.), the screw that holds that

sensor in place vibrated loose, got between the flywheel and stator

shorting out the stator and entire ignition system as well.Thank you

again so much for taking the time to work with me on this. If you have

any questions on any of this, please fell free to call. Hope you have a

good day!
