I am rejecting this response because: The Suncraft response does not address the reasons I am dis-satisfied with this unprofessional and possibly unethical company I repeatedly complained to my salesman about the quality of the work as it was progressing Suncraft claims that my sunroom is "absolutely beautiful" and they have many photos of the project and "routinely use them to show prospective clients" I have attached photos of my project to substantiate the poor quality claims Can Suncraft provide the photos they are using to show prospective clients? I don't believe those exist. My problem with the timeline of this project begins when Suncraft took my money on 6/10/and didn't begin the project until October I understand that our changes pushed the start date back That is not my issue, my issue is the months you had my money and didn't do any work between June and October and your complete lack of communication during that time I paid the preconstruction payment on 6/10/14.The Suncraft salesman sat at our dining room table and told us CONSTRUCTION would probably begin in to weeks from receipt of the preconstruction payment You had detailed construction plans on 6/ If you have plans different than the copy of those plans that I have, could you please provide the new "detailed construction plans" that took so much time to prepare in the permit process? I don't believe they exist Suncraft never asked me to provide a survey I don't recall anyone from Suncraft measuring my property and drawing a site plan Can Suncraft please provide a copy of the site plan that was drawn? I don't believe it existsSuncraft claims to have taken field measurements to create a diagram submitted to Franklin County Board of Health Can Suncraft provide a copy of the diagram that was created? The Franklin County Health inspector came to my home and said he didn't have enough information from Suncraft to approve the permit Can Suncraft provide a timeline for this month process? The Suncraft salesman told us the construction would probably take weeks The square footage of our sunroom is sqftnot sqftas indicated in the Suncraft response The complicated roof system was not in our original concept, it was suggested by the owner of Suncraft The new rooms are on the same foundation and footprint as the old rooms Suncraft used the existing floor joists in one part of the project It was the Suncraft owner's decision to tear out the other floor joists even though there was no sign of any damage when they tore out the plywood flooring Suncraft's statement that they didn't build on the same footprint is absolutely false Part of the new room is sitting on a pre-existing concrete block foundation and is the same size as the old room The other part of the new room is the same size as the old room and is sitting on the same footprint because it is surrounded by a pre-existing deck The electrician that Suncraft sent was hired for the job that morning He showed up unannounced on a Friday afternoon at pm and indicated that he was told that Suncraft would call us to let us know he would be showing up We were having a dinner that evening in our dining room which is on the other side of patio doors that leads into the area where he would be working and when I asked him how much time he was planning on spending on the job that day, he said he would probably be there until around pm I explained the situation to him and asked him if he could leave by pm He said he would and asked about working the over the weekend and he worked on Saturday and Sunday If I had received a courtesy call advising us that Suncraft wanted to send someone over that afternoon, I would have explained the same thing to Suncraft, but as the owner advised me when I called him after waiting weeks for something to happen or someone to update me on my project, "Suncraft doesn't do business that way."I did have the insulation work done by someone other than Suncraft because I know how to call a random company to sub-contract work just like the owner of Suncraft did with the electrician Suncraft claims it took "more than two weeks" and my "actions caused another big construction delay" The facts are; the rough electric inspection was done in the afternoon on Wednesday 11/12/The insulation was done on Wednesday 11/19/and the Insulation inspection was done on 11/20/ This is a period of working days Thursday 11/- Thursday 11/ Not more than weeks, it was days Based on Suncraft's methods of operation, I think I got it done faster than Suncraft could have.I did repeatedly ask for a courtesy call before Suncraft sent anyone to our home so we could arrange to be there There were no courtesy callsWorkers would randomly show up unannounced In spite of Suncraft's lack of professionalism in this respect, I am not aware of any sub contractor showing up and being turned away with the exception of the roofers Suncraft sent days before the roof framing was finished If Suncraft showed up without calling in advance it is possible that the house was locked because we were not home. The $14,progress payment was made on 10/21/after the Suncraft salesman called to set up a time to stop by and pick up the check The last progress payment was made on 11/21/and I did wait to see if someone was actually going to show up and finish the work I was so disgusted with Suncraft by this point that I didn't worry about initiating payments I waited for them to realize a payment was due Being the well-oiled machine that is Suncraft, it took them a couple of weeks each time. The building inspector would not sign off on the final inspection because it was raining when he showed up and water was cascading off the garage roof next to the new sunroom He asked me if that had always happened and I told him that it started after Suncraft tied into the garage roof (see attached photos) The inspector said that would have to be repaired before he would sign off That is what he told Suncraft and that is why Suncraft installed the gutter There is still repair work to be done on the garage roof and the gazebo due to Suncraft's incompetance. On February 9th, the Suncraft salesman called and said Suncraft was finished with the job and he wanted to stop by and pick up the check He made no mention of a final walk-through I was so disgusted and frustrated trying to work with Suncraft that I told him I would not make the final payment He asked me if I was sure I wanted to do that and I indicated that I was He then told me that he would let the owner know Our conversation was over and we both hung up The Suncraft salesman is lying when he says he didn't know about a punch list Not only did we discuss several issues I had with the project, but he assured me they would be taken care of before the project was considered finished They have not been taken care of as of Friday, March 13, 2014.Due to the unexplained delay in starting, the shoddy workmanship, the rude owner, the unpredictability of the work schedule and the inconvenience, frustration and anxiety caused by Suncraft, Suncraft should consider this contract closed with no further payment due.Regards, [redacted]
