Notified of bouncing check made out to [redacted] for insufficient funds in checking account. The check was under by $17.04 but I did have $1628.51 in my savings account with this SAME bank. I was charged multiple times by NYCB and the bank says that some repeat charges were by [redacted] (recipient of bounce check)so I did the math and also received 2 NYCB statements in mail on separate days with breakdown of all fees charged along with checking account balance of -$72.00. On 4/24/14 I went online with Chase account to have remaining savings account with NYCB ($1,472.07)electronically transferred to my Chase checking account end#[redacted]. I have a printed list of 7 prior times that these transfers have gone through successfully with no problem and no fines. At the NYCB ATM I first checked savings balance to be sure before transferring, the amount $1544.47 matched my balance~transferred $72.04 from the savings NYCB acct#[redacted] to the NYCB checking acct ending in [redacted] on 4/25/14 to make up the negative balance. This time I received an alert email stating that on 4/28/14 the funding failed. I called [redacted] first they said it was the other outside bank that the transfer was with. So I called Ohio Savings (aka NYCB)spoke with someone at the 1-800 line looked into account, she told me to call branch this transaction happened...gave me phone #440-[redacted]. I called that number and they did receive my letter I sent (after transferring all the funds) stating that I wanted to close both the savings and checking and had explained that I paid the negative balance by transferring it to the checking with them. Then told that the accounts were closed per my letter request but NYCB [redacted] branch is NOT who stopped the transfer, so given #440-[redacted] and name [redacted]. Called, spoke with her, she very rude and said that there are no prior transfers done with Chase and fee posted for transfer to my account, and cancelled my transfer. Also told [redacted] added more fees to acc't.
