Oil Changers

We take our new vehicle in for an oil change, they don't have the filter so we pick one up at the dealer and get Oil Changers to do the service because we are tight on time before a road trip. Change is done and the vehicle goes to Toronto and back and is then parked in the driveway for a week while we are away. Come home to a large puddle of oil on the driveway. I soak it up and crawl under the vehicle, only to find the side splash shield is not installed correctly and the screws are missing. I use a few rolls of paper towel soaking up the oil that is sitting on the splash shield. I then check and the vehicle is down so I add oil, I needed to add almost 3 litres of oil. This is on a holiday Monday.

First thing Tuesday morning, I am at Oil Changers when they open, I bring the vehicle in to have them inspect their work, when they installed the oil filter gasket, they tore it and that's where the leak is. Technician brings me the dipstick and says 'see your motor is fine, no damage, showing the full dipstick? what he doesn't know at this point is that I had just topped it up before the 5 minute drive.

I talk to them about the mess on my freshly sealed driveway and the *** says he will come by and look at it. He does and he tried to clean it with something, he left the cleaning product on the driveway and it ate through the sealant as it baked in the 32 degree sun.

After a call to them, I was told he didn't clean it properly because he didn't have a hose, yet he didn't call me asking for one or knock on the door as my wife was home.

After some back and forth, they agree to have the driveway resealed, I ask and I have it in writing, the company will but down some type of oil blocker to make sure it doesn't bleed through. The message back, yep and they have the work done.

I get home 3 hours later to see the spot bubbling where the oil is, the oil is bleeding through. I contact them and am told wait, it normally takes a few days. I wait, not thinking it will cure properly. Well, 4 days later and I still have a sticky mess of an oil spot.

I reach out to *** Oil Changers ***, I send him 2 emails and he doesn't respond, I call head office and I don't get a call back. I ask his *** to have him call me, at first I am told he doesn't make calls and after arguing how stupid that statement is, they agree to have him call me. I missed a call from a Blocked number, *** left me a message with no return number and said he would call me on the Monday, this was a Friday. Monday came and went, I go to *** on Tuesday after sending a third email to him with no response. Guess what, 15 minutes after the tweet, I get a call from his store ***s cell, since this is now past the ***, I don't answer it. ***, when they found the leak, he said all was fixed, when actually they just kept tightening the torn gasket to stop the leak, he told me they replaced the 3 missing speed screws in the splash shield, which they didn't, and he told me that the company they hired to fix my driveway would put down an oil block product in the damaged area, which they didn't.

I should have answered that call, it was ***calling me from his employees cell, again leaving a message with no return number.

Twenty minutes later I receive an email, it is sent from *** using his employees email account, not his own. It states that he has seen the pictures and that is all he is going to do, I can come in and have the torn gasket replaced.

So before you do business with this company, know that they don't stand behind the work if and when there is a problem.

It was $100 for an oil change, $30 for a replacement filter, $3 for missing screws and about $50 worth of oil plus I still have a damaged driveway.
