I **ft you a voicemail this morning about the referenced case number. Mr. ** brought his 2002 CL500 Mercedes in on 8/26/16 and his complaint was the trunk does not open or close and his soft close door feature does not function. We diagnosed the vehicle as having and open circuit to the PSE...

pump which operates these features. Mr. ** was provided and estimate and declined repairs. 
Mr. ** brought the vehicle back on 10/19/17 (14 months later) and decided to do the work. During repairs my technician noted that the PSE pump had been worked on and was in two pieces in vehicle. The PSE pump was run dry but we were able to put back together, add fluid and  it was functioning at that time as designed. Customer was notified that since the PSE pump was run dry and was previously tampered with that it may need to be replaced in the future. All this is documented on repair order from 10/19/17. 
On 11/7/17 Mr. ** brought the vehicle back in and stated the locks and fuel door were not operating again. We discussed with Mr. ** that we had told him about the pump and it may need to be replaced in the future because of someone running it dry and having it apart. He was provided an estimate for PSE replacement on 10/19/17 so we again told him he would need this repair now. He wanted us to cover the repair since he already paid for the repair. We declined to take care of the repair as he was notified that someone tampered with pump and damaged it and that the cheaper fix was only temporary. Mr. ** chose the temporary cheaper repair and now wanted us to cover it. 
There was over 6,000 miles put on the vehicle from 8/16/16 to 10/19/17, Mr ** was driving the vehicle and obviously had someone else try and fix the vehicle instead of us doing it right the first time. On 11/7/17 we offered a discount to help with the cost and we even disconnected the air line going to gas door so he could at least get gas. We did so at no charge to customer.

Also, your letter states you attempted to contact us before. The letter that is dated 3/8/18 is the first communication I have received. I think part of the issue may be that your letter is addressed to a [redacted], [redacted] was an advisor here well over 10 years ago, so maybe it got thrown out or misplaced.
