During the purchase of a 2019 Dodge Caravan, my wife and I purchased an additional Z2 Vehicle Service Contract. We were told we had 30 days in which to decide to terminate the contract for a full refund. The request to terminate was made within 14 days. It is now three months later and the contract has not been terminated nor has the amount of the contract been credited back to our car loan.

Good morningWe received a cancellation request at the end of March. Our accounting administrative assistant requested mileage at that time from our finance manager. However, we do not show mileage was returned to us. We did follow-up again this morning and have the mileage on record now. All cancellations are processed electronically and the mileage is a required box on the website.

We have processed the refund for the full amount of 3903.00 plus sales tax of 369.81, totaling 4272.81. This refund will be sent via *** to *** today 06/16/2020.Please let me know if you need any additional information. We apologize for the delay in processing.***, controller

Revdex.com:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. At the time of my initial request, and until the complaint was filed, no request was made by the business for additional information despite repeated attempts by me to obtain a resolution. So while I find there assertion that it was my fault for a delay in the refund to be factually false, the have now provided the requested refund and I consider the matter closed.

Warning: do not use their service center. They claim to do a full inspection, but do not look at anything. My brakes and rotors were worn through a month after their "inspection" that said my brakes were in the green. They have sent me home after not topping off any of my fluids like windshield and radiator reservoirs. Most recently they torqued my oil drain plug so tight that it pulled out the threads.

On,Jan 2,2020,I purchased a 2020 dodge ram crew cab ram truck, trading in a 2017, dodge ram quad cab truck. I told the sales person, ***,that I wanted to upgrade,to a new, 2020 Laramie, with the same features, that, I have on my truck, plus more. He then, led me to the impression, that this new truck, had all of these things. When I purchased the truck, and, I put eight thousand dollars down on the new truck, and trading in my 2017 dodge ram truck. I picked the new truck up the next day, because, it was not ready to drive home. I drove the new truck home, the next day, I discovered, that, the truck, did not, have the Uconnect, navigation system. I called the sales person, ***, I told him, that the truck, did not have the Uconnect navigation system, and I wanted to return the truck for another one, with the Uconnect navigation system. He apologized, to me for the, error, and he told me, that I could not return the truck, right away, until, receive, my title, and that I would have to register the the truck, first, and pay the registration fee first, and then, I could return the truck, as a trade-in. I, received the title, three weeks later, and I took the truck, and had it registered. I then called, the sales person, ***,on January 28, 2020, and informed him that, I was ready to return the truck, and get, the right truck. I returned the truck on that day, as a trade-in, for the right truck. After we finished the paper work, and, the financing, I ended up, with a payment, with a trade-in of $37,000, dollars, after, I paid, $46,000, dollars, for the truck, that, only, had, 164 miles, on it, and the new truck, only had a navigation system, on it. This truck, which is the right truck, I wanted, and it had 163 miles, on it, at that time. I, feel, the trade-in, should have been more, than $37,000 dollars. They, should of offered, me, the $46,000 dollars, trade-in, since, the error, was not my fault, plus, the paper work, did not show the $8,000 dollars, that,I had put down.

Mr ***,I have pulled all the
information regarding both transactions stated in your complaint. You
submitted leads online for a few weeks before ever coming to the
dealership. Not one of the New Ram 1500's you inquired on was equipped
with Uconnect Navigation. There was never any intention to sell you
a truck without the options you desired. You were here for a few hours
the first day, picked a truck, test drove, negotiated a lot of upgrades, we
installed them and had everything ready the next day. The very day that a
contract is signed, the vehicle is reported sold to FCA, the lender, state,
ect... We made it clear that
we cannot simply reverse your purchase, and you were given the choice to trade
your vehicle if you so desired. Once you registered, you brought your Ram
back and decided to trade for a vehicle with Navigation. I am happy to provide copies of all documents that are signed by you and a representative of Olathe Dodge. Please contact me if you have any questions. I do apologize for any
confusion or misunderstanding. ***General Sales ManagerOlathe Dodge

On Thursday, February 20th, I brought my Dodge Challenger in to the dealership's service center to purchase 4 new tires for my car. I dropped it off in the morning and picked it up during my lunch break. When I got home later that day, I notices one of my rims was damaged. I know for a fact that it wasn't there prior to getting my new tires because I washed my car a few days prior and my rims were damage free. I called up the dealership and I told them about it. After me putting me on hold, they came back and said the tech that put on the tires said it was already there. I told them it wasn't and they requested I come by. I brought my car back over there and the service manager said that his tire machine couldn't have done it and that it's damage from hitting a curb. I haven't hit any curbs and the damage clearly looks like it is from a tool. The service manager pointed out that one of my other tires had the same mark but smaller. The service manager, ***, said he would check the camera footage on Monday to see if the damage was there when I pulled in. Today is Thursday and he still doesn't have the footage yet. I've shown the damage to other people and they agree that the damage is from a tool and couldn't be from curb damage as *** claimed.

Notes below are from our service manager, ***Customer brought
vehicle in on 2/20 to replace 4 tires. Technician noticed that there was a
large curb mark on one of the wheels and paint missing on another prior to
performing any work. Technician replaced tires, did not further damage wheels. Customer came to pick up the vehicle and paid the bill in full. He was pleased with his
service experience. Customer called back later that day stating we damaged his
wheel. The advisor stated (to the customer) that there was a curb mark on one of
the wheels prior to us servicing his vehicle. Customer disagreed, so we invited
him to bring the vehicle back to the store to make sure the damage the tech was
referring to and what the customer was talking about was the same damage. It
was the same damage and there was prior(according to the technician). I
instructed the customer that we could check the camera footage and see if it is
visible. I told him it would be a few days. I have stayed in contact with the
customer. I left a message this morning to let the customer know that the
computer images were not available and that we will “repair” the one wheel in
question. Customer has not decided to accept or decline the offer at this
point.

I recently received a coupon in the mail from this dealership for a $19.95 oil change. I decided to get my oil changed at the same time I dropped my vehicle off for a recall that needed to be completed on the air bag. I brought in coupon and was immediately told they will not honor the coupon because they only use synthetic oil. The coupon reads "synthetic oils higher". Why not charge the difference in price of conventional vs synthetic oil, it's approximately $2.00 higher per quart? Nope, they just will not honor a coupon THEY mailed to me. Total cost for oil change cost $60, three times the price on the coupon that brought me into the dealership. This is a case of BAIT and SWITCH. Explained how misleading this is to 3 service men and no one was concerned about it. Instead of honoring the advertisement that was mailed to me, they lost a loyal customer.

Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Response • Jun 03, 2019

The customer presented the $19.95 coupon at time of check in. The advisor explained to the customer that the coupon is not only for non-synthetic, but also for a 5 quart vehicle. The vehicle the customer was getting serviced was a 7 quart vehicle. We explained to the customer that the coupon does not apply directly to her vehicle but we would use it to discount her oil change. The normal price of a full synthetic oil change on the 2014 Dodge Charger with a Hemi engine, would have been $72.27 before taxes and disposal. After parts and labor discounts before taxes and disposal, the customer was quoted $48.87, a $23.40 discount. She was advised it would be
$60.00 after taxes and disposal fees. The customer agreed to have the oil changed performed at that price. We performed the recall and the oil change, the final bill was $57.36. we explained everything prior to the vehicle being serviced, and provided a discount, even though the coupon did not apply directly to the vehicle being serviced. We performed the service at a cheaper price than agreed upon before servicing.

[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, you must give us a reason why you are rejecting the response. If no reason is received your complaint will be closed as Assumed Answered]

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: the coupon clearly states "synthetic higher". The coupon does NOT exclude my vehicle from being able to use this coupon. Please review the print on the coupon as I've used several of these exact coupons in the past at your dealership. I should have been given the coupon price with added charges for synthetic oil and additional quarts as the coupon clearly reads. It's evident you do not want to honor this coupon because of the amount of a regularly priced oil change for my vehicle. This coupon does not exclude dodge chargers with hemi's, rather you are choosing not to honor it because of that. I was not given a $23.40 discount. I was given $10 off with extra charges added onto the bill (I believe I was charged a fee for the recall service/repair that I did not notice until later).

Regards

Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Response • Jun 17, 2019

We did not "exclude" Mrs. vehicle from the coupon. We applied a discount to the service. We explained that to her prior to service. She was only charged the additional amount for full synthetic oil and the additional quarts. There were not any charges for the recall service performed as that cost is covered by the manufacturer, FCA. The coupon was honored and charges were fully explained to all parties prior to the start of services. All services and prices were agreed upon prior to service.

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because:

Now the business is being untruthful regarding this transaction. Their response states that they did honor the coupon which is a complete lie. They did not apply the coupon and did not apply an additional charge for synthetic oil and the additional quarts of oil. That is the entire basis of this claim. I do not appreciate them being dishonest in their response. I have attached a copy of the receipt showing the charges. Please compare these charges to the $19.99 coupon for an oil change. Also note they did apply a discount of $11.44 and then note the $3.53 charge for "customer pay shop supplies for repair order". No idea what this repair order charge is, but when you add this frivolous charge it makes the discount $7.91. Still no where near the coupon amount.

I brought my vehicle in to Olathe Dodge to have a couple issues diagnosed and was told there would be a 125.00 fee to have the diagnosis done which I agreed to after asking "is that it" and was told yes. After I was informed of the problems and how they could be fixed I was given a report of the problems and a bill for 157.37 which included the 125.00+a 18.75 misc charge+tax of 13.62. I went to the cashier and asked what the 18.75 misc charges were and was told it is a shop fee they charge everyone so the total was 125.00 + 18.75 + tax of 13.62=157.37. I paid the bill and left. I called about an hour later and spoke to someone in the service dept and asked if the misc charges were a set amount that everyone paid or did it change depending on your total bill and was told it is a set fee but the employee could not say the amount even though everyone gets charged the exact same. While speaking with the employee I told him that I should have been either told the realistic total of 143.75+ tax or told that there is an additional 18.75 shop fee and he agreed. I would like the dealership to be upfront with customers and not charge any hidden fees.

Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Response • Sep 18, 2018

Good afternoon

I reviewed the complaint and agree with the customer that the fee should be refunded. We did not properly disclose the fees and taxes in our original quote. I also reviewed the process with our advisors and the cashier. It is our practice to charge a "disposal" fee when we use chemicals and lubricants. There should not have been any fees billed to this customer. I apologize for the trouble and will promptly refund the difference of 18.75 to the customer.Thank you

I am 67 years old and disabled. Truth & Lending Act (TILA) Rescission of Contract (I have tried to have meetings and contact with the dealership even the owner and the bank and have sent e-mails trying to resolve this issue and even went to the dealership within two days of the transaction but they will not even discuss with me. They have known from the beginning I was not in the right mind frame to legally sign a contract because of the pain I was in and on pain meds from the beginning and they took advange of it.) The transaction happened July 22, 2017, with Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep and Central Bank of the Midwest. After falling and breaking my shoulder, breaking my elbow, breaking my nose, 70% torn rotor cuff left shoulder tear, 100% torn rotor cuff right shoulder tear, umbilical hernia stomach tear, concussion, nodules in lungs and 4 surgeries and 1 more surgery to do, I was still under doctors' care and on pain meds of hydrocodeine when I received flyer from Olathe Dodge that I had won several prizes and a key for possible free car. Told dealership I did not want to buy car but sales showed $4,000.00 on flyer. We agreed on $25,000 for 2015 jeep cherokee minus $4,000 check price $21,000 for 4 years. I was not in rights frame of mind they knew I was on pain meds and did not have prescript reading glasses. Said they would take care of me and only be $21,000 for 4 years. When I received contract, it was for approx $34,000 for 6 years. Now suing me for $39,000. Kept me at dealership for 7 hours going through pain and withdrawal. Olathe Dodge will not return my calls. I have not driven vehicle, in my garage since 7/24/2017, two days after 7-22-2017 transaction.I have documents I can send you. Don't know how to attach.

They printed the wrong vin # on the contract. So now the creditor is sayong we are delinquent on the car loan when the dealership had to rewrite a different contract

Olathe Dodge Chrysler Jeep Ram Response

Mr and Mrs *** purchased a 2015 Jeep Renegade in August of 2016. The vehicle they wanted was at another dealership, so we hade to trade for the desired vehicle. The sale price, trade allowance, interest rate and term on the contract are all correct, however, the initial contract displayed the VIN of the Jeep Renegade we had in stock, not the vehicle we traded for. It was a mistake on our part, which I have told the ***'s numerous times. That being said, we simply had them come in and sign another contract so they could get everything registered with the State of Kansas. The contract date, sale price, interest rate and term never changed. The date of their first payment never changed. Whatever the reason may be for the ***'s not making a payment sometime during the last year is beyond me, but it has nothing to do with the initial contract.

I have spoke in depth with Mr. and Mrs. as well as their lien holder. The delinquent payment is strictly an issue between the ***'s and Capital One.

Feel free to contact me with any questions.
