I purchased two buildings from old hickory west last spring, they arrived months late, in June, and I was told to be careful, they just painted the wood(odd that they did not let it cure)They seemed great when they arrived, other than not being level at all, and I was pretty pleasedI noticed a lack of true support for roof, so I added 2x4s to all corners of building, and some in the middleAfter that it seemed goodThen the rainy season startedI noticed my smaller shed cabin leaks from roofAll exterior walls are FULL of moldNot just a little either, like mold is everywhere, it is coming through the building I plan to contact the company about this issue, but I have read a lot of reviews, and it seems they turn everything around on the purchaser/renterIt is obvious that they did not correctly treat/stain the wood or this would not be happeningI don't even know how they can fix it, but will probably need to replace all the siding is my guess, and replace roofingI will update this review after I contact them
I rented a building from them with every entention of buying it going thru the rent to own program....when I got the building it was a mess.....all the lumber was either rotton or just plain in bad shape....they buy wood in large amounts...in that would they get some bad wood...I guess they thought they was going to get from me for all that bad wood....not to mention the building had a bunch of bad tthat was full of nasty yellow patches...yeah it to was bad wood...just about every nail in the building had left the wood split from being put in too hard with a nail gun I guess....soon as I got the building they had to come to my place and replace alot of that wood....part of the metal roof had to be fixed as well...turns out they ran out of trim and so putch in a patch piece...so once again they was trying to do the same thing as well use every piece of metal even if it wasnt long enough...why throw that short piece away when we can use it ....not good people...the whole building was supposed to have brand new everything...they replaced the door with a new door with scratches and dents on it...once again they buy a large amount of doors and get some bad ones...not a good experience with this company...and who ever built this shed shame on you...phil and darin they should fire you for giving the company a bad name...thanks for ripping me off
I bought a 10 by 16 shed from them with a heavy snow roof. The shed I looked at in the sales lot looked good. I ordered the shed and it was delivered this summer. When I went to finish the framing inside so I could panel it I got a nasty suprise. The ceiling joist part of the roof trusses were very poorly installed. The height varied by by more than 1 1/4 inches from the flat floor. The gussets that connect the lumber to form the trusses was lower than the trusses in several places. I could not redo the trusses as they were stapled together and it would void the warrranty. This forced me to scab in new ceiling joists that are level and even with each other. This cost me for the new lumber and an extra trip to the lumber yard. With the new scabbed joists in place it made the installation of the batt insulation very difficult . It is a semi vaulted ceiling. The spacing between the trusses now varies 1 1/2 to 2 inches because of the scabbed joists. In all it cost me at about 12 hours of extra work, about 11 2x4s and some lost insulation just because of some very sloppy construction. I contacted the company and they refused to do anything about it stating it is just a shed. I told the salesman that it was going to be a tiny house at the time of purchase. I emailed the main company and they would not even respond. I have detailed pictures of all the mistakes they made and the delivery date. This shed was over $4000.00

Company has hollow guarantees and promises. A quality shed with a month or more of hassle and hours on the phone. Unprofessional drivers.
