Old State Clothing Company

Review: I ordered a diploma frame from Old State Clothing Company on October 17, 2014 as a Birthday gift on October 24th. My payment was processed on the 17th when the order was placed, however, the gift did not arrive by the 24th. I contacted Old State on October 23rd and they explained that they had an employee quit and orders taken were not sent and apologized and assured me the package would be mailed that day or by the latest on the 24th. When the package again did not arrive I contacted Old State a second time on or about November 3rd and was told the merchandise had just arrived and would be mailed that day. Very different explaination from the previous call. After another week the package had still not arrived and I began calling every day to check the status and was told continuously that it was being mailed "that day". I asked for a tracking # and was given several excuses for not being able to provide the number from "my Manager has it and isn't here" to the computer is down and they couldn't retrieve it even after I was told by employee [redacted] that she had the number written down but couldn't find it. Today is November 14th and after calling Old State again this morning I was still unable to get confirmation that the package was mailed or an offer of a refund. They are the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with and I am truly beginning to believe their "company" is a scam. I have never been lied to so many times in trying to confirm a placed order. I will NEVER deal with this company again and will discourage anyone looking for Penn State items from using this company. They say they are alumni run and if that is the case, it is disgraceful the way they do business. A very poor reflection of the University.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund of my payment for an item not received.

Review: On April 13, 2014 I ordered a golf umbrella from the website of old state clothing company. The item showed to be in stock and I completed and paid for the order and even received a confirmation email.Unfortunately, the item I received was not the one I ordered. Old state didn't follow their own customer service procedures listed on their website. Here''s what their web site says:Items selected for purchase are subject to availability & if they are not currently in stock the customer will be notified with in two business days by email & or a phone call with a suggested substitute item or an anticipated back order date. If the store does not hear back from the customer regarding this email & or phone call within five business days the order will be canceled due to customer inactivity.After a half dozen calls to Old State, I finally convinced them to send me a return mailing label so I could send back the umbrella-which I did promptly.Since that time I've contacted Old State more than a dozen times by phone and email asking for my purchase price to be refunded. On several occasions Old State employees have told me that my account would be credited. Sadly the lies continue more than 6 weeks after they sent me the wrong item.All I want is to receive the refund I've been repeatedly promised. This experience has drug on far too long for a simple return, and has me questioning whether this business is legitimate. I'm a proud [redacted] alum, but I can assure you that I won't be ordering from Old State ever again.Desired Settlement: I would like to receive the refund I was repeatedly promised for an item I never received.Old State has drug this out for more than six weeks and it's employees continue to lie to me on the phone about an imminent refund.
