The service received this evening at Old Town Inn by the Manager of the night Ms. Proctor has been a horrific experience. This evening I decided to treat a family member visiting from out of town to the restaurant based on previous reviews from other family members and a groupon deal of $14 for $30 worth of seafood. I was included a party of three (two adults and one child). We arrived and initially received GREAT service from the waiter Chance. He was attentive to the table, friendly and placed our orders correctly. Our order included two casear salads, mild wingettees and a kid order of chicken fingers and french fries. We began to indulge in our meal and noticed a worm crawling out of the bed of the lettuce of the wings ordered. Immediately we called for the manager and explained to her what we saw and how turned off we were by eating the rest of our meal for the evening. Our plates were taken away to the kitchen where shortly there after the waiter (Chance) brings out a bill charging us for one salad (mines that was eaten in full). I began to express refusal for paying due to a worm being found in the wings and the other food not being charged. The waiter began to explain I was charged for my food because I was the only one who ate my meal in full. In disbelief I agreed to pay by redeeming my groupon as the groupon cost more than the salad. The waiter again informed me that they WOULD NOT accept the groupon as it was only for seafood and not salads as they are not entrees. I requested to see the manager as she had not returned to the table after taking our food to the kitchen. I explained to her my refusal to pay for dinner and not be charged for anything due to there being a worm found wings shared at the table. Ms. Proctor begins to tell me that I am not going to tell her what Im not going to do or pay for. She also refused to redeem my groupon. I proceeded to inform her that the amount I paid for the groupon was more than the amount charged for the salad and I was willing to use it however with her lack of empathy or apologies I would need to inform the sanitation committee and the Revdex.com along with the owner. Ms. Proctor proceeds to inform me that we had no idea of what she was going to do or say for an apology before leaving as we were still in the restaurant. Another waiter interjected while the manager was standing there and informed me that salads were not considered to be entrees and groupon gets the money for any groupon purchased while the business gets the customers and money off of any additional money that is spent. I was appauled as I have used the groupon before to redeem other than for seafood. The manager then begins to interject and explain to my family member how she has taken off two meals and a starter off the bill and the worm on the food had nothing to do with the salad that was eaten in full. I educated Ms. Proctor (the manager of the night) informing her it has everything to do with the sanitation of the restaurant as I asked to see the manager by me being the one that paid for the groupon and was paying for the bill. After my response I requested for the owner to be called with an overview of what occured. I was given the number on the back of a business card along with the bill for me to call the owner directly. By my call not goin through in the restaurant, my family member proceeded to reach out to the manager to call the owner directly. Her response after taking the bill was to have a great evening.
This was NOT an experience I would like to have or anyone else for that matter to have again. The great news out of all of this is that the owner called me back directly, addressed my concerns, reached out to the restaurant, kindly explained the reinforcement of how the groupon has been misused in the past and the consistency he is implementing to make sure that it is used for seafood only (which I understand). He offered for me to redeem my groupon at the Largo or Anne Arundel location as an exception to make up for the service received. While impressed with the owner response, the representation of the owner from management this evening was horrific. Hopefully the experience for other customers the next time will be different based on this.

Review: Old Towne Inn advertises that one child eats free every Monday. On Monday June 30 I brought in my daughter and granddaughter for dinner and used my dinner for two [redacted]. They do not have a children's menu so the waitress just told us the items. After dinner the owner, Mr. L[redacted], came to the table and said I may not get a free child's meal and use the [redacted]. His website did not say no free childs' meal with any other offer; nor was I offered prices for the meal selections; nor was I told before being waited on that I could not do both (and they knew I requested both when I walked in). My $14 ([redacted]) meal turned into $28 [redacted] plus child) after having to pay for the child's meal. Mr. L[redacted] argued with me over it that he cannot give away all these free meals for children (how many children come there on Monday and what do they have to do with my use of [redacted]); then he rudely walked away and sent me the bill. I may not have brought a child if it had not been so advertised and/or I may have ordered something cheaper had I been given the prices or if they had a child's menu. Certainly wouldn't have bought her a $3 soda when I had same size in my trunk for a quarter. FALSE ADVERTISINGDesired Settlement: They advertised that children eat free on Mondays so I should not have had to pay, especially since they did not even give me any prices for the children's meals nor tell me ahead of time when I specifically asked about their advertisement and told them I was using a [redacted]. I should be refunded the $8 mean, $3 drink, and taxes. And they should change their advertisement to the truth.
