Olde Dominion

On 5/4/17, *** and I signed a contract with ***, to renovate our master bathroom and vanity hallway outside the master bathroom. We dealt with ***. The renovation was completed within two weeks. We purchased the majority of the needed supplies including the shower door. (There is no tub.) The original shower door we purchased from *** had a manufacture flaw so a new shower door was purchased. Upon completion of the renovation, *** verbally agreed to install the new door at no extra cost. Due to unforeseen complications in purchasing a suitable shower door, it took almost three months and three shower doors later for *** to get a shower door. On 9/4/17, *** emailed *** a new shower door was ready to install. We have email correspondence dated back from 9/2017 to the most recent of 3/26/18. As of this writing, *** has not installed the new shower door. Furthermore, at the time we communicated the shower door was ready to be installed, *** shared two other concerns: a loud squeak in the shower base and part of the tiled bathroom floor when walked on both and strips of caulk falling out where the shower base meets the tile. On 10/15/17, *** stopped by the house to access the situation. After a lengthy discussion, *** agreed to put in a tiled shower floor and fix the bathroom floor at no cost to us. *** continued to reach out to *** for a work date. *** would reply to *** emails or texts, but not with any specific date in mind. The warranty for labor has not expired. Moreover, *** prided himself on extending a “lifetime” labor warranty. *** expressed back in May 2017, winter months are slow months for construction. We are deeply disappointed *** has not put our job in his work schedule for completion. On 3/21/18 *** emailed “What day and time works for you?” *** replied with 3/26-27/18. ***’s reply was “I am available Wednesday.” (3/28/18) Then, why did he ask us when we are available? It is our hope *** will be a man of his word and finish the work he said he would complete for us.
