Frustrated and upset customers Bluf: We regret our business with Olde Port Home SolutionsQuality of work is atrociousCompany management does not serve the customerThe required work was $dollars over budget and took two days longer than planned to completeWe signed an $contract with Olde Port to replace our cracking bathtubThe tub was replaced, in addition to various tiles on the wall in the shower areaThe final price paid was $On the first, eight hour day, the contractor spent three hours shopping for grout and tileBecause the contractors had to work past 5:PM one of the days, the company felt it was proper to charge US for the contractor’s overtime (a charge that was never agreed to beforehand)The quality of work was atrocious and appeared to be rushedThe grout and caulk were not installed smoothly and appears sunk in many areas along the wall and tub perimeterAfter two months, all of the newly finished grout and caulk areas were cracked and attracting mold and mildewAdditionally, the dry wall around the tub installation was damagedAfter contacting the company about the issues, they assured us that the work was NOT rushed and they would be happy to fix itI purchased new tile, since the replaced tile did not match the rest of the bathroom (not their problem, but ours, they tried their best to find a matching tile)After taking only one day off of work, the contractor informed us that he would require TWO days to finish the work and he would need bullnose tiles for the bathtub wall edging (we had no idea we needed edging pieces)The required work could not and would not take place that dayWe would have appreciated if the company would have told us we would need two days for the work and that we needed to purchased bullnose pieces for the edgingFeeling frustrated, we agreed to explore other companies instead of dealing with Olde PortWe requested a quote from a different company and they informed us that the tub was not installed correctly (it bounces slightly up and down and makes a cracking noise)Because of that, the caulk around the tub would always crack unless reinstalledThe new company quoted us at 2,dollars to fix all of the damage Olde Port caused, as well as re-install new tile and re-groutOur entire experience with Olde Port has been less than satisfactory and we will never use this company or recommend them again
We have been trying to reach this customer by phone and email several times (between July and July 28) to schedule the repairs for which we were contracted (not all of the items on his inspection report were included in our contract with him) and he has yet to return our email or phone calls to scheduleWe stand behind our work, and if a customer is not satisfied, we do everything in our power to correct the issueThis cannot be accomplished, however, if the homeowner will not respond
Jeff and Sandy at Olde Port worked with me and the bank on a major remodel of our foreclosed house, we had almost everything under the sun renovated or replaced on this house (See list below)They started work the day after we closed and did not stop until the job was done and done to my satisfaction (which is a pretty hard achievement)Not only did they make quick work, they did everything right the first time and at a great priceThey constantly communicated with me throughout this process and I always knew when they were going to be at my houseTheir workers were polite, professional, and on-time; they even asked before using the restroom or going into another part of the house to check on thingsOur house was built in and just about everthing including the water heater was from the 80sWe moved in the same day our roof was getting replaced and the workers didn't miss a beat, they still finished the entire roof in dayOlde Port always answered my questions and did not try to up-sell me, they recommened and gave me the products I neededThey even handled our permits needed for the electrical and plumbing workI would highly recommend this contractor for any job big or smallMajor remodel - New roof New seamless gutters New skylight window Replaced all windows in the house with high energy efficient windows Concrete repairs including a new front step New trench drains Repaired trim around garage doors and painted garage doors New doors Landscaping - Removed trees away from house Plumbing - new water heater, fixed toilet leaks Electrical - repaired and replaced light fixtures, switches and outlets
