Oldies But Goodies

I started a layaway on 11/07/15, I paid it out in full on 03/18/16. I had to wait 7-10 business days for shipment, not all the pieces were shipped.On November 7, 2015, I started a layaway with Oldies but Goodies Consignment Store located at 2053 Hollywood Drive in Jackson, TN. My total was $3,181.65 and I put down $181.65 (using my debit card) leaving a balance of $3,000.00. I made my first payment of $200.00 on November 27, 2015 using my debit card again. Never given or filling out a layaway contact (but payment was due every 30 days), I made another payment of $1,420.00 on February 23, 2016 with included a $20 reinstatement fee. On March 18, 2016 I paid my layaway out in full in the amount of $1,401.95 and was told that the media chest I order with this Queen size Chailotte Group & the I series Queen box spring & mattress (the media chest) had been discontinued & they would call the other two companies the following Monday. I was trying to be convinced into getting a different style chest that did not match my suite, but same color. After calling the other two companies, no one had the chest and I was issued a refund in the amount of $399 and they offered me free delivery instead of $49 due to them not having my chest. On 04/02/16, I spoke with Richie and he told me my bed should be in the store on, 04/04/16 & delivered on 04/05/16. I checked on my bed on 04/04/16 and spoke with Chris & he told me that the suite did not come in on 04/04/16 due to the driver being too far out & guaranteed it on 04/05/16 & delivery as well, after unloading trucks at 4pm. After calling to speak with him, A very rude lady name Shelia told me after calling me back that they were busy with trucks and it would be 04/07/16 or 04/11/16 before I would have my items delivered. I told her neither days worked for me & Chris promised me a delivery after unloading trucks, she assured me it would not happen & I told her I would be in on 04/06/16 for a full refund & I was told by Shelia that would not happen because my suite was in. A very unhappy & dissatisfied customer. My bedroom suite was delivered about 5:20pm 04/05/16, but it was not all delivered, they had to return to get the head & foot board to assemble the bed frame, so they return about 8:15 or so with the two missing pieces, started the assembly again to discover the headboard was missing the post to hold it together. I found out on 04/06/16, they had to order the post for they checked them off the list as if they were there and they were not. I was told by Richie on 04/09/16 that the delivery for my post would take about a week. A week later, no call, no post, no bedroom suite. I have tried calling to speak with Richie and Richie only, Shelia was rude and did not treat me as a customer should have been treated. I have been nice, very patient, and I have tried to understand. This company has received over $3,000.00 from me and I can not get what I paid for, plus I am not a child anymore. My mattress and box spring are both on the floor where I am still being inconvenienced and I get up during the night and this is not helping my back or knees that are bad. I have had more bad experiences with trying to purchase furniture. As the consumer I do not feel it is right or fair that Oldies but Goodies was PAID IN FULL and I can not nor have not received my merchandise to enjoy. This company has left mixed feelings and a VERY BAD TASTE in my mouth about their customer service, their promises, and product. I saw other things to purchase, but after this treatment, I can shop other places and spend my money else where. I recommended Oldies but Goodies to others, but when they learned of my situation, they too have had second thoughts. I truly feel that I have been ripped off, ran over, & had something stolen from me. I also feel that this company has not taken care of me as a consumer and have not been business like, I am very disappointed. I feel if I owed them, they would take me court or turn me over to collection. I am sure they are not sleeping on the floor and they have their beds fully assembled. This is not any way to treat customers.Desired SettlementI feel that Oldies but Goodies have really made it hard for me. I have been without a bed for almost one month now. I am seeking one of the following: a full refund or at least about 30-40% of my money returned. I feel this mix up is not my fault, but it seems that I am the one suffering through it all. I worked to hard to make my money to just give it away and people have no concern or passion about my situation. It makes me feel like I am being taken advantage of.I will note that I tried calling Oldies but Goodies during the week of April 11-16, 2016 on several different occasion trying to speak to Richie and only Richie, but I have not been successful in talking to him. I refuse to speak to anyone else in regards to this very serious matter.
