As in every conversation we are getting lies and assumptions from this contractor He takes no responsibility for his poor service. 1) Our contractors are always licensed and pull any permits necessary 2) We can not afford after paying them to hire another contractor to find what he destroyed
3) The GFI he keeps trying to drive home and beat to death is a wall outlet and DOES NOT connect or wire to any of our pool equipmentAll equipment is hard wired on its own breakerBut this seems to be what he wants to use as a scapegoat .4) Any pool professional will tell u that what he told us about what he shut off ( circulator pump ) to do the job was a LIE.The lights were pulled out and wires expose ( unprotected ) so he had to cut power to the light or damage would be caused5) The auto filler did not keep running as the pool was drained so the power must have been shut down 6) The spa jets must have been cut to keep them from running dry or damage would be caused.I was told the heater was just shut off for safety cause the vent had a hole in it which we are having repaired by our pool service professionalThis is not all coincidence ( as I was told ) nor the cause of a wall socket that is not incorporated into the pool equipment Any electrical work done in our complex was done more than a year prior to the plastering workWe had NO ISSUES with the pool equipment prior the plastering jobNOBODY else touched the pool but oliveiraThe solution they propose is ridiculous as u can see from his reponce we would pay an electrician to come out and find the problem and oliveira will just deny touching anything leaving us with the bill to fix their messThey have ridiculous lies and accusations without fact to back it and will say anything to get out of being held responsible for there Shotty workmanshipAll we would like is to have our pool in the same working condition it was when we turned it over to them This was not acceptable to them so now we have to come to the Revdex.com for helpunfortunatly this is the way things are todayGreed and unaccountabilityI'm sure if we had not already given final payment this would not be an issue and they would have corrected the problem promptly

Whoever installed the sub panel in the equipment room did not pull a permit as of 05/23/when I checked with the city of La Habra. If he was a licensed contractor, why can’t *** get a hold of him?As I have said before, call an independent licensed electrician to come out and I will meet him there to determine the cause of the problems. If Oliveira Pools is at fault we will pay to fix it. If your so-called electrician wired something wrong or if your year old timer switch went bad that is not Oliveira Pools faultYou will have to pay to fix it.Rick does not understand that the pool and spa lights MUST be wired to GFCI by NATIONAL ELECTRIC CODEIt’s the law.If we don’t shut off the circulation pump while working on the pool it will run dry and burn out the bearingsYes, we do remove the lights from the canister to seal the plaster around the light ring. We also have a clause in our contract that states we are not responsible for lights which *** signed.Yes, the auto-fill had to be shut off during construction. What *** is referring to is the BOOSTER PUMP a secondary pump for additional jetsWe do not have to touch or shut it off as it is ran by a timer switch that is turned on manually

This letter shall serve as Oliveira Pool Plastering, Inc.’s (“OPPI”) response to the above referenced complaint. On December 7, OPPI and Fashion Heights Home Owner's Association (“Fashion Heights”) entered into a contract to re-plaster Fashion Heights’ swimming pool and spa. Attached hereto is a...

copy of that contract. tUnfortunately, Fashion Heights has three complaints about our work. However, none has anything to do with our work. Fashion Heights complains that (1) the pool light does not work; (2) that a booster pump for the spajets does not work; and (3) that the heater does not work. It appears that the pool light and the booster pump problems were caused by faulty electrical wiring caused by recent electrical work that was performed by an unlicensed electrician who failed to pull the necessary city permits, The swimming pool heater works but has a large hole in the vent that is a fire and health hazard. I will explain. When OPPI went to drain the pool and spa for replaster, the GFCI outlet in the equipment room did not work. Therefore, I went to Fashion Heights contact person “Gus” to get a key for the men's bathroom for electricity, I told Gus the GFCI did not work and therefore, Gus knew that the GFCI did not work before OPPI started any work. Per the National Electrical Code, the pool and spa lights must be wired to a GFCI. Since the GFCI did not work and because the pool lights must be wired to a GFCI (I did not see any other GFCI) it appears that the non-working GFCI is the cause of the problem. While I was in the equipment room, I noticed a new electric sub panel. When [redacted] of Fashion Heights called to tell me the pool lights did not work, I explained to him that the GFCI didn’t work and that is probably why the lights do not work. I explained that the person who installed the sub panel likely did not wire it properly. Attached hereto are copies of text messages between [redacted] and I wherein I offered to meet him and his electrician at the pool to determine the problem with the lights. I told [redacted] that I would pay the electrician if he determined that OPPI caused the problem. [redacted] refused. I suspect that he knows OPPI did not cause the problem and is simply trying to extort us into giving him free services. I do not know of anything further I could do for Fashion Heights.'The spa circulation pump works fine. However, the spa booster pump has no power to it. We did not touch the wiring to the booster pump because there is no need. The booster pump is operated by turning a nob on a one-hour (or perhaps a thirty-minute) timer. Because, the unlicensed electrician failed to wire the pool lights into the GFCI, it is also likely that made an error when he re-wired the booster pump, It may also be that the timer has gone bad. OPPI did not cause the booster pump problem. *Please let me know how I can resolve this issue. My offer of meeting with a licensed electrician to determine the problem stands. OPPI will pay for fixing the light if it caused the problems. If OPPI did not cause these problems, it is unreasonable to expect it to pay for them.*Please note that on page 2 of our contract with Fashion Heights, OPP1 expressly disclaimed any liability for pool lights that do not work after our work. Despite this clear and unambiguous limitation of our liability regarding the pool lights, OPP] still offered to pay for any damage we caused.
