Hello, my name is *** *** owner of Oliver's Service Superior WI I received your letter concerning the repair to a GM Sierra pickup that we installed a customer supplied clutch kitWe quoted the customer 350-dollars to install his clutch kitWe brought the vehicle in for the repair we
found that the right side exhaust flange/collar (pipe to manifold) was almost completely rusted awayAll that was left of the flange/collar was very small pieces of what is suppose to be a one piece flangeAt this point (before any work was started) we called the customer to explain what we foundI had told him that there was an extremely good chance that the exhaust would leak in that area once it was touchedI also told him that we could try and cut a section of the pipe out to avoid having to disturb that rusted away flange too badlyThen we would re-weld the pipe back togetherThis is a very common procedureAt this point I still made it VERY clear and STRESSED to the customer that the exhaust would most likely leak at the rotted flangeHe said he understood and had us proceed with the clutch replacement anywayWe completed the jobThe customer came and picked up the vehicleAt this point the truck amazingly was not leaking exhaust at what was left of the rotted exhaust flangeThe customer showed back up about 15-minutes after he had left complaining about his truck sounding loud all of a suddenI had explained to the customer once again that the exhaust flange was extremely rusted and that was most likely the culpritSo I put the vehicle up in the lift and showed the customer the left side exhaust flange which was still in fairly good shape considering the age of the vehicle and the climate that we live inThen I showed him the right side exhaust flange that was rotted away to almost nothingI also showed him that we "did not" touch either exhaust flange to do the jobI also showed him the section of pipe that was removed and welded back inOur job was complete and done to the best of the this truck's ( yr old ) conditions!We are an extremely busy shop and have been around for a very longtimeWe take pride in what we do and always try to go above and beyond. Review: I brought two tires in to get them put on a set of rims .When I picked up my tires I payed $14.00 for the work when I got home I was rolling the tires to put them on the trailer and heard rolling of rocks in one tire. As I was inspecting my tires I seen dents in my rims so I called the shop and told them what I seen. I asked if they would fix this problem they stated that the had seen the rocks in the tire but were too busy to take them out and hung up the phone on me so I went to the shop and talked to the owner. He said he was the one who did the work so I asked for my money back and he said no. I told him he would not get repete business with that kind of customer service.Desired Settlement: A refund of my $14.00 and the cost of two replacement rims for my trailer because of the damage to my rims. 2 @ $40.50 each for a total of $95.00.
