Olivieri Chiropractic and Rehabilitation Reviews (%countItem)

I made an appointment with Oliveri Chiropractic on November 26, 2019 and went over my health insurance information; especially asking if they took my type of insurance and if they were a tier 1 provider. I was told yes. I arrived at the facility and the office staff took my insurance card and held onto it for almost 30 minutes; I actually waited 45 minutes to see the doctor.
I was called two days later by the office manager who told me that the insurance coordinator was not in on the day of my visit and the office was actually a tier 2 provider under my type of insurance. This is unacceptable. This office made a mistake by not training their employees and it cost me THREE TIMES what my copay for this office visit should have been. My appointment visit should have been $50.00 and it wound up being $174.55 because of lack of care on the staff at the front desk of this office. I mailed the owner; doctor John Olivier a letter asking to adjust my bill but he completely ignored my request. He did not even have the decency of a return call. I never go to tier 2 doctor's office; as I get charged higher from my insurance plan. I make it a point to ask the same questions each time I make a doctor appointment. Are you a tier one or tier two facility.

Our office takes time to verify insurance benefits for all of our patients. They do the very best they can based on the information that insurance carrier's representatives tell them. Although we do our best, due to the many different types of insurance plans available today, we always advise the patient that it is best to check with their carrier on their own regarding their coverage. In this situation, we did bill the visit through the patient's insurance and it came back with a deductible due to tier two coverage. After our office received a letter from the patient saying that she only expected to pay $50.00 because that is the fee for a tier one provider, a letter was sent in response and the $50.00 was accepted as payment in full for the visit even though the actual cost of her visit should have been $174.55. Our office staff is very competent and caring to all of our patients. We do our very best to disclose all cost prior to a patient's visit. Unfortunately there are somethings that are out of our control when working with insurance representatives. We did what we thought was fair to the patient to rectify the situation and reduced the cost of the visit to just $50.00.

In regard to the wait time, the patient called the office the same day to schedule an exam. Due to the volume of patients we see daily, it can be difficult to schedule these types of exams the same day. However, our staff was able to get the patient in the same day since she was in pain. It is not typical of our patients to experience a long wait but as most physicians would agree, sometimes unexpected patient situations occur and require a little more time than originally expected. Our doctors provide high quality care and do the same for all of our patients in need. We apologized for the extended wait time for the patient but we truly were trying our best to get her in to see one of our doctors as quickly as possible by making a same day appointment in hopes of helping her.

We have a well trained and extremely caring office staff as well as office policies and procedures that are followed. It is unfortunate that the patient felt this way but our intentions were to provide her with the highest quality of care and help her get out of pain as quickly possible.

Please explain to the doctors office that to date; I have never received any correspondence from anyone after I had sent my letter of complaint. That is why I chose to go to the Revdex.com. If I had received a letter from them stating they are accepting my $50 as invoice paid in full for the visit; I would have never reached out to the Revdex.com.

Thank you for their time and for your time in this matter.
