Review: I have been using Ollie's for years. I am accustomed to using a credit card to process my fare. For years I have provided my card details to the dispatcher on the line. It has been processed, and I have had no problems. Today when in for a cab, I informed the dispatcher that I was paying by credit card. I was told that the credit card will be run in the cab now. When I went to process the card I was told that there was a $2.00 surcharge to process the credit card by the driver. When I questioned this, I was told that I need to contact the office. When I called back I got the same dispatcher which I originally spoke to. I told her the situation, and indicated when she told me that the credit cards are processed in the cabs she never indicated that there was a surcharge to process the charge. She indicated that she forgot to mention it. There was nothing she can do, because they are not responsible for the surcharge if I have a problem with it I need to call back and speak with management.

I don't understand how there is now all of a sudden a surcharge on credit card processing. It was not made known prior, even though they were alerted that this fare would be paid on credit card. I also use credit cards to pay in cab for rides in NYC all the time, never had I had to do pay a surcharge.

I felt the situation could be handled differently as a whole. I was not informed of any added charges, I know $2.00 doesn't sound like a lot, but on a $7.50 fare that is an additional 26.666% that I am being forced to pay to use a credit card. Considering that the fare for this ride was originally $4.00 or $5.00, and increased to $7.50 over the last 18 months or so, now they are adding an additional $2.00 to the fare because I am paying with a credit card. The dispatcher was also to me rude. Didn't want to acknowledge any error or give any kind of retribution. I was told its either pay the $2.00 surcharge with the credit card and call management, pay in cash, or basically not to use them anymore.Desired Settlement: Not sure what I am looking for. Its a $2.00 charge. It is not going to break the bank. But I why is it that the Taxi and Limo Commission in NYC can do the same task of charging cards in the cab and not require a surcharge, but now Ollies all of a sudden does.. At this point I am done with the company, I will find an alternate means to get around, because I dont think it is a fair practice what they are doing. To me it is basically their way of jacking up the price and penalizing individuals paying by credit cards and thats not right.
