Olympia Fireplace Supply Reviews (%countItem)

I am writing a review of Olympia Fireplace and Spa. Yesterday we had a Jotul propane stove delivered and installed by Olympia Fireplace and Spa in Olympia Washington. At the time that they finished the work, Glenn, who had done the pipe fittings and installation, left because the *** delivery man, Tom, had left the wrong pigtail to hook the propane tank to the gas pipes that had been installed by Olympia Fireplace and Spa. He told us that Tom, from ***, would fire off the stove and that it would be in working order. Tom came, hooked the pigtail on the propane tank and then showed us how to fire off the stove and use the remote control switch for the stove. We had 15 gallons of propane in the 120 gallon tank, to make sure it was tested prior to us being “on our own” with the stove. When I returned a few hours later, Steve was running the stove. I read the manual that said we would smell an odor as the metal from the stove cured. I told Steve that the house smelled like gas, we continued to air out the house with both doors wide open. Later that evening, due to the continued smell we turned off the stove and switched the gas off at the stove, thinking something must be wrong.
In the morning, when *** came to fill the tank for the winter, there was no propane in the tank. Tony, the *** delivery person, checked in the house and found that we had two leaks in two pipe connectors. Tony was vigilant in assuring our safety. He was surprised to find the propane tank empty, upon filling the tank, he determined that it would not hold pressure, therefore a leak was occurring somewhere. Using his propane detector he checked all the joints in the piping and found one or more potential leaks. Tony remained on site to relay his findings to Olympia Fireplace and Spa. At that point, Olympia Fireplace and Spa was called and came out to check. They did not have the right tools to fix the leaks and will return later today.
When I called and talked with Jayson B at Olympia Fireplace and Spa, he at first blamed *** for not checking that the pipes were tightened properly when the pigtail was installed. Jason claims that the connection to the stove was left open to bleed the air out and *** should have known this. This information was not given to us and to the contrary we were informed that the stove was ready for operation as soon as the pigtail was installed. I said that if Olympia Fireplace and Spa installed the stove and fitted the pipes, they are responsible for the work and not ***. It was a back and forth conversation.
Jason B told me he will cover the 15 gallons that leaked into our house overnight by providing me with FREE cleaning service for the stove in one year. Someone who knows the business, said that is usually free the first year.
I am angry that our lives were put in danger by Olympia Fireplace and Spa. Jason also said, Glenn should have walked us through the steps to shutting off the outside tank if we suspected a leak. He only showed us how to shut off the inside valve (which we had done). This is our first propane stove and so far the experience has been a negative one due to Olympia Fireplace and Spa’s failure to assure us that the system was leak-free prior to turning the operation over to us. Our safety was put at risk due to this installation.
Glenn came out and repaired the two or more leaks in the pipe joints. He apologized for the mistakes and walked me through the gas shut off. He explained to me the potential for propane to explode under varying temperatures and levels.
I am filing this complaint because Jayson refused to admit that the mistakes were due to the fact that Olympia Fireplace and Spa was in the wrong and would have been responsible if further damage had occurred to our home and family.
