Olympic Realty Corp. Reviews (2)

I lived in a 2 bed 2 bath apartment at Alhambra Village for 1 year. Not only did the property manager leave sometime during that year, she left without a replacement.
I havd a toilet leak about 2 months after I moved in. The leak itself was fixed right away, however, the floor in my second bedroom began to sag as a result. It took two months (and non payment of rent for the second month) to get it fixed. All the while I couldn't use the room because they kept telling me that they would come next week to fix it. When I managed to talk to a new property manager about it, she mentioned that I was breakin fire code by having my living room blocked off by stuff. I patiently said it was the stuff that was supposed to be in my second bedroom. The floor (the sagging part ended up being about 1/4 of thw whole room) finally got fixed and I paid the rent that was owed.
The next month I stated to notice water dripping from the fan in my second bathrom. Soon after I started noticing discoloration on the ceiling. Mold had started to appear (it looked to be black mold). The mold made its appearance around September/ October. Nothing was done about it despite repeated attempts to contact the property manager or maintenance. Finally, in February, they replaced part of the ceiling. They never came back to finish painting or put the shower curtain rod back in place. And the new ceiling began to warp. It was in that state when I moved out in April.
The third thing, is that they tried to make me pay for another month when I gave them a quick notice that I would not be renewing my lease. My lease specifically stated my ending date. However, in the addendum it stated that I needed to give 60 days notice of move out not 30. I responded that my lease clearly stated my move out by date and that my note to them shouldn't have been needed at all, but I was just trying to be helpful and clarify that I wasn't intending to stay. In the end I had to pay it because something came up during my move out and I wasn't ready at the official date and had to pay for another month.
They tried to charge me for a couple of broken blind slats, but I pointed out that as soon as I had moved in, I opened the blinds and tied the strings up. I hate blinds and I put the strings up because of my cats. The lady doing the walk through with me even saw me taking them all down when I realized that had to be done yet.
There were cops driving through our parking lot every few nights.
Overall, this company is terrible, the buildings are HORRIBLE, and. Would never go back and would only refer my dearest enemies to this place.

I'm surprised no one has thought of coming here yet in this more credible site to give this company a bad review. If you visit the other ratings site, this review pretty much sums it up. Our short one year lease at Virginia Village was the worse lease of any apartments we've ever rented.
The very first day of signing the papers with my co-signer, our landlord [redacted] has displayed unparalleled professionalism by passively threatening us when we mention that we were told a different security deposit quote when we saw the different number in the signing papers. After that I don't believe we ever saw her again.
One in a hundred chance we were able to reach the landlord personally by phone call and the same goes for office visits, which was right across the street. The only person we ever saw was what seemed like [redacted] assistant, I don't remember her name, who helped us in more ways then [redacted] herself. The maintenance staff was more courteous and professional in that one single visit to replace our air conditioner then the whole entire year [redacted] was to me and my family.
The landlord may have issued "parking permits" to each tenants, but every single night the lot would be full with more then half of the vehicles with no sign of any permit issued. Its a towing companies goldmine! Half of the parking lot had no light so parking at the end of the dark side when coming home from work was more then scary enough.
When it came time to clean out and move out. We didn't expect a full refund of the security deposit back, but didn't expect to get a [redacted]ill either. Apart from damages we have caused and accept full responsibility, the bill still came a whooping $1000 for other "damages" and "repairs". It was unbelievable, but we paid it none the less by sending a check to the Oshkosh address. We've dropped off the keys to the assistant who wasn't our landlord and never looked back.
It doesn't stop there. Less then 6 months later well adjusted to our new home, we've received a court appeal saying that [redacted] is suing us for the same exact amount I've sent a check for the "damages" and "repairs". I've tried contacting [redacted] by phone call and to no surprise, no answer. I've also visited the office hours with little expectation and instead met with the assistant who we dropped of the key with. Irritated by the lack of communication that was already non-existent, I've gathered the documents and showed the court through mail. After a week without hearing anything neither from the Oshkosh court nor [redacted], I've found out from the assistant that the appeal was dismissed without notifying myself, the defendant who the plaintiff, [redacted] was exhorting money out of.
In closing, I do not understand what kind of business these people are running or what they believe to be ethical or if this is all of a big scheme, but I'm just sharing my very very poor experience so that nobody else will be victimized by this particular landlord and apartment complexes.
