Over the last few weeks it has been in the 90's temperature wiseOPPD has turned off the power three separate times calling them outages so they would not have to notify customers of work being done where they were turning off powerThey do these in the evenings around pm like today where it went off at 4:pm and at 4:pm three days agoThey list that power will be back on around and a half hours later and at exactly that given time it happens to turn back onThis is ridiculous and it's happening when you can't reach a real person from the business and all you can do is send them an outage ticket on their website

While those living in the city may love OPPD, I who live out in the country and loose power at least once a month, do not
It was really clear on a day with 8" of snow and degrees tempurature that OPPD loves taking care of those who live in the city (they got their electricity back quickly and could easily go to a refuse with power) leaving us who were stuck in our homes in the country to freeze It hurt so much to watch the city light up while shivering and wondering if I was ever to get warm again
Also beware if you stop using a service they may not stop charging you It was "my bad" that I didn't notice this for almost a year, I assumed they were a good companyI've learned better They did "return" the money they took once this was discovered
Note that their surge protection will not cover a lighting strike My home was hit last spring and although the surge protection was the service I had stopped using (but paid for anyway) I was informed by OPPD that it wouldn't have mattered their surge protection wouldn't have covered a lighting strike anyway
That said their support folk are very nice even though they can't do much of anything

I use the automatic bill pay for my OPPD bill. When updating my account information I received an email with my conformation that my information had been updated. Following my first withdrawal with my new account I noticed it did not pull. I called OPPD the day I noticed it did not pull from my account. They told me that my information had not been updated and it was a mistake I received my conformation email of my account information being updated. How would they accidentally send me an email saying my account information was changed? It doesn't make sense. When I asked to speak with a supervisor he seemed to be more confused and defensive then the original gentlemen that was on the phone. They told me that the department that would have the account numbers does not take phone calls. Again, that does not make sense. How can they tell me my information never changed and I accidently received that email if they can't even see my account numbers. None of my conversation with them was making sense. I am now paying a $** return fee when I have an email showing I updated my information. After this issue I discontinued automatic payments and I have manually paid my bill each month. I would recommend the same to anyone thinking they can trust their auto payment process.
