Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/11/13) */
On 6/27/*** *** brought her *** FHXXXXX into our store for the repair of a broken fascia and lack of suctionI told her we would run the manufacturing code through *** to check warranty status and try to fix her shampooerI ran the
machine's manufacturing code, J12A, through the portal at TTI (manufacturer & warranty center) only to find out the machine was no longer covered by warrantyCalled Mrs*** to inform her of this and she said that it was under warranty, as she had purchased it less than a year agoI asked here where she purchased it and if she could provide a proof of purchaseMrs*** informed me that she purchased the FHXXXXX from an distressed freight outlet store in Branson, MOI contacted TTI to ask if we could process the repairs "under warranty" due to the purchase dateThey informed me that the machine was passed its warranty period and that the purchase date did not apply as an activation date due to the fact it was purchased from an aftermarket discount salvage retailer, therefore the warranty was expired/and voidI called Mrs*** and informed her of thisShe wanted it fixed anywayI told her that I could order the fascia and install it for herI offered the fascia to her at our cost ($10.00) due to her extended wait while we researched her warranty situationShe agreed to thisI ordered the partIt arrived in the store and turned out to be the wrong fasciaI called Mrs*** and told her what had happenedAt this time, she insisted that this should be covered by warranty and that she shouldn't have to pay for the fasciaI reiterated to her that due to the outlet she purchased it from and the age of the machine, it could not be processed under a warrantied repairShe agreed to have me reorder the part and try to get the right one againI called tech support at TTI and told them the *** model and explained that we had been shipped the wrong partI gave them the model number again and they insisted that it was the correct part #They agreed to ship it again in the event that the wrong part had indeed been shipped to us by mistakeThat week the new fascia arrivedThe wrong part had been shipped againIt was similar to the broken part but not the right oneI called TTI and they insisted this was the right partIt would not fit Mrs***'s machineI called her and informed her of the situationI told her that we were having no success getting the part and fixing the machine for herI apologized for all the problems we hadI informed her that there would be no charge to her for anything we had tried to do for her machineI suggested that she call TTI herself to explain her situation to them directly and give her the phone numberShe agreed and came to the store a few days later and picked up the machine
She called here within a couple of weeks and said that now the sprayer on the attachment hose did not work nowWe had not worked on the hose ( she did not bring it in with the machine the first time and we had not had it in our possession)She claimed that the new issue was caused by usI told her to bring it in and we would take a look at the problem and see if we could fix itShe dropped off the machine without the hose but I agreed to look at it for anyway since she had had so many problems with the machine thus farI could not find any cause of the problem on the unit itselfI called her and told her thisShe insisted it was an issue that is covered by warrantyI explained once again that the warranty was void due the age of the machine and where it was purchasedShe refused to accept thisI told her that there would be no charge to her and she could pick the machine up anytimeAt this time it was the last week of AugustShe never came to pick up the machineI called Mrs*** more times over the next months and left a message each time that we still had her machine and that she needed to pick it upAt the middle of October, I moved the machine to our storage unitShe called within a week and said that she would be by to pick it upI brought the machine back to our storeMrs***'s sister picked the machine upThe nexy day, Mrs***'s sister called us and accused us of misplacing/keeping a piece of the brush block and that she wanted it returned to herWe did not have it and I told her thisShe hung up on me and that was the last contact we had either Mrs*** or her sister
I do need to note that we are a warranty center for *** She did not purchase the machine from usWe were the contact between her and the manufacturerShe is requesting a full refund of $for the cost of the machine, however the complaint is filed against a business that did not manufacture or sell her the item
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 8, 2015/11/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I ordered my *** SteamVac Carpet Washer, Model FHXXXXX, 8/14/2014, from Walmart.com Order XXXXXXXXXXXXX, PO#XXXXXXXXXWhich I can provide copies of the order and shipperIf the model was reconditioned the number would be FHXXXXXRM according to *** descriptionI brought these documents to Brad Butts at his Oreck Store when I first brought my unit to him, as well as the packing slips of all three times I received the wrong nozzle, part no XXXXXXXX,shipped 6/2/15; part noXXXXXXXX,shipped 6/8/15, & part no.XXXXXXXX, shipped 6/17/15.I can provide copies if needed*** *** failed to mention this in his responseI would think *** would like to know that TTI FloorCare who acquired the *** floor care business in 2007, Dirt Devil/Royal lines in 2002, and acquired Oreck in 2013, as well as Brad Butts, are telling people that *** is an aftermarket discount salvage retailer and selling their inventory as new and under warranty, and that TTI FloorCare will not warranty it*** *** did not tell me this "story" about *** because as before mentioned, I provided him with all the documentation listed above when I first bought my unit to him, nor would I have said that I purchased my SteamVac from a distressed freight outlet store in Branson, MO, because that is absurd!
As I indicated in my original complaint, I noticed on 5/28/that there was a small chip out of the top of the plastic nozzle(hood) of my SteamVac Carpet Washer, that sucks up the shampoo and water on the carpetThis nozzle can easily be removed and replaced by removing two screws located on each side of the nozzleHad I been able to get the correct nozzle when I had first ordered the replacement part, the SteamVac would have been good to goHowever, from the time of the first order, 6/1/15, which I got from *** Parts Center and they were very nice to reverse the charge when I told them the part didn't fit on 6/5/15, then the frustration I started to experience on the second and third order which I kept receiving the exact same part and kept telling the Customer Service Dept that this was the wrong part yet againAs ridiculous as it sounds, no one at the company that manufactures the equipment could find the correct replacement part for meIt wasn't a rare part, all of *** Carpet Washers have a clear plastic nozzle(hood) that sucks up the liquid on the carpet, that you can see the fluid getting pulled up, that's pretty much how you see that you've removed all the shampoo and water! Instead, I was treated like I was the it and told that I would have to take the unit to an authorized service store to have them look at itI was completely aggravated with their service and the way I had been treated so I had my sister call TTI on 6/18/15, because the only service store they had listed in my area on their web site was about miles awayShe too spoke with a rude customer service rep named *** whom she told that the unit was still under warranty and if they couldn't fix it then they would have to replace itHis response was "Well, that isn't gonna happen"She asked to speak to his supervisor, which he ignored and instead gave her the name and phone number of Oreck clean home center that is approximately miles away
After taking my unit to Oreck on 6/27/15, I spoke to *** *** who assured me that he would be able to get the correct nozzle part, because he had a much better program, listing all the parts on the units because he serviced themApparently, that wasn't so eitherHe did not repeatedly call me about the warranty or cost of the replacement part or that he had to reordered the part several timesWhen he did call, it was to tell me that the unit was repaired and ready to goI asked him if he had managed to get the correct part from TTI, because this had be impossible for me, but he said noInstead, there had been a woman who had come in to the store with the same model *** SteamVac Carpet Washer, and wanted to trade it in for an Oreck unitSo he took the nozzle off that unit and put it on mineThat's how he got the partOf course, with all the story telling, I'm not sure it's true but that's what he told meI picked it up on 7/27/Alittle more than a week after picking up the unit, my sister who lives with me, tried to use the Hoover SteamVac on our living room carpet, only to find that the button on the handle of the unit that sprays the shampoo on the carpet did not workAlthough *** *** said in his response that this sprayer was on the attachment hose, it wasn't, because we have no attachment with my SteamVacNever didPrecisely why I did not bring it in with the machine the first timeBut I guarantee that if the sprayer on the unit did not spray previously, I would have included getting that repaired along with the nozzleIt is stupid to have had to hassle with the nozzle for so long and never concern myself with the sprayer not workingThe brush block that had the center brush that didn't lock the brush block to the unit that had mysteriously broke and wasn't there when my sister picked up the unit, isn't worth my time to discuss since the brush block doesn't cost that much anyway, and if that was my only problem, then I wouldn't have even filed a complaint
In conclusion, if I had gotten the correct nozzle part for my SteamVac in the first place, for the approximately $(part+shipping) , it would have been done, end of effort and hassleBut instead, I was treated as if my problem wasn't worth the time to bother with, and I should just buy a new Carpet Cleaner, unfortunately, I was raised in the generation that the customer is always firstIf TTI and *** *** would have considered this, they would not have had to make up such stupid stories
Fact: My SteamVac was under *** Limited One Year Warranty when all this startedIf TTI does not want to honor its warranty, I will go to Walmart's Customer Service with this complaint
Final Business Response /* (4000, 10, 2015/12/03) */
Since the customer's desired settlement is a full refund of $92.76, I believe she should contact the business that she purchased it fromThat business was Walmart, Not ORECK Floor Care CenterI have never charged nor collected money from this customerHer complaint is with Walmart and TTII am no longer a Hoover warranty service centerPlease excuse my store from this complaint
Final Consumer Response /* (4200, 12, 2015/12/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
TTI Floor Care referred me to Oreck Floor Care Center, as an authorized service center for *** on 6/18/When I took the unit to Oreck Floor Care Center, *** *** said he would contact TTI Floor Care to get the part, he did not say he was no longer a *** warranty service center at that timeIt is clear that TTI Floor Care does not want to honor their warranty, if Brad Butts has ever contacted them about thisSo I will go to *** with all my information and problems with TTI Floor CarePerhaps they will have a resolutionI also think that they would be interested in knowing how TTI Floor Care treats their customers and what they say about ***
