Omni Credit Services, Inc. Reviews (1)

Review: Omni Credit Services began attempting to collect a debt from me. They are a collection agency. On 2-25-13 I sent them a certified letter asking them to cease and desist all communication with me. They signed for the letter by USPS on 2-28-2012. On 4-23-13, my former girlfriend called Omni to inquire on my account. Omni gave her information on my account in violation of the FDCPA. In addition, in violation of the FDCPA, the OSCPA, and the TCPA, Omni called me directly and attempted to collect the debt. I have all records and have attempted many times to resolve this with this company, however, they refuse and told me to file any complaint I wish. I am left with no choice but to file this complaint.Desired Settlement: In accordance with the FDCPA and the TCPA, I request a ceasing of all activity on my account and a one time payment of $2,750.00 to me. This represents only the statutory and not the actual damages I have encountered. If not satisfied with result here, I intend to seek the advice of my state's AG office and file private legal action.

Response:

Much of the information contained in this correspondence has been shared with [redacted] previously. [redacted] is confused on the entity that had been attempting to contact him regarding his unpaid account. Omni Credit Services of Florida, Inc. attempted to reach [redacted]. Omni Credit Services of Florida, Inc. is located in Tampa, Florida. There is no entity in Wisconsin which makes his referral to the Wisconsin Revdex.com puzzling. Nonetheless, an account was listed with Omni of Florida and [redacted] did send a cease and desist letter to Omni on or about 2/28/2013. On that same day, the account was moved to a cease activity work queue and all phone numbers were removed from the account to insure no phone calls would be placed to [redacted]. On April 23, 2013, a woman called Omni indicating that she was [redacted]'s fiancée and wanted to pay the account balance in full prior to their wedding. Omni's representative took the call but did not offer any information about [redacted]'s account to the woman who called. In listening to the recorded call, at no point in time was any information shared with the woman who called herself [redacted]. Actually, the representative was clear in pointing out that her name was not on the account and that without expressed permission from [redacted], absolutely no information would be shared. This is very clear and in direct contradiction with [redacted]'s statement in his complaint. The recorded call does provide the evidence that no information was shared and no violations occurred.

Secondarily, [redacted] then asked the representative to contact [redacted] on a three way call in order to gain his acceptance to speak with her. The representative took the phone number offered by [redacted] and dialed the number with her on the phone. In listening to the recording, you can hear a phone ring and then stop ringing which corresponds to the call placed by the representative and [redacted]. [redacted] believes that his efforts to entrap another party warrant his attempts to "resolve" this matter. As shared with [redacted] in previous communications, the phone call that was placed to his number at the direction of his agent is an obviously attempt to defraud another.

As this matter would be handled by the Revdex.com of West Florida, as the communications and account were handled by a Florida corporation, located in Florida, and where his agent's inbound call went and his correspondence was mailed to, I believe the correct location of any actions would be in Florida. However, [redacted] feels compelled to forward this complaint to Wisconsin where there is no office location. However, there has been no wrongdoing on behalf of Omni. [redacted]'s continued efforts to extort money for an action under his direction and that of his direct agent is somewhat concerning. But to address his request, this account has been closed and returned to the client. No phone calls or communications of any sort had taken place other than the requested three way call set up by [redacted]. Omni considers this matter closed.

If I can provide any additional information, please do not hesitate to contact the undersigned.
