On Broadway Studio Of Dance Reviews (1)

I have been a patron of On Broadway Dance Studio for years. My older daughter has been there since she was 6 (she is now 18), my you her daughter has taken 8 years of lessons there, and my son took 3 years of lessons there. Earlier this year, my previously very well behaved older daughter decided to have her rebellious teen years rather late, tanking her senior year, getting involved with drugs, alcohol, promiscuous sex, etc. She refused to take any accountability for these actions and decided she was 18 and would simply move out rather than face repercussions for her many offenses. Due to this, I immediately contacted the dance school to unenroll my daughter from classes. Despite knowing what my daughter was up to, [redacted], studio owner, was too lazy to reconfigure the dances without [redacted] and instead let her stay for the remainder of the year for free, replaced her costumes (we had the ones we had paid for at home and refused to give them to her) and waived her competition fees for upcoming Nationals. At this time I obviously decided to take my other daughter out of this school (not a very good dance school anyway), but we decided to let her finish the year as she had worked hard and deserved to participate in recital and had already been invited to Nationals this summer. Despite the fact that we have (aid all Nationals fees for [redacted] and paid for a [redacted] warmup suit [redacted] wanted the girls to wear to Nationals, [redacted] has never received her suit and has now been excluded from Nationals (all of the other girls were contacted with practice times except us, and [redacted] blocked me on Facebook which is typically her primary way of keeping in touch with the dance families). We would not allow [redacted] to attend Nationals after she has been treated this way, but we have contacted [redacted] for a full refund for the National fees as well as a refund for the [redacted] warmup suit that we were supposed to get in the spring and no longer want, need nor have received to date. I just want a refund.Product_Or_Service: Dance Competition Fees and Warmup SuitDesired SettlementI want a full refund for National fees (we paid [redacted] as well as provided food and raffle prizes for a fundraiser she held) and for the [redacted] warmup suit she cashed our check for months ago and never provided despite the fact that the girls were supposed to get them well before recital (which has come and gone).Business Response I am sending a full packet in response to the complaint. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The response has no actual response to it. I have yet to receive any type of refund for wither the dance competition my daughter felt too bullied to attend nor for the warmup suit we have yet to receive (although to my knowledge, despite it being months later than promised and no longer wanted or needed by us, I do believe Mrs. [redacted] attempted to send it via UPS last week, but for some reason, UPS does not ring my doorbell when they come, so I have received nothing but slips from UPS indicating I have missed a package). In the meantime despite the fact that I have spoken to no one about this complaint, Mrs. [redacted] has continually harassed me and slandered me via her social media accounts, and encouraged others from the dance studio (including children) to do the same. I have done absolutely nothing wrong as a parent nor as a customer, and this treatment is completely unprofessional and unacceptable. Final Business Response TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN:I AM WRITING IN RESPONSE TO THE COMPLAINT MADE AGAINST MY BUSINESS BYMRS. [redacted]. THE ALLEGATIONS ARE COMPLETELY UNTRUE. SHE HAS BEEN A CUSTOMER OF MINE FOR OVER 12 YEARS WITH A GOOD RELATIONSHIP. IN THE PAST COUPLE MONTHS MRS. [redacted] HAS HAD SOME FAMILY ISSUES WITH HER ELDEST CHILD. I HAVE TRIED TO STAY OUT OF IT AND BE NEUTRAL ON THE SITUATION. THE ELDEST CHILD STAYED ON AT DANCE, SHE IS 18 AND MOVED FROM HER HOUSE. SHE DID NOT DANCE FOR FREE AS MRS. [redacted] STATES SHE WORKED OFF HER REMAINING TUITION AT THE STUDIO. A FEW PARENTS OF OUR COMPANY CLASS DECIDED TO PURCHASE THE DANCE COSTUMES FOR THE GIRL FROM THE KINDNESS OF THEIR HEARTS. SHE STATED I WAS TOO LAZY TO RECONSTRUCT THE NUMBERS WITHOUT THE GIRL. UNTRUE I HAVE WORKED HARD FOR 25 YEARS TO MAKE MY BUSINESS A WELL RESPECTED ONE. AS FAR AS HER LOVELY COMMENT THAT "WE ARE NOT A GOOD STUDIO," MRS. [redacted] AS OF 2 MONTHS AGO WAS PROMOTING OUR BUSINESS PUBLICLY TO OTHERS. FOR THE RECORD MY STUDENTS JUST WON THE FIRST PLACE NATIONAL TITLE FOR STEP UP TO DANCE NATIONAL COMPETITION. AFTER NOT SEEING EYE TO EYE MRS. [redacted] DECIDED SHE WOULD NOT SEND HER YOUNGEST DAUGHTER TO NATIONALS WITH HER GROUP BUT NEVER STATED THAT TO ME. THE CHILD WAS GIVEN THE PAPERS FOR PRACTICE TIME ALONG WITH HER CLASS. SHE WAS ALREADY REGISTERED WITH THE COMPETITION AND FEES WERE ALREADY SENT. MRS. [redacted] ALSO DECIDED SHE DID NOT WANT THE COMPETITION SWEATSUIT FOR THE YOUNGER CHILD BUT AGAIN THAT WAS ALREADY ORDERED IN MAY AND IS ALWAYS GIVEN OUT AT THE NATIONALS PRACTICE. I HAVE ENCLOSED COPIES OF THE OFFICIAL PROGRAM FOR THE NATIONALS SHOWING THE CHILD WAS REGISTERED THERE AND PAPERS THAT ARE HANDED OUT TO EVERY MEMBER OF ON BROADWAY DANCE STATING RULES ETC. THE MONEY FOR COMPETITON WAS RAISED IN A FUNDRAISER NOT FROM MRS. [redacted]'S POCKET. (THE COMPETITION ALSO HAS A STRICT POLICY OF NO REFUNDS) I HAVE ALSO ENCLOSED A FEW REFERENCE LETTERS FROM VARIOUS PARENTS OF STUDENTS FROM DIFFERENT AGES. I HAVE CONDUCTED MY BUSINESS FOR THE LAST 25 YEARS RESPECTFULLY AND HONORABLY. I HAVE NEVER HAD ANYONE COMPLAIN LIKE THIS. MRS [redacted] IS TAKING A PERSONAL VENDETTA AGAINST ME.THANK YOU FOR INFORMING ME OF THIS COMPLAINT AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW IF THERE ISFURTHUR ACTION TO TAKE. YOU MAY REACH ME VIA EMAIL AT [redacted]SINCERELY,ON BROADWAY DANCEFinal Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)The response from this business owner is full of self serving lies. My complaint has nothing to do with my eldest child, who with Mrs. [redacted]'s help has gone on to live with a convicted felon and lose nearly all of her college acceptances and scholarships. My complaint it that due to chronic cyber-bullying that Mrs. [redacted] encouraged other mothers at the dance school to partake in (based on lies she told them about what was going on with my older daughter), neither my daughter nor I felt safe partaking in the national competition we had paid for and we would therefore like a refund. I have e-mailed you two such examples of cyber bullying, one by Mrs. [redacted]'s best friend at Mrs. [redacted]'s direction, and one by Mrs. [redacted] herself. I have absolutely no contact with anyone involved with Mrs. [redacted] and have not spoken about my complaint with anyone. Furthermore we still have not received the &90 warmup suit that we were told would come in the spring BEFORE recital time. Since it was not in for my daughter's last performance with the studio, we no longer want it and simply want a refund. The fact that she placed the order months later than she said she would and now has Faith's suit is her own fault, not ours. In addition, Mrs. [redacted] has cancelled MANY classes over the years and NEVER offered a makeup class, despite not refunding any of our monthly fees. Her policy is allegedly that students cam request a makeup for any cancelled class, but when we ask she simply says "Oh I'll just keep them a bit late next time to make it up" but never even does that. Aside from weather related cancellations, she cancelled classes these past few years so she could go watch her sons in soccer games and stay home while her son went to the prom. Again, all while charging us the entire monthly fee even though wee were lucky to get half the classes per month we were supposed to. She's a fraud and a cheat, plain and simple, and an adult who both incites and partakes in cyber-bullying to someone who has not done anything other than go through the proper channels to ask for the refund I deserve. As for her laziness as a dance teacher, aside from cancelling MANY classes, I have every year's worth of recital on video showing just how often she simply recycles the same dances for class after class. She has not addressed at all why I shouldn't get a refund because she knows that I should. My complaint is about the fees for nationals and I have already e-mailed you evidence of her cyber-bullying. While I have never said a word about her to anyone, and simply left the dance school at the end of the year with my bill paid in full, she has spread lies to the students and the other parents at the studio about me. In addition to that there is the cyber-bullying and then this "response" to a complaint that does not address the complaint at all. If you were cyber-bullied would YOU allow your children near those so-called adults? I don't think so. She made sure we wouldn't fee; comfortable at Nationals so she could pocket the money. I want a full refund for Nationals and a full refund for the warmup suit that she promised would be in before recital and was not in until the dance year was over.
