On Guard Mini Storage

Review: Received certified letter of Final Notice of Foreclosure Sale, which was dated Aug 6, 2013, sent certified on Aug 7, 2013. The noticed stated the fee owed was $134. Nowhere in the noticed was it stated that an additional late fee of $15 would be added the same day which the letter was mailed and postmarked. We received the certified letter and paid it within a few days after receipt of the letter which was on Aug. 11th, 2013 and were charged $149. Upon trying to clarify the matter with the storage company we were told that because we did not pay the $134 by the 6th of the month, the day prior to it being mailed out (not received) it incurred another late of $15. The employee, [redacted], first stated the original contract upon obtaining the storage unit gave late fee days starting on the 7th of the month. Within the same conversation the contradicted herself by stating when a storage unit goes into foreclosure, the contract information and fees are thereby changed and follow guidelines for such. As stated, no notice within the letter we received did it state an additional charge would accrue the following day if it was not paid by the day they printed it out and mailed it. We were unfairly charged and additional late fee of $15 which accrued the day the certified letter was mailed, which was unreasonable as there was no way of us receiving the letter the day before it was mailed and also paid it the day prior to it being mailed out.Desired Settlement: Refund of the "late fee" and reasonable charge for loss of money over that period of time and charge, if possible, for time dealt with in attempt to rectify matter prior to getting this report filed.
