replaced security locks with regular house locks and gave me keys that could be duplicated anywhere.Refuses to replace them even after calling police[redacted] was approached on 12/6/2013 about making keys for my business because I needed them the next day and the locksmith I had used for my business for 10 years would be closed by the time I drove to them. His solution was to have him change the locks for free and I won"t have to go so far out for future services. He said it would be to his benefit to do it for free for the continued business. He was about to close so he told me to call him the next day when I came into work and he would come in to look at them. It slipped my mind to call him so he walked next door and looked at the locks and then he said "can I get a haircut for changing the locks" after hesitating I agreed but then he said he needed one for he and his partner and I told him we did not agree on this and I was not willing to barter with him because I was not looking for free service he offered it to me. He sent the guy over to change the locks and when he finished he said I had to pay for the 4 keys I needed @ 2.50 each. I gave him 12.00 and told him to leave the keys on my desk because I was with a customer. When I finished with my customer I went to get the keys and it looked just like one of my house keys so I called [redacted] back and asked him to please come back over here and put my old locks back on my door because I have a business with valuable inventory in it and I can not give employees keys that can be duplicated at just any key cutter. He brushed me off and said he was on the phone and can I call back. I waited 30 min and called back only to be brushed off again, so I told him I would have my husband to come over there.20 min. later he walked to the back of my salon where I was servicing a client and sarcasticlly said " Where is your husband"? I told him he was on hi way. I them proceeded to explain to him that we discussed security locks and he rudely said " I wasn't going to give you security locks for free", I thought you wanted convenience so you could go where you wanted to get keys made." he began to get irate and my daughter walked over to him and quietly asked him to refrain from discussing this matter in front of our clients because this is a business. He then threw my old locks and keys onto the floor and proceeded to leave, my 5'1" petite daughter began to follow him to the front asking him to please complete his job because we cannot leave the the locks he put on the door over the weekend. It was 5:00 on Friday evening. He then shoved her out of his way and left the building. My daughter called the police but by the time they arrived he had closed his store and left. We explained what happened to my husband and the police and we were advised to wait until he opened on Monday and call for another officer to try to resolve the issue. Today is Monday, My husband went to talk to him and he refused to address the issue and asked him to leave. My husband then went back to his work truck to call me and tell me what he said, while we were talking on the phone [redacted] came out to the "public" parking lot and demanded that he leave the parking lot, my husband then told him that he was in a public parking lot and he has no right to tell him to leave. [redacted] was yelling he was going to call the police if he did not leave so he told him to call them. when the police arrived and heard both sides of the story he told us that this was a civil matter and we could take him to court if he refuses to rectify the situation. The police officer then went back into his store and asked him if he could just change the locks to resolve the issue and he refused to change them so this is why I am submitting this complaint. I have already contacted my original locksmith and they will be here to replace the locks and make me new keys. Desired SettlementI would like him to refund my money in the amount of 10.71 (he brought me a receipt and $1.29 with him ). I can pay 75.00 to have my locks fixed.Business Response /[redacted]/The customer came to our shop with keys that can be duplicated only at one place in town and explained that it is too much for her to drive across town every time she needs to duplicate keys. We offered to come the next day to look at the locks. The technician visited her salon the next day and offered to change her locks so she can have a key that can be duplicated anywhere in exchange for a hair cut, meaning to help her keep cost down. She agreed. There was never a mention of security locks (those obviously are much more costly). When the technician finished installing the locks he asked her to take a look and make sure it was done to her satisfaction but she could not be bothered and rudely mentioned she is not going to give the hair cut she promised. She asked for 4 more keys for the locks we installed, we made them for her and she paid for them. Her total expense was around $10 when this kind of service will typically cost above a $100. The technician left. At the end of the day she called our shop demanding we came back and replace the locks with high security locks. We said we wanted to discuss the issue since high security locks where not mentioned. We asked her to come by our shop (across the street from hers) but she refused and demanded we come back immediately. We agreed to go back to her shop (with no charge) in effort to find a solution. The owner was there 30 minutes later. He tried to explain that her old locks where not high security locks but regular grade locks with key that can be duplicated by one locksmith (this is how some locksmiths insure the customer will came back to them). At this point we offered to put her old locks back with no charge or to sale her high security locks. Her daughter showed up and started yelling and threatening the owner. She demanded he'll install high security locks or she'll call the police. The owner asked her to let him put back her old locks but she will not let him work. She kept standing very close to him and yelling, demanding high security locks. The owner said that if she doesn't give him space to work he will have to leave. Since she didn't stop, the owner turned to leave when she blocked his way violently by trying to push him and holding the door shut. This behavior is unacceptable. Knowing that her business is secured the owner decided to leave. The next day her husband showed up at our shop yelling and demanding free work again. He refused to leave and we had to call the police. Since the customer did not honor her side of the barter she basically got free service which still was not good enough for her. Unfortunately she crossed the line between business to violence which we refused to deal with.
