Review: In early July we contacted On The Level Construction in regards to having a quote to do exterior repairs and sidewalk work to our office building in Charleroi PA. (We found his company in the yellow pages.) On July 9, 2015 my brother [redacted] met with Mr. P[redacted] at the site, [redacted] to review the scope of work, time frame to complete the job, and the job cost. Mr. P[redacted] said he was the owner of the company, and gave a quote of $1500.00 to do the work. Mr. P[redacted] said he would start right away, possibly that afternoon (July 9th), or July 10th. He did say he was leaving for vacation for a few days on July 11th , but would complete the job later the following week. The work was agreed upon and he was given a deposit check of $500.00 (check #[redacted] which was cashed and posted to our account on July 9, 2015).

To date no work has been started. Myself and my Brother have made dozens of phone calls to the Company that go unanswered. We have only been able to leave messages on his voicemail. He has not returned any of the calls.

I contacted The Office Of Attorney General today to see if the Pennsylvania Home Improvement Contractor Number he advertises (PA092602) is legitimate. I was told On the Level Construction is not registered. I also went on the PA Attorney General website searching with the address, phone number, owners name, and company name not able to find any record that the Company is registered.

I also checked your Western PA Revdex.com site and found On The Level Construction using this fake number.

I truly believe Mr. P[redacted] had no intention of ever starting or doing the work which he quoted and contracted with us. THIS IS THEFT BY DECEPTION!!!Desired Settlement: Pay back the $500.00 in the form of a cashiers check.

Review: Contractor was hired on November 22 to finish a basement and remodel a bathroom. Contractor had promised that the job would be finished by December 24th. Contractor did not perform satisfactory service. The work was very poor quality. He constantly did not show giving various excuses. He was paid for over half of the job and pretty much took the money and spent it. His employee who worked here on December 22 stated that the owner [redacted] had spent all the money and was planning to asked for more money. The contractor left on Monday and stated he was coming back to paint that night. He never showed that night or on Tuesday or Wednesday as he stated he was going to work. He sent a text that he was going to be here Friday after I left him a pissed off message. Friday came and went. He never called or showed. All the framing and electrical work was supposed to be completed. I have received various quotes as of to day and what work that was done has to redone as follows. The French doors installed in the back have to be pulled out. No frame was put in and the french doors were not installed properly. The contractor did not provide for any heat vents in the basement. He was suppose to put it in the duct work. His crew was never informed and they dry walled over it. This has to be pulled off or cut through now. The electrical contractor cut off the three way switch off from the upstairs tv room which accessed the rear light in yard. This drywall on one of the walls has to be accessed to find this line. The electrical work was never completed. No plugs switches were ever put in. As for the bathroom. The contractor said that the shower that he ordered was cracked. He never did much of any renovation in this area. I am very disappointed in the quality of service he provide in all areas. He lied and did not have the adequate skills to do this job.Desired Settlement: I think he should pay me all the money paid for the bathroom back and half of game room money paid back because he did not provide the electrical and framing and a lot of rework. A total refund in the amount of $9,250 is being requested of the $15,500 that was paid

Review: I am in a contract with On the Level Construction PA092602 for an exposed aggregate patio. The contractor claims inclement weather destroyed the work and said he would file a claim with his insurance company [redacted] and, when refunded, would fix the problem. We received a letter from [redacted] to inform us the claim was denied. On the Level Constuction then told us that they would fix it with an overlay. He contacted [redacted] of [redacted] construction and asked him to do an overlay. At the time we did not know that [redacted] refused the job because an overlay would not adhere and the structure was a safety hazard. We only know this now because [redacted] told us. On the Level Construction lead us to believe that the issue could be fixed. We called [redacted] and they also said an overlay would not adhere and that we now had a safety hazard in our yard that needs to be removed as its a violation and our homeowners insurance would drop us. On the Level Construction has not as of yet, June 23 2014, resolved this issue and it is three months later. We were informed by the other contractors that this is considered "Theft by deception" if On the Level Construction does not remove and rebuild. [redacted], owner of the company, will not agree to do this or to reimbuse us to have it redone.Desired Settlement: We would like this job finished as promised or to be reimbursed for what it will cost us to fix the problem which is $3400.00 to remove and then the $4200.00 that we paid for the patio we do not have. $7600.00 total to fix.
