Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because:
I have contacted on the road again periodically ever since I originally got out of jail and I have spoke to the owner and he has said more than a couple times that he is going to try finding a scooterBuying a car is not an option at this time as I don't have a jobThe only way this complaint is going to be resolved is if the owner makes time to find me a scooter or buy a scooter from the manufacturer and sell it to meI have waited or months for the owner to find me a scooter and I still don't have oneI would need a scooter, lock and helmetUnless the owner can make time to find me a scooter in good running condition or buy another scooter from a manufacturer for me to buy from him I don't think this complaint is ever going to be resolved.

I have read **. [redacted]'s complaint , he left out some critical information and has his dates wrong. He entered into a layaway contract with On The Road Again on 10/01/2010 with a $250 deposit. (See attachments) We subsequently received a $160 payment on 11/01/10 and another $160 payment on 12/01/10....

This was the last we heard from **. [redacted] until February 2014.Over 3 years had passed without hearing from **. [redacted]. As stipulated in the Layaway Contract attached, the scooter was returned to inventory and subsequently sold. In June of 2011 we sold our last scooter and closed our scooter operation due to conflicts with our suppliers. Since we had not heard from **. [redacted] in over three years his request for a scooter would be deemed a special order and as such his monies would be forfeit under the terms of our layaway contract.

 Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
I have waited for quite awhile for a scooter and I still don't have one. I can buy a scooter from them but I would prefer a new scooter instead of a used one. The $570 I have should be enough for a used scooter. I don't see why I would need any more money just for a used scooter. But if the price is a little more for a good running scooter I don't mind paying a little more. The owner should be able to do a search for scooters with titles and hundreds of scooters should appear but evidently he hasn't done that. Like I said I would prefer a new scooter from the manufacturer and I will continue paying off.

We will try to find him a used moped. We have been looking but the problem is that now each scooter must have a Virginia Title issued to it to transfer ownership. Everyone trying to sell used scooters over the internet is trying to sell them without titles because that's how they acquired them. It is possible to find a scooter but it will probably cost more than [redacted] is willing to spend. He has a $570 store credit with us and I need to know how much he can add to that to get a scooter. He just has to be patient as this will take time.

Review: My son purchased his first vehicle from this company along with his friend. They are just starting out in life. He had his first job and they of course are struggling to survive. They bought an inexpensive vehicle from "On the Road Again" with help from both parents and immediately had trouble keeping the car on the road because of having to put $3200.00 into it. Brakes were bad, catalytic converter, engine gasket, and other problems were immediately needing replaced among other things. Long story short, they went to the dealer and got no leeway whatsoever. They were to make bi-weekly $200.00 payments and last Wednesday (Dec. 3rd) called me to help with the payment which I did over the internet. Within hours, their car was repossessed. Going to the dealer to try to retrieve the car proved futile so now this unscrupulous dealer not only has their down payment and subsequent payments, but the totally repaired vehicle to sell again in perfect running order.Desired Settlement: Let the boys have the car. If needed, we'll come up with any back due payments (if their are any) or at least pay the repair bills for them since this dealer now has a perfectly good car to resell.

Response:

On 07/11/2013 On The Road Again, Inc. sold a 2002 Buick Century to [redacted] & his partner [redacted]. At the time of sale the Buick had 99,994 miles on it and we sold it with a 3 month-3000 mile power-train warranty. The first time we became aware that there was a problem with the Buick was on November 7th when we called to discuss their account because they were 2 payments behind. They told us the car was at [redacted] in [redacted] for repairs. They promised to bring their account up to date on November 11th, which they failed to do. We e-mailed on November 18 about their past due account, and requested payment, we received no response. On December 4th we called and left voice mail on [redacted]'s cell. In response we received a $50 payment from [redacted]'s father even though they were $387.86 past due at that time. We received no e-mail or phone calls in response with any kind of excuse. We knew that the Buick had required repairs but had no Idea as to the dollar amount of those repairs.

We turned the account over for repossession the evening of 12/04 and it was recovered on 12/05. [redacted] called on 12/05 to talk with [redacted] the owner and was informed that she wasn't in and he could call her on 12/06/13. His father called on 12/06 and we advised him that [redacted] & [redacted] could redeem the Buick if they brought the account up to date and paid the recovery fee.

I don't understand the complaint that we sold them a car that broke down immediately, especially since we heard about no problems at all until November, well after the warranty had expired, they also managed to put almost 8000 miles on the Buick while they had it. We have also agreed to let them redeem the Buick if they bring the account current and pay the recovery fee.

[redacted], V.P.

Review: I signed a contract to buy a scooter from on the road again until it was paid off but I went to jail and was unable to make payments for about three months. After I got out of jail I was planning on restarting my payments but I called the business and was told he stopped selling scooters and I have $570.00 credit towards something in the store but I cant get the money back. I was aware of this when I signed the contract but I didn't think he would stop selling scooters either. I cant buy a car from him as I don't have my license anymore and I owe DMV, the courts, etc too much money to get my license at this time. This money is just sitting there not being put to good use and will continue to sit there if you do take action on this matter.Desired Settlement: refund or sell me a good used scooter with lock and helmet for $570.00
