The named company was contacted for repair/replacement of bathroom ceiling fan. Employee attended on July 11th, and after removing the fan, left to get a new motor. Returned with the new motor and reinstalled the fan. During the time he misplaced the push nut on the unit that holds the fan in place. He claims that he left it on the carpet where he was doing the work, which, I might add is a light blue wall to wall. There was a lot of what might be called crud on the carpet and I vacuumed the area to insure none of the dirt would be embedded in the carpet. The worker claimed that I must have vacuumed the nut up. I am 81 years old but I am not blind nor *** I did not see or vacuum the missing part.In order to satisfy him I went through the dust canister of the vacuum and no nut was found. The worker advised me that he did not have one and that I should go and buy a new one. After much searching in the City if did find one, and replaced it on the fan. The fan worked fine for a while the got noisy again so I contacted the company and they sent the same employee to my home. He again took the unit down, and apparently broke the push nut that I had installed and again told me that I would have to go and get another one. The repair bill for this episode came to $491.54. This for a repair that was not even completed to proper working order. I probably could have purchased a new unit for less than half price and not have all the headaches and running around to find a part that came off the unit and was lost, then broken, by the employee.

This Complaint has been rectified with the customer. We came to an agreement with the customer to completely replace the fan.

I have a 40 year old hardwired smoke alarm which started acting up 2 days ago. It would intermittently and loudly sound off for no apparent reason (other than age). Not knowing anything about electrical things, I was very worried that there could be a short and thus a fire hazard. Also, my dog was extremely agitated with each incident and refused to leave my side. I could not honestly call it an emergency, but it was definitely an urgent situation. I called one company early yesterday and was advised that an electrician would call me back. I did not receive the call and so we had another worried night interrupted by occasional "rude awakenings". I called On Time this morning and spoke to Janice, who was very understanding and told me that she would have someone call me back. My thought of course was...here we go again. I was pleasantly surprised when Jordan called me back within 10 minutes, and even more so when he said he could be there by noon. The icing on the cake was that he was able to arrive at 11 am! He was pleasant and professional, answered all my questions and offered to vacuum up the minimal mess. Are they expensive? I really didn't have the time to shop around and have no basis for comparison. But with the type of service I received, I would certainly choose On Time again and recommend them to others. Well done, and thank you!

Sewer line was blocked and basement had water. On Time was called and came. the contract reads that a small "single cutter was used. lots of shifting of pipes, cleared sewer at 25 feet". Invoice *** November 15 2017
It was suggested that the sewer pipe had sunk? (Which requires outside digging - a big job).

December 10, 17 the basement had water and another company came and cleared the sewer line 'with 5 inch knife 70-80 feet, with roots retrieved" Invoice ***
Note the absence of the sewer pipe having shifted.

On Time Electrical Response

We started the pipe clearing with a large cutting blade, was unable to get through blockage, technician change blade to smallest blade to break threw the blockage, then put larger blade back on and was continuously getting stuck in pipe. This is a very good sign that there are structural problems in the sewer pipe. The technician advised the customer that other testing should be considered. Customer elected not to act on his suggestion.

Customer then had a problem 25 days later, at this time he did not contact our company at all, not to re-evaluate our work or even to ask if we warranted our work, he then placed a complaint with the Revdex.com before he talked to a management personal at On Time. When talking with our dispatch personal, it was requested that he send us a copy of the competitors work performed, he said no and hung up on our dispatcher.
On Time's position,
1) It is unreasonable for any customer not the provide the opportunity for a company to evaluate a situation so it can warranty its work or to be given the opportunity to defend its position. in this case we were told to just accept the competitors opinion and give a refund on work that has been performed.
2) We cleared the sewer pipe and for 25 days the drain was functioning, we suggested there maybe other issues with the line( Shifted or broken ) if broken then it would not be unusual that roots had grown back enough to allow wipes or tampons etc. to catch and create another blockage in the line, so when re-clearing the line you would find the presence of roots again. Please keep in mind that the only way that roots can get into the sewer line is if there is a break or multiple breaks in the line, that would be caused by the shifting of the sewer pipe.
The only way to be sure of the integrity of the line would to use a sewer camera.
3) As a company we have a very fair policy and have always stood behind the work we have performed, providing we have been given the opportunity to do so, in this case we have never been given the opportunity to evaluate or warranty, we have just been asked to believe and trust a competitors bill that the customer refused to share with our company. It is possible that the other companies technician did not have the same experience and does not have the same ability to feel the presence of a problem in a sewer line, please remember this is blind work, and decisions are made on feel or spending the money to use a camera to have a true evaluation of your sewer line.
4) We can not be asked to be held responsible for issues out of our control, if we were called to come back, our advise would have been to use a camera to evaluate to situation and determined a course of action from there, again , we were never given that chance.

Customer Response

After I submitted present complaint to the Revdex.com I received an *** call from OnTime, he went over and over again this issue. Claiming that a 6inch tool was used for where a 5 inch tools succeeded. I referred that it is dealt with the Revdex.com and all my info had been submitted after I had called the company and was dissatisfied with answers. ***
The two bills submitted justified that I called another company. If the 2nd company would have concluded the same problem I would have no claim. But I was justified contacting another company that just cleared the line - just that. Professionally the line was cleared, nothing more. No need for cameras (and charges). *** There are no sunken pipes. ***
I am obliged to seek a second opinion. It is in my interest as the result show, and see OnTime answer. This for the well being of my family.

(attached again the two bills)

Kind regards,
Jan

If the second company is willing to provide a letter
to the home owner, that they ensure there are no breaks in the sewer line, then I am
willing to provide a no charge camera of the sewer line. When the camera is finished we are happy
to provide this information to the Revdex.com. If our technician was incorrect and there is no structural or breaks
in the sewer line we are happy to reimburse the customer for work already performed.
If we are correct in our findings the customer would agree to pay us $ 99 for camera job performed.
Once again, this customer did not call us to review or possible warranty the work we performed, and
frankly are not willing to just accept a mystery competitors position.
We have asked for copies of the competitors invoice and findings and have been told "No"
Regards
Mike
