Ms. [redacted] purchased a Perlick unit from an online dealer and had it shipped to her from across the country. She signed for the unit free and clear that it had no damage. We work with distributors. We sold the unit to our distributor, who in turn sold the unit to their dealer, who in turn sold...

the unit to Ms. [redacted]. After she realized that the unit had damage she contacted the dealer who gave her an RMA to return the unit for a full refund, per the agreement she signed she would have to pay the freight to return the unit. Ms. [redacted] didn’t want to do this so she called our tech support line. Normally Perlick does not get involved with freight damage claims as we are not the shipper and we are removed from the end user by a distributor and dealer. As a courtesy we sent out a servicer to determine the extent of the damage. When it was determined to be unrepairable we let the customer know that and that there was nothing more we could to in this situation. She was informed that she would have to work this out with the dealer she purchased the unit from. Apparently she got a shipping quote to send the unit back for around $700 and she was not happy for this and was looking for the dealer or Perlick to pay for shipping even though she signed an agreement saying she would be liable for the return of the unit. Our distributor, Signature marketing stepped in and offered to let her use their shipping account which would have lowered the cost to around $150 to $200 dollars. Apparently she was still not happy about this and declined the offer to assist. Perlick does not get involved in freight damage claims as we did not sell the unit to the customer or ship the unit to her. Perlick attempted to assist the customer, the dealer and distributor have offered assistance and the customer is refusing all offerings. Thank You,
