One Stop Auto Body Repairs & Classic Restoration Reviews (%countItem)

I took my 2016 Kia *** over to A to Z Auto Repair and classic restoration for repair on 1/13/2020 after it was hit while parked in my apartment complex. I looked at the website and read some reviews and it all looked great. I called in advance and sent pictures and gave Josh my insurance information. The repair shop did front me 50 dollars for the deposit.I then contacted *** my insurance company as to where my car was at after going to pick up my rental car. I then received a call from the adjuster that A to Z have not yet submitted pictures or an estimate. I asked if I can send the pictures I have at that time the adjuster said no he's waiting for the repair shop to send an estimate and the pictures. So I was sent an email on 1/31/2020 that *** will only pay for 8 days of rental due to that I put my car in shop the Monday after the accident happen. I am responsible for all cost of rental car after 1/20/2020. The body shop sent estimate/photos on 1/29/2020. That's 2 weeks and 2 days after my car was dropped off. Today is 2/24/2020 it's been 6 weeks since A to Z have had my vehicle. Since this time I have paid over 600 in car rental. I have called A to Z Auto repair at least twice a week to see if they are finished and I am told it will be a couple more days. I have heard this phrase so much I said just call me when you are finished. I have spoke to Josh regarding getting reimburse for my rental charges. Josh said I need to speak to his father he is a "Fair" man as I replied will see how fair he will be when I ask for a refund to cover the cost of the rental. I don't want to go in with my speech of me being a single parent of two in my apartment and we are just maintaining. I thought A to Z would really help me with such a horrible nightmare. They only made it worse with their lies and empty promises. The kicker is that A to Z was calling me non-stop when the insurance check came in and wanted me to sign the check over before my car was even ready. ISTILLHAVENOCAR!!!

I’m missing a bolt to my hood and have several spots on my car where this paint has bubbled up and came off in the car wash. I even have paint runoff spots on the trunk. There are several of these spots all over the car. I paid for rust repair and have rust?? This is unreal! The first spot showed up a week after. The other blistered spots I noticed after going to a TOUCHLESS car wash... the response I got from the place is after the missing bolt was this exactly, “ I’m not for sure if it had two or one.” The second response I got from the 1st picture message I sent was, “ Maybe it’s something my guys didn’t see bring it back I’ll take care of it.” The third response I got after sending pictures all over the car of the blistered spots was, “What did you do.”

HORRIBLE!!!! If we could have heard "I give you my word" one more time... They had our car for nearly 2 years for a paint job!! Excuse after excuse after excuse, nothing ! We finally get the car back and it is in worse condition than we brought to them! They wanted payment in cash every time, that alone is quite shady!! We have receipts for everything. They stole our jumper cables and did not put all of the parts back on the car, they dented the top of the car, crushed the oil pan, the awful paint job is streaked all over the place, dripping down, you can see the rust that was supposed to be removed, the windows no longer work. These people are a joke!!! CRIMINALS!!!

I got into an accident on May 9th, 2019, had it towed to A-Z Auto Body since they were one of the only ones open at the time. Met Josh there and after some discussion over the next day he told me he could fully fix my car for $6.5k within 1-1.5 weeks. I told him I was just considering moving on and buying a new car instead, which is probably why he gave me that timeframe. I believed he actually cared about my situation and agreed to go ahead with the repairs, he came over to my house and collected $4k of the $6.5k for initial parts and labor. After 4 weeks of back and forth and excuses from Josh about parts being slow, he called me to say that they'd mysteriously found another broken component (part of the A/C system) that would require an additional $1.5k for parts and labor, to be paid immediately in order to continue work. I asked him how much longer it would be at that point, he said "2 weeks." I didn't have a choice but to give him the money to continue work even though I was getting skeptical at this point, now my total was going to be more like $8k. Work was starting to stretch on well past the time he promised and I couldn't rely on rides from family and friends anymore, the strain was great, so I had to buy a cheap car to ride in the meantime for $2k. Finally on July 12th after more frustration and mechanical issues from the cheap car I was driving, I asked to my see my car in person, Josh agreed and said next Friday would be best, I agreed. I came in and the car looked exactly the same as 5 weeks prior, in fact from pictures on June 14th and July 19th, it looked to be in the exact same spot. Hardly any work had been done on June 14th even. Josh pitched me a story about ordering the wrong A/C part twice, causing the delay. Right. I expressed my frustration and he said he could have the car done in a week. Well, the next Friday I texted him again to check in, to no response. I was realizing that I was potentially the victim of a scam but didn't want to believe someone could run a business this terribly, it's laughably bad. After reading reviews on Revdex.com and elsewhere I realized this was not a new procedure for Josh. On July 30th I texted him and said I would be coming in to see the car in person again, I did, and the car was in the exact same spot, with no work done on it. Exact same spot since June 14th with literally nothing done on it, guts totally exposed to the elements sitting outside as the body was stripped off. We are now sitting at 11 weeks and running on 3 months of almost no work done, $5.5k collected from me, an additional $2k in transportation costs as I've had to buy this crap car to drive around, and no end in sight. I am now exploring my legal options moving forward.

8-15 PH CC to , spoke with Nicholas, who said he would like the consumer to get in touch with him concerning complaint. Forwarding to consumer.

On 3/29/19, Josh from A-Z stopped by our house and completed an inspection on a 1957 Imperial after an engine fire. He agreed to work on the repairs to include engine work, body issues, fix any rust and paint work. We also agreed for him to paint a hood of a 1960 Thunderbird. We signed an invoice for the work and provided him with $2000 cash for a down payment. On this date, he took possession of the 1957 Imperial and the 1960 hood. On 3/30/19, Josh came to the house and picked up seven new, original parts for the 1957 Imperial that would be used on the repair to help decrease the cost of repairs. A list of these parts can be provided if needed. On 3/31/19 I hit a deer with my 2019 Traverse. On 4/1/19 we agreed to have A-Z repair the Traverse and would have it back in 10 days at the most. Geico (Insurance company for the Traverse) provided an estimate of around $7700 to repair the Traverse. On 4/5/19, Josh came to pick up an air compressor that we were selling. Back on 3/29, we agreed on a price of $250 for the air compressor. On 4/16/19, A-Z was issued and cashed a check from Geico for $7200. For weeks (from the beginning until 6/3/19), we were given reason after reason on why work had not been done and many failed attempts occurred to receive invoices for parts for the Traverse and insurance claims for the Imperial. The reasons included wrong parts being sent, waiting on parts, to him not having the money for parts (remember the Traverse insurance money was already paid), secretary out of the office, and him having to pay for his daughter's wedding. On 6/3/19, I drive to the shop to check on the cars and the Traverse is in the parking lot with additional parts removed and my Imperial is sitting outside with parts removed and windows partially down. On inspection, there were exposed holes with rust and a collection of standing water on the bowl on the trunk (see pictures). I had the Imperial towed back to our house that evening so we could store it properly. We notified Hagerty (insurance company for the Imperial) of the concerns and to not pay A-Z any insurance money if they requested it (no work had been done on the Imperial). On 6/5/19, Josh agreed to return $1700 of the $2000 cash down payment (see attached document) and return Imperial parts. The Traverse was parked in the shops parking lot without movement (we have pictures to document this) until 7/1/19. On this date, we notified A-Z they were to cease all work on our cars and to provide us with the Traverse, all parts for the Traverse, and parts for the Imperial at 5:30pm on 7/1/19. We went to the shop at 5:30 that day and took possession of the Traverse, 3 Traverse parts (they appear new, but waiting on dealership to inspect them) and 3 of the Imperial parts. On inspection of the Imperial parts, they have water damage and Josh from A-Z admitted they were stored in his basement which flooded recently. These parts are ruined and can not be used on the Imperial (see attachment). The Traverse was towed to another body shop for repair at our expense.

As you can see, this is a very complex situation. We have multiple pictures, documents, and text messages to document communication from the beginning in March through July. At this point, Geico states they have paid the insurance money to the A-Z shop, and to them, the claim is closed and they are not able to help us. A-Z has told us they do not have the money to refund us for the parts they did not purchase and the labor they did not complete. To us, A-Z agreed to provide a service to us, was paid money for the service, but failed to provide the service. In addition, they have caused additional damage to our property and have cost us additional expenses (towing costs).
As far as a resolution, we would like the insurance money that was paid to A-Z from Geico so we can have the Traverse fixed properly, A-Z to pay for any additional damage to the Traverse, payment from A-Z for damage to the Imperial from failing to store it properly, and payment for the damaged Imperial parts.

A-Z was to paint my hood on my 2008 Chevy truck for $600 included in paint job was to strip paint off hood down to metal because paint was flaking off and that is what Josh told me he would do for the $600 . The paint job took 3 more weeks than what Iwas told it would take . I went to pick up truck and could tell they did not strip hood as I was told it would be. I pointed it out to Josh the son of owner and he told me he would schedule me back in when they had a opening to redo hood .I have many text messages confirming they did not strip hood and they would redo hood and strip paint. They finally told they had opening to get truck in and redo hood .I took truck back to them on 10/28/18 Josh said they would have it done following Friday 11/2/18 they had truck until 11/23/18 and still had not even started on it . I went picked up truck that day when I get there they could not find my key fob and key for truck. They keep telling me all kind of excuses about my keys but still have not found my Keys . I have been told on kind of excuses why they did not get to redoing my hood as I was told they would . I would like $300 of the $600 I paid for paint job and the cost $50 to have a new key fob and key to be replaced .I do not trust these guys at all anymore and just want a partial refund and cost of key and fob they cannot find .

yes we did agree to redo the hood and paint if the issue was our fault or chipping because something we did or did not do. Even though we knew we did things right we still agreed to redo the hood, but upon observation we notice it was a ROCK chip that was not caused by us! HIGHLY APOLOGIZE ABOUT THE KEY AND WE CAN REPLACE THE KEY RATHER IT'S FOUND OR NOT ! TAKING FULLY RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE KEY AND WILL REPLACE THE KEY ! HIGHLY APOLOGIZE FOR ALL THE MISHAP AND REALLY WOULD LIKE TO GET THINGS HANDLE AND SORRY FOR EVERYTHING ON OUR END AND WHATEVER WE CAN DO TO FIX THESE ISSUES WE WILL .

Customer Response • Nov 28, 2018

The response is wrong . My complaint is they did not strip old paint from hood. That is what I contracted for and I have contract and text messages between Josh the owners si

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: The contract was to strip old paint from hood before repainting . They did not strip hood and it is obvious they did not strip hood as contract and text messages state. It has nothing to do with chips in hood as seller response states .They did so many things wrong with paint job but my complaint is they did not strip hood down to metal .The key was lost by them and needs to be replaced .

Regards

One Stop Auto Body Repairs & Classic Restoration Response • Nov 05, 2018

customer wanted us to do extra work and labor for the same price. customer stated that he had all his parts and materials to fix the vehicle, which he did not have anything. I had to purchase what was available for that year and model volkswagon. A-Z do not mind doing a little extra for the costumer, but we can not be taken advantage of and when the customer start expecting us to cover thousands of dollars we can not cover that much. customer wanted us to do all these extra things for the same amount agreed to on the invoice. He also had us pick up vehicle from another autobody shop which he wasn't happy with there work either, that also caused us to go over someone else work. customer wanted us to do interior work which was not agreed to om the contract. We have more than enough satisfied customers, and if any of our customers have a issue we have no problem doing what we need to do to fix it BUT WE CAN NOT BE RUSHED ! we offered to fix all issues and asked customer to bring car down in April to do so . We will do what it takes to make this customer satisfied .

A-Z has agreed to repaint the car. They have until December 21,2018 to get it done , he said he would.

Shop was paid to replace and paint my front bumper, replace fog lights, and replace the grill of my vehicle after
an accident. I have the invoice. They did not replace the grill which the clips became broken when they put it on the new bumper. They did not replace my fog lights or even reconnect the ones that I had even though they knew
I was about to drive from Ohio to Arizona. They did replace and paint the bumper, however the bumper was not put on correctly which I can prove with pictures. Most of the screws are missing and the plastic between the
bumper and the tires is not screwed down leaving my car very dangerous. At first, they told me to go get it fixed and they would paypal me for the costs. I went and got an estimate and they said they would only
send me a new grill and $150.00. Ever since then, they have been telling me to call back next week for 3 months. This repair happened in July. Everytime I talk to them, they say call me back the following week.
This is not OK and my car is worse off then it was before.
Being that

We paid a $1000 insurance deductible for this customer , and we had to go through the insurance company and do what they said and was paying for us to do. We can only do what the insurance company allows us to do ! we contacted the insurance company after the job was completed and insurance company was satisfied. we are off on every sunday cust. still we meet cust. each time on a Sunday so we do what we can and go above and beyond for the customers , we also gave him $150 for a light and to make sure he made it home safe due to the fact he stated he had no money to make it home. please understand my position with some of the customers we try or best sometimes thats not enough. we dont mind helping all but we cant pay thousands for the customer. this was a insurance job and we have to listen to insurance company and the things they wanted e to do since they were satisfied I dont understand

Complaint: ***

I am rejecting this response because: They did not do all the work my insurance paid them to do. My insurance agreed that not all of the work was done and sent me an invoice for what was supposed to be completed. None of the shops explanation even assesses that they did not complete the work. My deductible was only $500 and they didnt pay anything. They received a check from my insurance to do a full job and all they did was replace the bumper. they did not replace the fog lights or the grill and didnt bolt down any of the plastic molding underneath the bumper. The bumper is put on incorrectly and not flush against the headlight causing the bumper to bow. The shop did send me $150 but also promised to send more to cover the costs of having it redone and also said multiple times they would send a new grill for my car like they were supposed to do.

Sorry it took so long. I sent you the refund.

Customer Response • Oct 07, 2019

I need to reopen this case. They sent a message that they sent a payment to me but have sent no response as to how and will not answer my texts by phone. I have received nothing from them or no indication on how they sent me the money or when.

I had A-Z do a complete paint job on my 1990 Suburban and he initially quoted me 1500-1800. I said I would like to meet so he could give a solid quote based a review of the truck, we meet and he looked the truck over and then quoted me 3000. I agreed and said that was more in line with what was needed and we discussed what he would do to prep the truck (remove all trim, handles, mirrors, bumpers etc), We also agreed that the door jambs weather-stripping would be removed and the jambs would be cleaned and painted. They did not remove the weather-stripping on the barn doors and when they removed the weather-stripping on the passenger doors they broke some of the interior trim. We agreed the windows would not be removed. The truck was solid with very minor rust bubbles (2 places each about the size of a thumb nail) He said the would cut out the rust and weld in panels, I guess we will know in a year when the bubbles reappear. He also did not remove any of the trim and had his people tape around everything, the pictures clearly show overspray on everything handles, mirrors, trim, bumpers etc. There are also runs in the paint, some as large a 1 inch by 3 inch's. He told me it would take him 2 to 3 weeks but after 7 weeks he calls and says he needs more money (750) to do the job right. I then said what is the additional money for and he says to metal work the doors and remove the waves. I agree to pay 500 more to get the job done right. Guess what the job was not done right!!! I will be taking him to small claims to get some of the money back so I can fix the obvious thigs. Josh talks a good game but his shops work is as stated amateur at best. Josh is big on saying that he wants to get it right but does not.
