One Stop for Churches Reviews (4)

One Stop for Churches misrepresented their practices, did not deliver items within the promised timeframe and continued to provide false info. [redacted] met with the owner on [redacted] regarding purchasing pew chairs, audio equipment, and a few other items. The church signed the contract and loan papers at the beginning of Jan. The church was informed that the chairs would be provided by the end of Feb as well as other items. The Pastor begin making phone calls to owner when no info was received. The owner finally sent an invoice for the purchased items, but it included an up charge on most of the items from the first meeting. The Pastor was then inform that it was a simple mistake of the keystroke and it could be easily corrected. Items that were $600 were marked as $800. The Pastor also noted listed items that were not ordered by the church so the owner then provided another excuse for those mistakes. The church still has not received the chairs and has made several payments on the loan company because the loan who works exclusive with the store owner issued the store owner the funds. The church can produce all emails as well as cell phone logs were calls were not answered. Bait and Switch practices and fraudulent practices. Desired SettlementDelivery fees and refund for payments made for loan when merchandise was not on hand. Did not provide product we ordered will not refund our deposit after promising to do so.Approximately in Feb or Mar of this year our church organization ordered two different types of chairs from Betty H[redacted] at One Stop for Churches in Memphis. The armless chairs she had in stock at a warehouse and we paid for those in full and they were delivered promptly. The chairs with armrests were to be ordered and delivered by Apr so we paid half as a deposit ($749.85). We have yet to receive any product. I have had limited conversation with the store or Betty H[redacted] as it seems they are avoiding the situation. I spoke with Betty several weeks ago and said she would mail us a refund check. After several weeks passed,I contacted her Oct 19 and she told me a check would be at the store Oct 20 for my wife to pick up. No check was there and she would not answer any calls. We have been more than patient and polite and need help for a resolution.I can provide copy of the original invoice if needed. Desired SettlementRefundFinal Consumer Response We received a certified refund check on November 9 2015. Thank you for you'd help and the service you provide to the community.Senatobia First United Methodist Church.

Our Church paid for 400 chairs and was promised delivery in December 2015. After numerous broken promises we would like our money to be returned. Our Church paid for the delivery of 400 chairs which were promised to us early December 2015. We have been extremely patient with Betty H[redacted] and have had numerous broken promises from her over the course of several months. We were called to receive delivery twice; However, the first delivery only included 12 chairs. The second delivery was a month later and included another 100 chairs and several of those chairs were defective. We have been told the chairs were coming from China. We have been told the manufacturer was experiencing issues. Were we told she was in litigation with the shipping company and we have been told that we would receive telephone updates, which never occurs. We now would like our funds returned and her firm can have the 100+ chairs we are not using.Desired SettlementWe are storing the 100+ chairs we have received thus far and we would like to return those chairs. Additionally, we are seeking a full refund to cover the 400+ chairs we order and paid for in full.Business Response Sorry for the delay in respondingWe have spoken with the customer several times concerning his order. We explained the warehouse in the USA only had 100 ready to ship. When the container from China arrives the other 300 chairs would be shipped. We shipped the 100 at no shipping cost to the customer - we barred that expense. Also we customized 12 designer fabric chairs and shipped out at no additional cost as well. On our last conversation with Pastor [redacted], Jr. he agreed to accept the delivery scheduled for the month of May.Betty H[redacted]

We purchased pews from vendor in hopes of getting what we paid for. However when the pews arrived they were not what we ordered.Pews ordered and paid for on Feb. 13, 2013. They were delivered faulty on June 3,2013. Pew problems: White ends without the designs, top rails were split, ends of pews were coming off during worship service, white particle board supports that the pew maker later informed us would not hold up and are now splitting, particle board supports had wooden shoes that are now pulling apart, particle board supports also have a sharp end that could cause bodily harm to someone, the back of the pews are now wrinkled because of taking rail off and putting them back on over the last six months, top rails on the pews are not uniformed. Vendor also led us to believe that the company that she was using to make pews had been in business making pews for over four generations. However the person she used to make the pews, this was their first time. They were primary cabinet makers. We have tried for six months to get this issue resolved. We have been constantly taken on a rollercoaster ride.Desired SettlementWe the [redacted] Church would like the vendor to redo all pews within 30 days or we would like to be refunded the amount of purchase, $17,600.00.Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)In our response to the statement given by One Stop for Churches, after the Revdex.com trying to contact them over two or three months ago: Our position is that this statement if far from the truth. We the [redacted] has not received any satisfaction or relief from this business. We have only received lies and empty promises.[redacted].
