O'Neal Roofing & Restoration

Paid 5,200.00 for new roofing - have multiple water leaks when rains. Have contacted [redacted] O'Neal several times asking for repairs and sent picturesPaid [redacted] O'Neal roofing $5,200.00 for roof replacement Originally gave deposit on May 6, 2016 for replacement of roofing. It was to include removal of existing roof, install new roof, new pipe boots, new drip edge, new rubber roof (on rear flat roofing on our sunroom)and new vent ridge.Total cost was originally quoted as 5000.00 total. We took money from our equity line to pay for replacement of roof. Before he finished job he told us that he did not calculate money for roof vent. So I went to our bank and withdrew 200.00 cash to cover the cost of the roof vent ridge. We originally saw there was an issue with rubber roofing when put on because they did not knock down nails from old roofing. O'Neal roofing doctored a repair by cutting 2" or larger in some areas of black rubber and placed it over the white rubber roof installed. Then once complete we gave O'Neal remainder of 2500.00 cash from our equity line. total paid 5200.00. As soon as they left I surveyed the complete job. I noticed that the ridge vent had not been installed correctly. I telephoned Mr. O'Neal and he returned in a few days with a different worker and fixed the vent ridge. However when they installed the original replacement roof they also removed some siding from home.evidently it was not put back correctly as we now have many leaks in our home that we did not have from before . I have contracted Mr. O'Neal several times via phone calls & text messages & sent pictures. First pictures sent 05/17/2016 & 05/21/2016 & 05/30/2016 showing water leaks & also texts on same dates. 07/31/2016 more pictures sent 08/11/2016. When we spoke with Mr. O'Neal he said that he was 4 hours away and that we should get someone else to fix the roof because he is located too far away and that he did not have the money to come and fix issues. He lives in [redacted] I live in [redacted] I asked him have a [redacted] based roofing company to take a look at the problems.I actually didn't do the shingle job I subed the job to another rooing company!I have tried to contact them no response! If the customer wants to talk futher about it he can call me.Consumer Response we have contacted O'Neil Roofing on several occasions and sent multiple text msg with pictures showing leaks throughout the house after we paid $5,200.00. We took a loan on our property to pay O'Neil roofing. We were given a guarantee on the work. I did not hire subs to do the job but I did hire O'Neil and dealt solely with [redacted] O'Neil. Yes he did make a trip back to try to repair leaks and a second trip to cut the roof so the ridge cap he installed would vent but I still have multiple leaks in the roof in several areas and I have contacted and sent pictures yet again and I was told by [redacted] O'Neil to find another contractor that was closer to me because he could not afford to come back and properly complete the job. If he does not know what he is doing then he should not be in business. I am 100% positive that if he hired someone to do a job like this such as we hired him he would not be satisfied with the current situation that he has left us in. So basically he robbed us of our money and has left us with a mess Final Business Response I have replied to [redacted] several times. I went back to his house twice to fix the leaks he still had. He asked me to cut corners to save money and I explained I could not guarantee patch work. I offered to pay someone local to him to correct whatever problem he says he still has. If he is not willing to do that he will need to wait until I am able to go there and do it myself. I have told him this several times. I am at this point only waiting for his response.In all my years this is the only complaint I have had against my company or any of my work.
