Review: Ongley Forest Products, Inc. timbered property owned by us at [redacted] in January & February 2013 have not returned or contacted us regarding their assurance of trails on property being restored to condition they were in before timbering. They did send a bull dozer to property in March, which only made the condition much worse. They have not returned phone calls regarding this issue since March 2013.Desired Settlement: Ongley Forest Products,Inc. restore trails on property as promised, or a financial settlement to hire a contractor to restore trails.

I am writing you this letter concerning this complaint files as ID [redacted]. In response to this matter, let me say that in my 21 years in this field this is among the strangest complaints that I have ever heard. After we had purchased the standing timber from these people ( and we left about 15% of the standing timber that we did purchase), it just seemed to be one thing after another with these people. We have already performed many services/favors to these people that we did not contractually have to do. For one, we gave these people $ 500.00 worth of free firewood and cut and stacked the wood for them by their shed, at their request as a favor, and to give them free wood for their camp for this year, which in the past they had always had to pay for.

Two, we spent about a day and a half of our own time and labor removing many pine trees from the front of their camp that they did not like the view of We cut and removed these trees for them, which would have cost them hundreds of dollars to hire someone to do. We did this as a favor, donating our time and equipment to do this work with no value at all to us. Again trying to keep a good working relationship.

Shortly after we completed the logging of this property, and after having already done dozer work on t^e property to clean up our log landing and skid roads. They began to complain, so ve spent $900.00 just in trucking alone, w take a bulldozer back to the property to clean up all of their trails. These landowners spent 2 days going through the woods with our worker ( another 16hrs of free labor on our part). They showed him everything that they wanted done, most of which honestly was unreasonable and went far above and beyond what most logging companies ( including us ) would normally do to clean up a logging job. After these 2 days these people and our worker shook hands and we thought all was well.

Then a few months later they called complaining again.( wanting more free work done). We have already cleaned this property up twice, there is nothing left to do. In our experiences, although very rare, sometimes you do logging for people that cannot be satisfied. My brother and I are fifth generation loggers with a lifetime of experience, and we know how valuable it is to keep a good name, at the end of the day thafs all you have. We have been with the Revdex.com for many years now, and have satisfied hundreds of property owners during that time and this is the first compliant.

Unfortunately for us, none of these people write to the Revdex.com to tell you what a good job we did. We have much more than met any and all obligations to these people contractually or otherwise. And although we always try our very best to please everyone, we honestly feel that trying to do anymore to try to please these people would be an exercise in futility. In our honest professional opinion, this is another attempt by these people to either get more work done on their property or free money, or both.

In closing I would just say that it saddens me that our first complaint every with you in 7+ years of good honest business is something so bogus. But in a business like ours sometimes people try to get something for nothing, or in this case I guess something else for nothing. Thanks you for your time and we are looking forward to many more good years in our relationship. But let me say again from where we stand we more than did anything and everything we could to satisfy these people and we consider this matter closed.

We do realize what Ongley did as extras, (they left us trees that could not be used as Timber to be cut for firewood, they cut six pine trees and moved them not more than 25 feet,a bulldozer sent to try and clean up mess, only contributed to the destruction.

We believe they have missed why we are upset, which is we were assured trails and property would be left in as good or better condition after they were done. The person who came with dozer said it was more than he could handle, he was totally surprised at the mess we were in.

In the past we had a Forest Consultant, and in talking with a few of them recently, as well as Bureau of Forestry, they were not surprised as they have heard this complaint before and do not recoment Ongley.

They timbered approximatly 12 Oak trees from our back yard which we were unaware were in the contract. As far as leaving 15% staandding timber they say they purchased, it must be laying on the ground.

WE WLL NOT CONTNE WTH THS COMPLANT (their word against ours). Hopefully we have learned from our mistake and will not be as trusting in the future.
