Revdex.com [redacted] Dispute Resolution Specialist Complaint ID: [redacted], We have been in business for over 40 years, always taking pride in caring for our customers. Handling complaints in a fair and reasonable manner is one of the most important things...

that we do. Taking care of our customers is simply the right thing to do and it's good business. I'm not sure Mrs. [redacted] knows exactly what happened to her sleeper mattress. I think there is a possibility and very likely, that her dogs and cats used the mattress while she was at work. The numerous puncture holes are an indication that this is what happened. I believe the holes were caused by animal claws. Please review the pictures that I have included with this letter. We did offer to sell her a new memory foam mattress at our wholesale cost plus freight and sales tax which we believe she agreed to. When we followed through with getting the new mattress she refused to pay for it saying it should be covered as a warranty claim. She has one other option and that is to pay for a new replacement air bladder for her mattress $110 plus tax (our wholesale cost). The bottom line is that the damage to her mattress occurred in Mrs. [redacted] home and is not a legitimate warranty claim. Mrs. [redacted] complaint is simply a matter of her not taking responsibility for the damage to her sleeper mattress. Regards,  Dale Seaba ugh — President Highland Furniture Center

I am rejecting this response because: My pets are NOT in the house unless I am home. The large holes in the air mattress were NOT there when it was in my house. I could inflate the mattress and sleep on it all night and it would be PARTIALLY deflated in the morning. If the holes were as large as in the photo when at my home, the mattress would not hold air of more then a few minutes. Damage like that may have come from how the mattress was handled after it left my home.  In reference to the holes on the BOTTOM of the mattress, I am at a loss as to how they got there. The mesh the mattress rests on is pristine. Either these holes were present at time of purchase, were a result of my sleeping in it without the air mattress being inflated, which I was told would be fine to do, or they are a result of how the mattress was transported after it left my home. This mattress has a 5 year warranty. All I am asking is to be treated with the respect I deserve as a paying customer. I purchased this piece of furniture in good faith, paid in full at time of purchase on the recommendation of a family member who has since had problems with the air mattress on the their sofa as well.

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 10, 2015/05/22) */
I sent the man who did the mortar work back to [redacted] Aurora, MO. two times after Mr. [redacted] complained about the mortar on the bricks. Both times he assured me that he had taken care of the problem. By then we were into...

winter, and the work could not be done in the cold, or the rain. The last time I talked to Mr. [redacted] I told him that I would get up there that weekend. It rained all weekend. I was preparing to go the following week, but he wrote a review on my company [redacted] page in which he stated that he had hired a different company to do the work.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 12, 2015/05/25) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I sent an email message to Mr. [redacted] April 4, 2015 stating in part, "If you do not clean the mortar off the bricks before I get back to Aurora later this month, I will provide photos and an explanation to the Revdex.com and consider options to recover the cost of hiring another contractor to clean up what your company was paid to do." Mr. [redacted] never responded to my email. When I arrived in Aurora, weeks later, the problem had not been addressed. On April 25, 2015 I posted a review to Mark Four's web site, stating in part, "I finally gave up on Mike and have hired another company to finish the work I paid Mark Four to do months ago. Nobody would buy the house the way Mark Four left it looking." However, the other company declined my request to clean up the brick after seeing it and learning that the mortar had set into the brick face for at least 6 months. Mark Four had all winter and much of the spring to clean up the mess but chose not to do it.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 15, 2015/06/03) */
I am willing to clean the brick now. I did not choose to not do it. I was not able to do it, because of several financial setbacks I suffered in the Fall of last year. I was involved in an accident that totaled my vehicle and was unable to work for more than a week. By the time I got another vehicle, the early onset of winter had severely limited my business. None of these things have I offered as excuses to Mr. [redacted]. From his point of view I was remiss in my obligation to fulfill his contract. I am not disputing that. I also have offered to redress his grievance at this time. I am willing to come out and clean the brick at this time. Or reimburse him [redacted] Or, clean the brick, and pay him [redacted] to remove the negative review from my [redacted] page. I have worked hard to protect my reputation since I started my company, and have many satisfied customers. Mr. [redacted] can be happy that his negative review has cost me new business, and that an unresolved complaint with the Revdex.com will cost me more new business in the future. But I am unable comply with his demand of [redacted] I deeply regret what has happened with Mr. [redacted]'s mother's home. I have offered to do what I am able to do at this time. If this is unacceptable to Mr. [redacted] I will accept that, and work hard to try to repair my standing in the community going forward.
Final Consumer Response /* (2000, 17, 2015/06/04) */
(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I reluctantly accept Mr. [redacted]'s proposed resolution to refund [redacted] provided the refund is received within the next 10 days, but I do not want his company to do any further work at my Mother's house. I take no pleasure in affecting his future business with my negative review on his web site, but the review is completely factual and fair.
