I am rejecting this response because: I partially accept the response Yes dean the owner did apologize He has offered to pay for the electrician to connect the attic fan as outlined in their contract The offer was made on sept 7th There has been some difficulty in hiring the electrician due to the extreme heat but I hope to do this within the next week As far as the issue of dean receiving my complaint ,the timeline is as follows: the date of the incident (application of the new roof) occurred on August 3rd At no time after the application of the new roof did I ever get a customer survey nor the warranty, something that dean told me that I would receive when I spoke to him on sept 7th I reached out to dean via *** *** and got an unsatisfactory reply via email I spoke with the office manager on septwho stated that she was going to have dean call me I filed my complaint on sept 4th with the Revdex.com I heard from dean on sept 7th To date I still waiting for the customer survey and the warranty

I am rejecting this response because:My complaint is not is regards to the response time of the repair man on 2/17/2015.  My complaint is in regards to the below1.  The gentleman who showed up at my house advised me that his repair might not prevent future leaking and cannot guarantee I will not have further leaks. So to me, this is not remedying the situation as stated by the company.  2.  Advised that they will need to come back when it warms up and cut that portion of the roof out and repair it the right way---I wanted to discuss this [redacted] so I had better idea as to when the repair will take place instead of a time frame of "when the weather warms up" Also to discuss why a product I had installed 5 months ago and paid $10,000 for failed already.  This was not a small purchase and I expected a more detailed explanation of the failure of my new roof and the scheduling of the proper repair3.  The person who showed up to fix the leak advised me this part of the roof was not sealed properly from the initial installation of the roof. We have reimbursed Ms. [redacted] for her required electrical work. [redacted]Only The Best Builder installed a complete roofing system on 9/27/14. Not 10/1/2014 as indicated in his complaint. Provided as attachments are copies of the original proposal dated 9/14/2014 and change order completed the day we finished the project dated 9/27/14.Facts of the project. Mr [redacted] home had a 2 layer roof shingle roof with a flat tar roof in the rear and carport area. The main roof at some point in time was covered over with plywood that was installed over a Gravel and hot tar roof and the original roof sheathing.  plywood. This situation was completely unforeseen and unexpected. As evident in the change order attached, we removed all of the roofing that was both a structural hazard and blatant code violation. In doing this it created massive amounts of costly labor intensive repair work. As evident in the change order attached, we also discovered that the rear lower flat roof was leaking for many years and required us to completely rebuild that area as indicated in items 3, 4 &5. This is the area that a small leak developed on 2/17/2015. The area includes a False Steel Chimney that was used to hide the heater vent stack that comes through the roof. This type of decorative pieces are re-used as was in this situation due to the high cost of creating a better solution.  We have photos that show the area in question and the extensive leaking that was there prior to our roof installation. Also in this area, the kitchen ceiling fan was lag bolt screwed into the roof decking. This again posed a serious problem that is not proper attachment of an electrical appliance.   We remdied this situation t no charge as evident in the attached documents. On 2/17/2015 Mr [redacted] contacted our office at 9:48 am and 9:49 am as wells as via text at 9:45 am. By 10:00 am he was Contacted by our Project Manager [redacted] who immediately left and was at Mr [redacted] in under 1 hour total from time of call to arrival time.[redacted] knocked on the door, introduced himself asked to see the area of leak and then proceeded up on the roof. The area of concern was a flashing detail around the false chimney. The current roof system is a [redacted] roof that uses adhesive tapes to flash corners and seams. With the ambient temperature for the preceding days being a 40 degree swing (weatherunderground.com), as well as snow melting and refreezing on the roof, thermal expansion caused a tiny leak that allowed water to penetrate the roof surface. We completed a proper repair by an standard on the area and the roof has not leaked even with the rain and snow from the days that followed. It must be noted that in the time since the roof was completed there were no leaks at all. This leak is a direct result of the extreme weather that has been in the area. Mr [redacted] roof in that area is unique because Hot Exahust gases from the standard type gas furnace super heats the area around the roof causing water to melt under the snow and refreeze as it hits the out side air. This thaw and refreeze action causing exp[ansion and has lifted a seam in the flashing tape of the chimney.  [redacted] stated to Mr. [redacted] that as soon as the weather ids warmer and we can properly work with the materials, we will come back and redo the flashing in that area to make sure it doesn't happen again. Please note that attached also are the original invoice and statement showing that OTB trusted Mr [redacted] to make the payments over time and NEVER took a deposit or any money until the entire project was complete. Yet he feels he does not trust us to return to re-evaluate the situation. We find this appalling after all the discounts and special considerations we took the accomodate his project. Mr [redacted] did contact us after he was clearly explained by the person in charge of repair work that they will return to take a second look at the flashing detail when the warm weather allows. He called  2 times at 11:30 again at 11:32 texted at 11:36 and again at 4:59. He did this back and forth on several of the company phone lines for days. We found this behavior both alarming and strange. We as a company had far and exceed any obligation we had to remedy a situation for a customer. We clearly explained what we found. What we did and what are final plan was. We felt it was best to let the situation cool down due to his  aggressive strange behavior. Mr [redacted] roof as far as we know is not leaking now after another snow storm and full day of rain. We have lived up to our commitment to take care of any workmanship issues. This complaint is purely an act that is not warranted because this company far and exceeded our obligation to fair proactices. It is Mr. [redacted] who is being extremely unreasonable and has not returned our call. Let it be clear that we just had the coldest weather in a decade and that is THE REASON he had an issue on his roof.

We are unsure why this customer issued a compliant to Revdex.com. We have diligently spoken with this customer and have been waiting for over a week for the client to provide us an invoice from a properly licensed electrician to fix her existing electrical problem that is related to the new fan we...

properly installed in her roof. According to NJ Law and code, we are NOT permitted to alter an electric circuit. We have heard her concerns and reacted timely in every contact she had with us.Still unsure what else we can do.

Review: We had this company install a brand new roof approx October 2014. We were informed the plywood also need to be removed and replaced completely,, so we did. They tore our roof off to the studding and replaced everything brand new. On Tuesday, (2/17/2015) I was at home and heard dripping. I located the leak and it was coming in and dripping on my brand new furnace. I turned it off (to prevent electrical damage) and attempted to call the company, they did not answer. I then sent a text message to the owner (he previously supplied me and advised if I ever have any issues to call him or text him) about 20 minutes later I get a call from one of his employees. He arrived and located the cause of the leak and advised he can temporarily fix it, but “isn't sure if it will prevent the leaking”. He also advised this portion of the roof was was not sealed properly from the original installation. Also, they will need to come back once it gets warmer to cut this part of the roof out and permanently fix it the correct way, since then I have left about 6 voice mail messages between his business line and his cell and a few texts to the owner to discuss this issue with him, I have not received any communications back from him.

Dates of attempted Contact Feb 17, Feb 18, Feb 19. By a combination of phone both business and cell and text messaging. I gave him Friday Feb 20-Monday morning Feb 23 to contact me back, and his company has not contact me back to discuss the permanent repairs of my roof.

I called once again prior to submitting this )Feb 23, 2015 at 12:35pm ESTDesired Settlement: I want a full explanation of the defective portion of the roof and I need to discuss the timeframe of the full repair.
