OpenAireAffairs Reviews (1)

Review: I entered into a Contract with Open Aire Affairs and [redacted] Winery regarding a wedding that was supposed to take place on June 1, 2013. Due to circumstances beyond my control, the wedding date had to be changed. Open Aire Affairs agreed in conjunction with [redacted] Winery to change the date of the wedding. Due to monetary constrictions that were not otherwise avoidable, we were no longer able to host our wedding at the [redacted] Winery on September 13, 2014. [redacted] Winery refunded half of our deposit as requested and I called and asked to speak with the person in charge of Open Aire Affairs to discuss possible alternative arrangements for the deposit of $2125.00. Initially, I requested a refund of half of my deposit as there was plenty of time to re-book the wedding date and was told that was not possible due to the Contract that was signed on September 8, 2012. I was very upset when speaking with [redacted] and asked if other arrangements could be made so I did not lose the deposit. I suggested since we will need a tent for the wedding anyway, that I be able to use the $2125.00 deposit towards the tents/tables rental at a different venue and was told that would be a much better solution/suggestion to offer [redacted]'s boss. [redacted] seemed hopeful her boss would agree to this solution. I was told [redacted] would get back to me as she refused to allow me to speak with her boss. I also asked to address a clause in the Contract that states, "Agreements offered by Open Aire Affairs and [redacted] Winery are valid for 30 days after the 'Contract Creation' date. After that time, the agreements are invalid and new contracts must be created." If that statement is true, I should be entitled to a full refund of my $2125.00 as another contract was never created. I understand I entered an agreement with Open Aire Affairs; however, I never received information in writing or otherwise regarding a possible solution to getting my money back or utilizing my deposit towards the rental of tents/tables at another venue. I also feel it is unprofessional not to allow a customer to speak directly to the person making decisions with regards to their deposits. It should also be noted that Open Aire Affairs never charged my deposit until 31 days after I signed the original contract on September 8, 2012.Desired Settlement: I would like to get a refund of the deposit that was given to Open Aire Affairs, or I would like to be able to utilize the $2125.00 deposit towards the tents/tables rentals at my wedding venue on the same date.
