Initial Business Response /* (1000, 13, 2016/09/07) */
This customer did indeed come in for an oil changeAnd this make and model car does have two skid plates underneath itThe one we touch, remove, and put back is NOT the plate in questionMr*** has only been to our shop twice, and his
story doesn't add upHe has been in 9/28/and 3/8/16, and that's itHe didn't file his complaint until 8/9/MONTHS LATER ????? When Mr*** did come in he verbally abused several employeesOnce I was able to calm him down, he showed me both plates in his trunk that he took offthe one with damage (and in question) is not even the one we touchI asked him if he hit anything recently, he said he did several months back from Augwhen he was in a church parking lot in North Carolina then after that he heard noises from under the carBut once he got back to Peoria he never called our shop or stopped inOur phone number is on the receiptHe then told me that he flies over the speed bumps on Prospect in Peoria, and laughed about it, then after that is when he went to dealership, again he didn't call or come inNot until the dealer told him the inflated price of the skid plate did he get angryWe cant control manufactures cost on parts you break and need to re-buySo we believe Mr*** being an older driver, driving a newer, quieter, sits lower to the ground carThat he misjudged the parking block in North Carolina and cracked the plate then, and driving aggressive over traffic control devices probably didn't helpHe never came back into the shop after his trip to North Carolina and months is a long time to drive your car around and crash into thingsHe never called the shopThe bolts in question on the skid plate our all of the threaded variety, so even IF we left them loose would not just "fall out"We are a legit shop, with insuranceIf we did anything wrong we try 120% to make it rightWe have won several awards including Journal Star Best Of The Best We take pride in our jobs and have great workers and an even greater company behind usWe *** submit diagram of plates and the one he cracked and claimed we didThanks for the opportunity to address this complaint.::
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 15, 2016/09/08) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
The only reason it took so long to submit this is because we are doing a lot of work on our home and I did not have time to make this complaint to the Revdex.comI went in to the business as soon as I came back from the trip to St Louis and explained what happenedThe manager with the parts and he was glad I approched him with the problem and said he would talke to the owner about it and to come back the next dayI did that and he said the owner didn't come in yet and to come back which I did the next day and he then told me it was my fault because I ran over a parking stop and walked offYes I yelled as he walked off at him that the reason the splash pan hit the parking stop was because the bolts that hold the two splash pans on were missing and this allowed the front pan to hung down and contact the parking stopThe manager would not give me the name of the owner and phone number to call and talk about the problemI have and will not ever have work done and this business again and have told all of my friends not to use them because they will not stand by their workThe facts are at miles after they changed the oil on my car bolts that hold the front and rear splash pans on were missingThis allowed the front pan to hang down low enough to hit the parking stopThe rear pan had no bolts left in it and was turned side ways was wedged in the front pan and the frameIt was very lucky that it was still under the car and was not missing or damagedI did all the labor to fix the problem and spent $dollars on for the front damaged pan and the new boltsAll is was asking for is for is to get reimbursed for the parts

Thank you for the opportunity to let us respond to this complaint. This customer had been to our facility only 2 times. The first time on October 8,2106 with 123,584 miles on the odometer. And the second time on August 17, 2017 with 146,057 on the odometer. So in 10 months she drove 22,473 miles!!...

This car is older clearly drives alot on the road in short periods of time. Both times the car was at this facility it was noted by our technicians that the ca was extremely low on oil upon arrival at our center, before we ever worked on it. And at the bottom of our receipts (which she signed) the statement reads extremely low."Our personnel perform a number of visual safety checks on the customer vehicles; no repairs, however, have been performed by these personnel. The customer is urged to have any repair item noted on this work order made at your earliest convenience. No warranty is either expressed or implied that all safety repairs needed or defective parts will be identified by our visual inspection."Basically the car leave as it arrive only with a fresh oil change and oil filter. We will forward all invoices to your office for review. And I wonder why it took 5 weeks since she was last here to say anything about our work?? We are a triple A+ rated company with insurance to match. The shop urged her to get an estimate from a certified mechanical shop, saying in part that damage to her car was a result of our oil change / work. That never happened. If that had happened we would of submitted the invoice to our insurance companies and went from there to get the problem fixed immediately. She said she would come by the shop for us to look at the car. She never showed, was extremely rude on the phone and then involved you, the Revdex.com, I'm glad. We are not a shop to be had by scammers. We do award winning work in the Peoria area and in fact are NASCAR certified. If ever we were to do anything wrong, insurance would rectify quickly. She knows she drives the car hard, and told me on the phone multiple drivers drive the vehicle, and that would make sense to rack up those kind of high miles in only 1 year. The car sounds as if it has a pre-existing condition to burn oil. A pre-existing condition is just that, pre-existing. Our guess would be the cars engine on the top end is worn allowing the engine to burn oil easier through the emissions system. those issues have nothing to do with the work our shop provided! So to anyone reading this statement. We don't want scam artists at our shop. And they will not be tolerated!! So thank for the complaint complaint, and our chance to let all scammers know to take your vehicle elsewhere. And if this complainant in their statements to you would have so many misspellings, one would wonder what kind of car care they do on a regular basis as well? This case is closed on our end. Refund will not be given. Again thanks for allowing us to respond.
