Several of my husband's work associates recommended them.[redacted] came to the house with roofing samples and explained the different types of roofing and the process and gave us an excellent price.They arrived at 11 AM and completed our ranch house's roof by 3 pm. Prior to the roofing they carefully removed our deck plants, protected our ground plants and carefully draped the house deck with tarps.They cleaned everything up quickly, carefully, and left no evidence that a new roof had just been put on. [redacted] and his crew are well mannered and extremely hard working. My neighbor who just built his home himself told me he watched the crew and said they did everything right. And he is very particular.And ladies, [redacted] removed his sneakers when he came into the house. We are very happy with the looks of our new roof and highly recommend A Better Construction, Johnstown NY.
Tom and his crew replaced the roof on my family’s 86 year old summer home. During the bidding process, he brought to light some things that other companies did not recommend, which included the removal of an unused chimney that was the source of a major leak. During the initial appraisal, Tom was courteous, friendly, and professional. He also took time to repeat all of his recommendations when a family member arrived late.
The day of the work, Tom and his crew arrived on time and began working right away. They took great care in containing the roofing debris to the rear of the house, away from the lake side. They worked diligently through the day, finishing about 7:00 at night (a twelve hour day).
It should be noted that this was not a typical job, as there is a 60-70 foot mountain path separating the parking area and the house. This path is quite steep and the workers hauled all the roof debris up the hill to the truck. The site was extremely clean when Tom and his crew were done. We were very pleased with the work and the character of the staff. We would definitely call A Better Construction again!
