+1

I used Optimum Moving for my move from Edison, NJ to Putnam County, NYI began researching various interstate moving companies that were closer to my area but they were not reliable and did not return emails or phone calls So I broadened my search and found Optimum Moving on Yelp! I read through all of their amazing reviews and contacted them immediately through their websiteElvis called me back within minutes! We chatted and he was able to come to my home for a free flat-rate estimate I was on my honeymoon, so Elvis met with my parents Once my father gave me his seal of approval (which he does not give out to just anybody) and Elvis sent me the proposal, I called Elvis to schedule the appointment
The day of the move, Delvon (the moving day foreman), called me about an hour before he was to get there Although I had an arrival window from 9am-10am, it was nice to know when they were actually arriving Delvon was on time and he had two additional men with him They were professional from start to finish It was a degree day and sunny so I made sure I was prepared with waters for them as well Delvon went through the entire house with me to go over the contracted inventory and where it was all going in the new house The guys started immediately; everyone started in a different room They brought their own tools to dismantle furniture (legs, etc.) and the electronics They carefully wrapped everything in cardboard, blankets and tape! At no point was I worried about my stuff The most valuable item I owned was my grandmother’s curved-glass antique china closet The way they wrapped this piece was superb
Once the truck arrived at the new home, they immediately began unpacking and re-building the furniture They put everything where I wanted it and it was perfect!
These guys work HARD and they are complete professionals through and through All 3, including Delvon, worked tirelessly to get the job done They were all very personable and I highly recommend them for any move I’ve already given their info out to my friends If I move again, I know who I’m going to call!

Hello Attached you will find copies of the contract which *** signed on move day stating that she chose the $per pound free valuation insurance option Also attached is a copy of the email that was provided to her upon giving her a quote, before the move was booked with our
company, also stating that *** had chosen the .60/lb valuation option. Elvis had offered to come out to the residence to see if the piece could be fixed if not at least to try to resolve the issue but that was declined by the customerAt that time, *** informed our company that she would be taking us to court so we provided her with our attorneys contact information. Please advise

Unfortunately, my girlfriend and I did not have as pleasant of an experience with Optimum Moving as a lot of people.
I must say that I was very impressed with everything aside from the actual move. I spoke with [redacted], who returned my calls very promptly, was very straightforward, and polite as well. I enjoyed speaking with him. He gave us an amazing price, and worked with our schedule to the best of his ability. He didn't charge us for any of the extra fabric or saran wrap they used during the move.
However, the move itself didn't go well. The movers were scheduled to show up at our house between 2pm and 5pm, and they arrived at 7pm. This was a Sunday, and I have to wake up at 6am for work. The driver, [redacted], assured me on the phone that I shouldn't worry, and the move would go fast. I tried to help him with directions, but he didn't know where he was, or which direction he was going. When he was leaving the job they had just finished, I told him to avoid one of the local highways that had a lot of construction going on. When I called him later to find out where he was (after we were waiting on our porch for an hour between 5 and 6), he told me that he was on that highway.
When they arrived, they started right away, and used a lot of material to cover the furniture to assure it didn't get wet, as it was pouring outside. They were very thorough with how they wrapped each item. I thought the rest of it would go fine. As the night wore on, I asked [redacted] when he thought they would be able to head out, and he said probably 9:30 at the latest, and the move would probably be finished by about 1am. That is a total of 6 hours, and [redacted] informed me that it shouldn't take more than 4. They also wrapped up a dresser that wasn't ours after I clearly instructed him on which items would be moved. When I informed him of this, he got very upset with me and claimed that I told him it was coming with us. They moved slower the later it got because the guys were so tired, since it took them so long to get to us. They didn't even wrap up the last bunch of items because they were trying to save on time.
When we arrived at our new house, my girlfriend and I couldn't stay awake much longer, so we agreed to have them leave all the furniture in the living room, bedroom, and kitchen. I hustled to help the exhausted workers move whatever I could out of the truck. They unwrapped what they could, and the job was finished at 12:30am, so we ended up paying for a total of 5.5 hours.
It's unfortunate that it didn't go well, because [redacted] seems like a very nice man and punctual as well. I don't think they're a bad company, but I can't give them a good rating given what happened. [redacted] was also very unprofessional, and constantly talked to me like I was the problem in all this. A bad move can happen to anyone, and sadly it happened to us.

Cant even begin to explain how impressed we were with Optimum! The sales staff was accommodating and polite. Reasonably priced, but most important, they stuck to their price with no suprises! We have moved 3 times in 8 years and never had such an epic experience. Elvis came to our house and was so personable and professional that my wife and I invited him to our housewarming party! The crew arrived on time and the move went off without a single hiccup. They carefully wrapped each piece at no additional cost (even though we had a few extra boxes) and quite frankly I couldn't imagine a having better experience with anyone else. Dont look anywhere else! A+++
