Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Associates of Waukesha, LTD. Reviews (2)

I was seen on 12-11-15. It was decided I needed 7 teeth removed. They told me they would schedule it for after the holidays. Wouldn't give me good pain medication while waiting. And never got back to me. Until I received a bill on 2-3-15. Had not done anything to schedule surgery. What a terrible way to treat people. Especially one who is in so much pain.

This review is not about the doctor at OMSA in Mukwonago, it is regarding the receptionists and scheduling staff. First off, I was told the wrong time for my appointment time, both during the initial scheduling AND the confirmation call. I have a demanding job that does not allow for me to leave work easily, so the additional half hour was a big inconvenience. At one point while waiting, I asked one of the receptionists if she knew how far behind the doctor was, so I had an idea of the additional wait time. She coolly told me, "He isn't behind. Your appointment is for 1pm." I explained that 1pm was never mentioned or I wouldn't have arrived so early. No apology from her. However, she did then wheel her chair over to whisper about me to the other receptionist. Once I finally got to the "chair", the nurse (who was very sweet) told me that the doctor would be another 45 minutes because of the procedure he was doing.
I understand complications arising, and I don't hold the doctor or nurse responsible, but here is my question, why would they schedule another appointment knowing that these complications could happen and leave the other patient waiting for an exceptionally long amount of time? That just gives the impression that the secondary appointment is in no way as important as the first. I mean, 45 minutes is a very long time to keep someone waiting, assuming they have nothing better to do.
It takes weeks to get an appointment in the first place and then being expected to wait around until they can get to you? Ridiculous. The scheduling procedure needs some major improvement...as does the "reception" staff.
The doctor may have been the best in the world, but when you have to deal with so much unpleasantness before you can even see the doctor, that's not okay. Now I'm stuck with major tooth pain and have no idea when/if I will be able to get in there again. Actually, I will NOT be going there again based on this experience. I'll have to start my search all over again to find someone better.
