My disabled mother went twice to scheduled appointments for emergency surgery in December and both times she was sent away without being assistedThe first time, they stated her insurance would not cover the entire procedure, even though she gave them her insurance information when she scheduled the appointmentShe was never seen by anyone but they still billed her insuranceThey then decided they would see her if she paid cash, so the second time she went in the doctor explained he would need to do more extensive work and then left the roomThe receptionist then came in and practically doubled the quoted price for workMy mother very calmly questioned the large increase in price and the receptionist made rude comments and left the room (my mother also noticed that the receptionist had made notations in my mothers file stating she complained, very professional)A different office worker then came into the room and stated that they would not assist my mother because she was rude to the receptionistHow is questioning the billing practices of a medical office being rude? They fraudulently billed her insurance for services not provided, and then denied service not once but twiceIt is extremely difficult for my mother to get around, and twice she had to make her way to and from their officeI will be filing a complaint with the NYS Office of Professional Discipline regarding their unethical practice
