Consumer: [redacted] Ms [redacted] and Orange County Singles have come to a mutually satisfactory agreement concerning this matter

I am very EXTREMELY disappointed in the few matches I have been given. I realize that it is my own fault that I didn't realize that no pictures would be shown of potential matches and I find this most distressing. Besides that, if you are over the age of 65, the pickings are slim to none. All but one of the matches thus far have been extremely unappealing, if not downright repulsive to me. I am an attractive, educated, and financially independent woman and I was lead to believe the there would be matches for me out there. In fact, I was told there was already such a match waiting to meet me...which there was, but he was DEFINATELY NOT attractive or a good match. I don't know where these matchmakers get their idea of good looking or well-off financially, but they certainly do not match my ideas. It is false and misleading advertising. I have been taken advantage of financially and would NOT recommend this organization to anyone. They are a complete rip-off and would like my money refunded!

No or course not. You set up people up with a 20 year age difference. You do just enough to look like you defrauded people. You don’t even give copies of the contract they sign. You rush them to sign n why do you ask what kind of cars they drive or the limit on their card! Every lawsuit you have is iis because the angry person don’t take a bad report down. Why do you think only good reviews on Yelp. One people messaged me said you Paid them to write it. I asked why so you have 3 different matches making company stat.

Re: ID *** ***To Whom It May Concern:This is in response to the dispute Orange County Singles received regarding our member, ***, in the amount of $5,000.00.First and foremost, we are disappointed to have one of our clients so unhappyOne of ourprimary
goals is to have good customer service. However, Orange County Singles has a firm “no refund policy” (See paragraph 4aof thecontract, which states: “EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN,THERE IS NO RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENTOrange County Singlesdoes not grant refunds or accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise stated in thisagreement.”)However, within the agreement it clearly indicates that certain refunds aregranted under the following circumstances: 1) For any reason, if that cancellation is made anddelivered to the selling office in writing anytime within three days up to and includingmidnight on the third day after enrollment(This timeframe is defined by California law)2)After the three-day cancellation period if a member relocates his or her primary residencefurther than miles from any of the company’s offices3) After the three-day cancellationperiod if due to death or disability a member is unable to receive all introductions purchased. The three-day cancellation policy is written in large, bold writing directly above thesignature lineMs*** did not cancel within the three-day grace period and theallowable exceptions are inapplicableTherefore, a refund would not be appropriate. On March 20, 2014, Ms*** became a member of Orange County Singles, purchasingsix [6] introductionsParagraph 3b of her contract allows Orange County Singles up to 4weeks before we can begin the matching processThereafter, Ms*** is to receiveapproximately one to two introductions per eight-week period (see contract, paragraph3bwhich Ms*** initialed).Between April 1, and January 6, 2015, Ms*** personally approved andreceived (ELEVEN) introductions.Ms*** has received almost TWICE as much service as she paid forAfter Ms.*** was notified that her program was finished, she was offered the opportunity toreceive additional introductions on a “complimentary” basisIn order to qualify for thecomplimentary service, Ms*** was asked to sign a document indicating sheunderstood the paid portion of her membership was completeUpon receipt of suchdocument, Ms*** instead filed this dispute.Ms*** approved her introductions using the Selective Screening optionWithSelective Screening, Ms*** is offered the benefit of hearing (and having theopportunity to ask) detailed information regarding a possible introduction via atelephone conversation with a matchmaker or enrollment counselorIf Ms***approves the match, the corresponding introduction letter will be sent out and the matchwill normally count toward her programIf Ms*** declines, it will not be sent outand it will not count as a match. For each match, Ms*** will be sent a bio (Introduction Letter) of the gentleman shehas been matched with, which contains the pertinent contact informationEach bio alsocontains the member’s name, occupation, age, hair and eye color, with or withoutchildren, activities and interests, etcIntroduction Letters are emailed unless a memberrequests otherwise.According to paragraph 3bof the contract (which Ms*** initialed), “Anintroduction is made when Orange County Singles provides you with a name and a phonenumber of another member.” Also, “Introductions are generally provided at a rate ofapproximately one to two per eight-week periodHowever, as introductions are providedon an AS-AVAILABLE basis, the rate of provided introductions may vary with eachindividual member.”Paragraph 3c(“PREFERENCES”) of the contract states, “Preferences are used as aguideline for Membership Services when seeking potential introductionsAsintroductions are based on an AS-AVAILABLE basis, introductions will be made thatare as nearly compatible to a member’s preferences at any given time.” Further, thesame clause states: “Orange County Singles, its agents and assigns, do not represent thecharacteristics, availability, quantity or demographic maof its membership base atany timeYou, the Member, acknowledge that the membership base changes on a dailybasis due to changes in membership status, including, but not limited to: newenrollments, expired membership, members becoming involved in relationships, members traveling, and members temporarily suspending their memberships.”Further, an Addendum to the contract (see attached), signed by Ms*** states thefollowing: “…I understand that my preferences are ‘preferences’ and not ‘requirements’.If at any time Orange County Singles is unable to select an introduction who fulfills all ofmy preferences, Orange County Singles will select an introduction who is compatible withmy preferences but who may not meet all of the preferences I indicated in my profile.”Please note: Matching is a processPatience and a positive attitude are key to asuccessful membershipOrange County Singles provides introductions but cannotpredict chemistry or guarantee outcomesHaving said that, Orange County Singles isgenerous about replacing the introductions that do not result in meetings or result indisappointing meetingsMs*** was entitled to receive replacement introductionsunder appropriate circumstances, based on her written feedbackOrange County Singlesdoes hope that each member’s program is positive and that is the very reason whyintroductions are replaced if a member is dissatisfied. The primary focus of our service was to make Ms***’s matchmaking experience ascomfortable and effortless as possibleFinding that right match is quite often afrustrating and challenging taskThe reason people seek assistance from third partiessuch as Orange County Singles is to remove many of these challenges and take some ofthe guess work out of datingIt is for this exact reason that the Orange County Singlesstaff is always available to speak with its members every step of the way during theirmembership, whether it is to listen to verbal feedback after a date or just to chit chatabout qualities they find the most important in a potential match.Clearly, Orange County Singles has provided Ms*** with the service she contractedforOrange County Singles has provided Ms*** with service as described and Ms.*** has participated in her membershipOrange County Singles has met allrequirements as agreed upon in the contract.Ms*** is not entitled to a refund as cancellation of the membership is disallowed bythe very terms of the Membership Agreement Ms*** agreed toOrange CountySingles has met all requirements as agreed upon in the contract, which Ms***signedOrange County Singles provided service to Ms*** precisely in the mannershe contracted for.Orange County Singles has kept its side of the agreement and has remained within theparameters of the contractOur terms and conditions are stated clearly in the contract(which Ms*** signed and initialed)A refund under these circumstances would bevery And yes when you sign up you will get a huge discount for writing a positive review. They will say it’s a referral price. How do you drop anywhere from $6000 to $20,000 all because Nikki / who ever she is adores you

• Jul 10, 2023

Sara exactly. They only say ho much they lobe Nikki but nothing about people who found theiir match except for Christine who Is supposedly the business owner.

• Jul 10, 2023

You are disappointed! Really? Why do you sue people If they do not take down bad Yelp reviews. Why don’t you put down a coffee house address where meet people instead or w phony on on your contract.. how do you send a certified cancel notice to w business you don’t even work at. You’re just a branch of Red Bull Enterprise who is owns 1000 of these companies defrauded people. You do a class act loss suit and be files BK. Nikki why don’t you use your real name and don’t say it’s because of your husband bc he put a retraining order on you. My favorite part is how it’s a two man operation who defrauds people buy used Bible verses to anger clients. What comes around does around. And you guy may be living large on earth but eternity In hell, I’m sorry isn’t gonna fun

• Jul 01, 2023

Look at your yelp reviews. Your fraud people and all the good reviews only state how much they love Nikki. Do people pay $1000 plus to make a friend bc not one 5 star says anything about how you find them their soul mate. It’s pretty odd that all the negative responses, your reply is they are not our customers along with you got 4 5 star post in one day so do you pay for positive reviews

• Jul 01, 2023

How does some someone send you a cancellation letter certified where the address you provide, you don’t even work there. Any certify letters will be returned. . You guys will go to prison for how many people you have lied, and you guys are a two two man show who frauds people.

Complaint Case #:[redacted] Consumer: [redacted] First it should be emphasized that Orange County Singles takes any membership complaint seriously.  Orange County Singles provides a very personal service and works hard to achieve success for all its members. Ms. [redacted] became a member of Orange...

County Singles on 10/8/16 purchasing Six [6] introductions. Ms. [redacted]’s file was received in Member Services on10/17/16.  A welcome call was made by the matchmaker after some telephone tag they spoke and a welcome letter was sent. On 11/2/16 Ms. [redacted] was provided with her first introductions which resulted in a meeting. Orange County Singles cannot guarantee chemistry or outcomes; however, the Membership Services Department is very generous about replacing introductions when members provide timely written feedback describing a disappointing experience, or an introduction that does not result in a meeting with a specific match. Ms. [redacted] spoke with her matchmaker sating she was not happy with the introduction and explained why.  Ms. [redacted]’s matchmaker said we would be happy to replace the match.  Ms. [redacted] Indicated she did not wish to move forward and wanted to speak with the Director. On 11/16/2016 The Director spoke with Ms. [redacted] to discuss her dissatisfaction and assure her we will always replace an introduction where there is reasonable dissatisfaction.  She also asked her to post written feedback on the introduction so we would have a record of what transpired. During their conversation Ms. [redacted] stated the match was not as described.  She was told the gentleman was 6’ tall and she believed him to be shorter. She was told he had a Siberian husky   which he no longer has.  He now has a Maltese which she considered to be a frou frou dog which did not need to be walked and in her opinion indicated he was lazy. The Director assured her the matchmaker did not intentionally give her false information regarding his dogs breed or his height. The Director investigated the stated height of 6 feet and found it documented as such on his profile card and his California Driver’s License.  The Director asked Ms. [redacted] to post her written feedback and said she would replace the introduction.  The Director also suggested she send some photos of men she is attracted to.  On 11/16/2016 Ms. [redacted] provided written feedback on her introduction and indicated there were some compatible qualities, but overall she was disappointed with the introduction. She requested a refund. On11/28/2016 Ms. [redacted] received a letter explaining she did not qualify for a refund and inviting her to come in and meet with her matchmaker. .We want to work with Ms. [redacted] and we want her to be happy with her membership. If she would like to move forward the Orange County Singles staff will do everything it can to make that a reality.

You take the time collecting money all day long. That’s all you do. Once you get the clients money, they are trash to you. You don’t care about your clients because you treat them horribly and never have time for any of them because you’re too busy collecting money. When you talk to them they always say how busy they are signing people up, like I said this is a two man show but when do they take time to find you a match. They just match you with anyone once you start to complain. Also on your document, you ask do you have any mental issues. You can’t ask that! Someone with bi polar really wants a stranger to know that. People who have a mental illness like bi polar are already embarrassed to let anyone know especially put that on a contact.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
To Whom It May Concern   The rebuttal to my complaint to OC singles is misleading. When I read the contract and asked about the 6 matches, I was advised by the office manager that “we never stick with this” . I then questioned how the match was considered a match; I was told that both parties need to agree that the match was indeed a match.  I was questioned for 2 hours about the perfect match and date and then I was sent anyone that was available with a total disregard for my match preferences.  When I was called by the match maker and told that she has a match for me, I was advised that if I turned down the match, I would go back to the pile of matches. Many of the potential matches were  “just guys” with nothing in common with me, no mutual interests. I called my matchmaker and said” this was not a match, this guy has NOTHING in common with me”. She said, that is all I had available. I did not get one match that was part of my original request for similarities, I was assured they had “ plenty of men “ to match my criteria. When I spoke to some of the guys, they said “ there is a shortage of men so they get bombarded with women matches” , many said they were offered a “free membership”  just so OC singles had enough men. I questioned my matchmaker on this and she said “ they are not being honest for prides sake’i OC Singles misleads clients with their picture of what a match is and then sends you anyone that is available. It is false and misleading advertising and promotions.

Review: I joined OC Singles under the contract that they would provide me with 6 "matches" . Those matches would be customized to my 2 hour interview with them. I went through 2 hours of explaining the kind of match ( mate , dates) that I was interested in, I was assured that the business had "AMPLE" matches to meet my criteria. I called to clarify the definition of a match since it does not clearly state that criteria, I was assured that the match would be mutually agreed upon by both parties. After they processed my payment, they randomly "matched" me to anyone available. NONE of these matches were customized to my wants. I was very specific as to what I wanted and I paid a lot of money to get those matches. After less than one year, I was told that I got 10 matches and therefore my contract was fulfilled however if I signed a document stating they my contract was fulfilled , they would keep as a coutesy giving me matches. I explained that the matches they sent to me did not meet my wants and needs and I advised them throughout the year of that. I was told" we send you what we have available"

I was mislead from the original interview with their manager [redacted] and advised them for months that they were not providing what I requested ( and paid for)

I am a busy professional woman and wanted matches that were similar in values, finances and intellect. I paid to have a matchmaker find those matches and she assured me that it would be accomplished. OC Singles no longer returns my calls . They mislead people and play on human emotionDesired Settlement: I did not get the 6 customized matches that I paid for , I want a full refund

When I asked regarding the wording of the contract regarding the terminology of 8 "Introductions" I was assured that this meant a face to face date. This agreement was signed on April 11, 2013. I had 5 referrals that resulted in a face to face dates. The referral dates are as follows: April 26, 2014 (although inappropriate); June 19,2013; July 8,2013, August 21,2013, and September 23,2013. During this time April 19-September 23, there were also 5 referrals sent to me. Three of which resulted in NO contact (e-mail, phone, in-person etc). The other 2 were a phone contact and did not result in any face to face date due to the apparent lack of common interests. When I contacted the company via letter expressing dissatisfaction, I was promised improved services and follow-up only to be dropped in September of 2013 completely. I received 5 months of services and went on a total of 5 face-to-face dates. In attempt to remedy the situation, I made phone calls, only to receive a terse rude response from[redacted]. Apparently, as I was told, by the member services, my match maker had left and was no longer there- was that why I wasn't receiving services? Again, no follow-up whatsoever from OC Singles to remedy the situation. After an attempt to contest 2700. of the charges put on a credit card, OC Singles provided a legalistic letter, explaining that an "Introduction" WAS the white piece of paper I was e-mailed. In sum business practices: Untruthful, Misleading, Unscrupulous, Fraudulent, Failure to provide servicesDesired Settlement: I would like a refund based upon the failure to provide services promised and misrepresentation of contractual agreement aka I was lied to.

One of ourprimary goals is to have good customer service. However, Orange County Singles has a firm "no refund policy" (See paragraph 4a. of thecontract, which states: "EXCEPT WHAT IS OTHERWISE PROVIDED HEREIN,THERE IS NO RIGHT TO RESCIND THIS AGREEMENT. Orange County Singlesdoes not grant refunds or accept cancellations of any kind, unless otherwise stated in thisagreement."). However, within the agreement it clearly indicates that certain refunds aregranted under the following circumstances: 1) For any reason, if that cancellation is made anddelivered to the selling office in writing anytime within three days up to and includingmidnight on the third day after enrollment. (This timeframe is defined by California law). 2)After the three-day cancellation period if a member relocates his or her primary residencefurther than 50 miles from any of the company's offices. 3) After the three-day cancellationperiod if due to death or disability a member is unable to receive all introductions purchased. The three-day cancellation policy is written in large, bold writing directly above the signatureline. [redacted] did not cancel within the three-day grace period and theallowable exceptions are inapplicable. Therefore, a refund would not be appropriate. On April 11, 2013, [redacted] became a member of Orange County Singles, purchasingeight [8) introductions, Selective Screening and fifteen [15) months of hold time, whichallows [redacted] to temporarily suspend service for 15 consecutive or non-consecutivemonths. Paragraph 3b of her contract allows Orange County Singles up to 4 weeksbefore we can begin the matching process. Thereafter, [redacted] is to receiveapproximately one to two introductions per eight-week period (see contract, paragraph3b. which [redacted] initialed).Between April19, 1013 and September 19, 1013, [redacted] personally approved andreceived 10 introductions. Orange County Singles bas confirmed that [redacted] wenton dates with at least five of the gentlemen.[redacted] approved her introduction using the Selective Screening option. WithSelective Screening, [redacted] is offered the benefrt of hearing (and having theopportunity to ask) detailed information regarding a possible introduction via atelephone conversation with a matchmaker or enrollment counselor. If [redacted]approves the match, the corresponding introduction letter will be sent out and the matchwill normally count toward her program. If [redacted] declines, it will not be sent outand it will not count as a match. For each match, [redacted] wiD be sent a bio (Introduction Letter) of the gentleman shehas been matched with, which contains the pertinent contact information. Each bio alsocontains the member's name, occupation, age, hair and eye color, with or withoutchildren, activities and interests, etc. Introduction Letters are emailed unless a memberrequests otherwise.According to paragraph 3b. of the contract (which [redacted] initialed), "Anintroduction is made when Orange County Singles provides you with a name and a phonenumber of another member." Also, "Introductions are generally provided at a rate ofapproximately one two per eight-week period. However, as introductions are providedon an AS-AVAILABLE basis, the rate of provided introductions may vary with eachindividual member."Paragraph 3c. ("PREFERENCES") of the contract states, "Preferences are used as aguideline for Membership Services when seeking potential introductions. Asintroductions are based on an AS-AVAILABLE basis, introductions will be made that are asnearly compatible to a member's preference at any given time·" Further, thesame clause states: "Orange County Singles, its agents and assigns, do not represent the characteristics, availability, quantity or demographic make-up of its membership base atany time. You, the Member, acknowledge that the membership base changes on a dailybasis due to changes in membership status, including, but not limited to: newenrollments, expired membership, members becoming involved in relationships, members traveling, and members temporarily suspending their memberships."Further, an Addendum to the contract (see attached), signed by [redacted] states thefollowing: " ... I understand that my preferences are "preferences" and not requirements".If at any time Orange County Singles is unable to select an introduction who fulfills all ofmy preferences, Orange County Singles will select an introduction who is compatible withmy preferences but who may not meet all of the preferences I indicated in my profile."Please note: Matching is a process. Patience and a positive attitude are key to asuccessful membership. Orange County Singles provides introductions but cannotpredict chemistry or guarantee outcomes. Having said that, Orange County Singles isgenerous about replacing the introductions that do not result i.D. meetings or result indisappointing meetings. [redacted] is entitled to receive replacement introdudionsunder appropriate circumstances based on her written feedback If [redacted] isreasonably dissatisfied with any of her introductions, the introductions will be replacedfor her. Orange County Singles does hope that each member's program is positive andthat is the very reason why introductions are replaced if a member is dissatisfied. The primary focus of our service is to make [redacted]'s matchmaking experience ascomfortable and effortless as possible. Finding that right match is quite often afrustrating and challenging task. The reason people seek assistance from third partiessuch as Orange County Singles is to remove many of these challenges and take some ofthe guess work out of dating. It is for this exact reason that the Orange County Singlesstaff is always available to speak with its members every step of the way during theirmembership, whether it is to listen to verbal feedback after a date or just to chit chatabout qualities they fmd the most important in a potential match.Clearly, Orange County Singles has provided [redacted] with the service she contractedfor. Orange County Singles has provided [redacted] with service as described and [redacted] bas participated in her membership. Orange County Singles has met allrequirements as agreed upon in the contract.[redacted] is not entitled to a refund as cancellation of the membership is disallowed bythe very terms of the Membership Agreement [redacted] agreed to. Orange CountySingles has met all requirements as agreed upon in the contract, which [redacted]signed. Orange County Singles had been providing service to [redacted] precisely in themanner she contracted for. However, as previously stated, [redacted]'s introductionswill be replaced for her if she is dissatisfied.Orange County Singles has kept its side of the agreement and bas remained within theparameters of the contract. Our terms and conditions are stated clearly in the contract(which [redacted] signed and initialed). A refund under these circumstances would bevery unjust.Sincerely,Orange County Singles

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID[redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I was specifically told an Introduction was a face to face date only in response to my question when signing the contract. I was also told the membership was for a minimum of a year.

Review: I signed up with Orange County Singles in August of 2015. I was verbally assured that there were many available men within the range that I was looking who were anxious to meet someone with my qualities. Orange County Singles recommended three individuals that all cancelled prior to meeting. As of this date 11/16/15 no one answers the phone. When I complained previously about the lack of fulfillment of their obligation there was no response.Desired Settlement: This service is a fraud taking advantage of people with honest intentions. On this date 11/16/15 no one answers the phone. I would like my money refunded.
