Orangeburg Medical Group

Review: Our medical health insurance is GEHA (aetna) last year it was GEHA(first health) we looked on the GEHA website to locate doctors that were in network. Orangeburg medical was one of these. My wife needed to be seen 2 times back in July 21 2014 with dr. Katime and more recent dr. Banuelos and in both instances we call orangeburg medical group and ask if the doctors were in network while making the appointment and then at the check in desk during check in and at that time they took our copay of 20 dollars. And in both instances the office and telephone personnel indicated the doctors were in network doctors. It appears to me that the doctors billing office does submit paperwork to GEHA but while they are waiting for approval they will make appointments for the doctor and misrepresent that he is in network when they are still waiting for approval from GEHA and this is the issue. GEHA indicated that these doctors were not in network at the time of the appointments and so they are not getting paid by GEHA and are coming after us. Orangeburg medical has sent us a letter indicating they will send the bill to a collection agency if we do not pay the 300 and so dollars in the next 2 weeks. the orangeburg medical account no. is 98496. I have also tried to call and talk to the billing dept. manager and they are always out and never return calls. I am Phillip Graham Melissa Graham's husband.Desired Settlement: I want these people to stop misleading people. We do not have tons of money that is why we go to in network doctors.I want these people to accept and correct there misleading ways. And quit trying to bill us because of there short comings there may be plans out there that will back date a doctor and pay up. Ours does not appear to be one of them.

Consumer states: I did speak with the office and they informed me verbally that they are writing off the charges and that I would not have a balance. I will contact the Revdex.com should this change.
