I understand that because we didn't do our due diligence and have the car checked before purchase and because we did sign on the dotted line of the "as is" paperwork, which by the way is meant solely to protect the unscrupulous people like [redacted], he has no legal obligation to do the "right thing".  But there is such a thing as conducting business in a fair and ethical manner.  Businesses that don't, don't stay "in business" for long.
If he will take it back to [redacted] and have it checked again and it would be found to NOT have bad head gaskets, I will take it back.  If however, it's found that it does have bad head gaskets, I would expect a "reasonable" amount of our money back.  If's funny to me that a car that was overheating the whole time we had it (1 month) is now all of a sudden not overheating.
[redacted] and I work too hard for what little we have to let anybody rip us off.  Unfortunately we don't have the luxury of living off of fraudulent insurance settlement money like some people do.
