I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to my concern, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me.
The business does not address that they continued to refer my 'accounts' to the credit bureau after I made final payment in Feb, which incurred my additional payment of $25. They need to improve the closing of accounts to not continue billing.. However, they did acknowledged the additional payment I made to the bureau; and have sent a refund check for that amount. I hope they record at this point that I do not still owe, and will stop sending notices to the credit bureau.Thank you for your assistance.

As a hospital, each visit is treated separately and billed separately.  We do not have the ability to handle patient visits the same was private practice providers bill.  When a patient's visit is pulled up, the system pulls up every visit the patient has, both paid and unpaid.  This does create the need to sort through a list (sometimes a long list) to identify the open accounts.  The patient made a payment to the hospital in February, 2015 and then paid [redacted]) directly $25.00.  This created a credit owed to the patient.  A refund check for this amount was provided to the patient in April, 2015.  When the patient was in the Patient Financial Services office to make the payment, the payment from [redacted] did not exist, but the credit was provided to the patient once it was discovered. We believe standard billing practices were followed in regards to sending out statements.  It appe[redacted] our self-pay partner, [redacted], did reach out to the patient on two occasions where they received no response.  Voice mails were left and not returned.  The account was then assigned to [redacted].  To make a good faith effort to resolve this issue, the hospital has asked for the negative credit rating to be removed from the patient's credit report.  Please feel free to contact anyone in our Patient Financial Services office if you have further questions or concerns.  Also, feel free to reach out to me directly. Sincerely, [redacted]Chief Executive Officer

Review: I no longer drive to this business in Gridley. They continue to mismanage my account. It was difficult to make sure they applied any payment correctly because they do not carry one account by my name and/or address. They set up a new account for each office visit. They use the [redacted] to collect. Being overly frustrated, I drove back to Gridley in February of this year, to personally pay in full. Even the employee had difficulty to make sure she found all 'accounts' to be cleared. She even found one paid account that had an overpayment that had not been applied to a different "bad debt" as she called. I used a check for $100. to clear the accountS in full, per her direction. I have a new notice from the credit bureau for another #25.00. I did not receive a billing from the business first. I think this business is very ineffective; and they are making continuing bad marks on my name with the credit bureau. Please protect other consumers from this business' practices.Desired Settlement: Clarification with the business finance office, to assure they will not continue finding amounts to bill me. I have received no services from them this year.

Response:

I have an addendum to my complaint #[redacted]. I have received, yet another billing dtd Apr 8, from the Credit Bureau. The respondent has added an additional $25 to the due amount, with interest. It does not show a date for service provided, but a 'packet' number. I can't comprehend how they can keep adding due amounts after I asked to have an amount to pay in full. Thank you,

on 12/23/14 My mother went into Orchard hospital in minimal pain after falling. As per doctors suggestion that my mom get pain meds to do X-Ray and possibly be transferred by Ambulance to another hospital for hip surgery if she has a fracture.Gave Dr.and nurse moms medical history they then proceeded to give her a IV.with pain medication.X-ray tech. took my mom to X-Ray brought her back but did not hook mom back up to vital monitor.I did not realize this until they gave my mom a diazepam medication through IV.And my mom started choking nurse was panicking and I went and turned my mom on her side by this time she was non responsive.I yelled for nurse to get Dr.and hook the Vital monitor up asap.By the time monitor was hooked up to my mom she was in respiratory failure kidney failure and pacemaker was turning off.finally they ordered a helicopter to take her to another ER.They did not think she would survive the night. She lived but was tortured by having a trechatomy,Ventilator support,Kidney dialysis. Then died on January 15.2015.It is my opinion and only my opinion I am not a medical expert but have read a lot of information about giving medication to patients and the importance of monitoring them when the drugs can cause respiratory failure and in my sole opinion hold this hospital accountable for my mom not being her today. This is not to discourage anyone from using this hospital just informing people of my experience and the loss of my mother.
