Oreck Floor Care Centers

Review: I purchase an [redacted] in 2005 and paid approx. $700 for it because it was guaranteed to deliver excellent performance for 21 years, with free annual service each year. Their warranty states " Your [redacted] is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship for a full 21 years in accordance to the extended warranty......" Each time I take it in, I have gotten it back with either the same problem or other problems that it didn't have before. I've complained several times about a burnt odor and lack of suction and asked that the warranty be honored and the vacuum replaced but they refuse. This year, the service was the same and the vacuum has no suction and still has a burnt odor. I called Oreck manufacturing and was told that all Oreck stores are privately owned and operated and that until a technician deems the product to be inferior, they will not replace it. I believe that both their product and their technicians are inferior, being that they can never repair the vacuum the first time around or they cause secondary problems AND that this particular vacuum has NEVER delivered the quality of performance that ORECK claims. Neither the store, its technicians or ORECK manufacturing has enough integrity to stand behind their claims.Desired Settlement: I would like this machine to be replaced with ORECK's current, NEW, top of the line model. I don't know if they have one that costs as much as what I paid.
