My experience
I bought a engine from Oregon engine builders, it wasn't the cheapest I could find and not only the shipping for the engine is paid by the customer but the shipping for the core return as well as a core charge until it is shipped to them ,then efunded , so it did end up being kind of costly , I got a long block with a new head , I checked the bearing clrearance before install and it was right in specs , the timing components were not exactly high quality but I've been driving it for over two years and put about 25000 miles on it with no internal problems and still runs good , they say they have a lifetime warranty on them but in order to use that I would have to remove the engine, disassemble all the external parts and ship it to them which wouldn't be worthwhile to me ,the bottom line is I'm happy with the engine but with all the shipping cost there are other options that would of probably been more cost effective locally .

Business response taken over the phone by Revdex.com Resolutions Consultant They reused the head bolts which is not recommended by ToyotaBUSINESS:Those are not Torch to Yield Bolts and Toyota Therefor do not need to be replacedand Toyota does not recommend to replace them.In the process I found they not only reused the head bolts , one of the bolts was the same as when I shipped it to them, Thick and crusted with built up oilThe rocker arm tube is crusty with debris on the inside walls where new clean oil would have flowed thruBUSINESS:There different styles of Head bolts. The important thing is that they are properly torched and that they are the correct size and length.I removed the head and found vertical scratches from the up and down piston travel on every cylinder. The cylinder should be unmarked, and vertical lines would be an indication of the need for engine workThis is why I sent the engine to themI WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DOING A HEAD GASKET WHEN I SAW VERTICAL MARKS WITH PISTON RING GALLING.BUSINESS:We did not authorize any disassembly of the motorThe marks she is taking about are typical on a new motor that hasn't had perfect lubricationThe rings have to break in, they need to Seat inand they do make marks on the cylinder but they are not scratches they are not gouges and as soon as the engine is started and runs, they seeded in and those go awayIt has no refection on the quality of the rings or the quality of the work. They also over charged me $The visa receipt says $and the in voice says $1945BUSINESS:I have not gone back and looked at my paperworkIf that is the case, we would definitely owe her $I was going to hold off until she decided what she was going to do as far as returning the motor and then I was just going to add another $to it.We will refund but there is no shipping involved. The Business requests that the consumer call them for options

Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: For Revdex.com Northwest,I will not agree to their “business proposal”, because I’ve robbed of the initial investment, a backup for my worn out Truck, and potential profit from the sale of the Toyota Sunrader. As to:“We take great care in the re-manufacturing process of our engines”.I have been stunned to find how unclean their work isBecause this engine will not turn with a new battery and a starter checked good at Auto zone and O Reilly’s I had to search for the causeIn the process I found they not only reused the head bolts , one of the bolts was the same as when I shipped it to them, Thick and crusted with built up oilThe rocker arm tube is crusty with debris on the inside walls where new clean oil would have flowed thruI have dropped the oil pan and taken a video of a cylinder wall where vertical wear lines are showing upWhen I have time to disassemble it for a better view I will make another videoI have started taking pictures out of necessityThey have cost me time and moneyMy savings are in the danger zone and having to pay for shipping for their sloppy careless work is not acceptableIf my truck breaks down I might lose workThis motorhome should have been done months ago being used as a backup work commuter vehicle or sold to replenish my savingInstead I have no backup and danger zone savingsJuly 4, 2017Since I wrote the Entry above I spent Sunday and Monday inspecting their careless manufacturing processI removed the head and found vertical scratches from the up and down piston travel on every cylinderI have worked as a professional mechanic and have rarely seen these marks when doing head gasketsThe cylinder should be unmarked, and vertical lines would be an indication of the need for engine workThis is why I sent the engine to themI WAS IN THE PROCESS OF DOING A HEAD GASKET WHEN I SAW VERTICAL MARKS WITH PISTON RING GALLING.I currently am in the process of losing my storage space and if I am not able to get this Toyota Sunrader motorhome running I may not find a placeMost storage facilities want rv’s running not towed inWhich means there is a real possibility I might lose my motorhomeSunrader’s can bring $10,+ or - with a new engine and in good conditionI don’t have the ability to sell it any longer. They are now possibly liable for more than the price of the engine if I lose my Toyota SunraderIf The Engine had started I could have moved it to another facilitySo far I’m being told it needs to be running.I am not paying a penny more to them(They also over charged me $The visa receipt says $and the in voice says $1945) I do not want them touching this engine againAll the extra time I have had to spend working on their mess should also be consideredIf a shop had done the work I would be out more moneyI looked into having a machinist inspecting and possibly machining the engine again I’ve been told $for inspection or $to inspect, hot tank and machine itThis does not include piston rings if needed, Plastigauging the bearings, or reassembling the engineWHICH IS WHAT I PAID OREGON ENGINE TO DO.As far as I’m concerned they should be responsible for finding the storage, towing the motorhome (which can cost $+ or -) and storage feesIf I lose my motorhome they will be liable for a lot moreIf I can’t find a place that will let me reassemble the engine they are liable for the storage until I get it running, or the fees of a shop for finishing it for me.I am starting a IT certification that will require my time till the fallBetween that and work I may only have time to try to move itI looked last month and no goodI am told I must be out by the end of the month.Oregon Engines may be personally responsible me ending up on the street homelessI regret trusting them more than I can say.Revdex.com please help me take action against their careless negligent service[redacted] ***
