Orgain Reviews (2)

Review: Highly, exceptionally poor quality control. I began recently purchasing cartons of Orgain. For about the past month or so, nearly 40-50% of the drinks, the vanilla ones, have been chunky or exceptionally chunky. The clumps, chunks do not dissolve even after the drinks have been thoroughly shaken. When the drinks are not chunky or clumpy, then the drink carton itself is defective (mostly after they're opened) or both the juice itself is chunky, clumpy and the carton is defective. But I don't notice a direct correlation between the chunkier drinks and the defective cartons. The defects I find in the juice cartons are strange. In fact, some of the cartons, after opening, when shaken, will leak around where the plastic interfaces with the paperboard. Some of the cartons leak after they're opened and then shaken. When they're shaken before opening, I found just one that leaked. And by leak, I mean...a lot.In all, there is an ongoing issue with the cartons, the sealing process and the product itselfAnother issue is concerning this one particular carton I came across just today. It tasted rancid, spoiled. It's as if these cartons not being sealed properly. Aside from the one carton which leaked before it was opened (which I did not consume), this rancid carton was not leaking prior to its being opened. Here are the details on the rancid Orgain carton.Four-pack details: 17 Sep 2014 16:42 16445 Q 005418.The rancid carton itself: 17 Sep 2014. 16:37 26455 Q 021486. Here are the details concerning the TetraPrisma Aspetic TetraPak in which the rancid Orgain was contained: 97462 B12345 7.The 12 pack in which the 3 sets of four-packs were contained:WHOLE FOODS #05 - HADLEY: 42-108-11 NUTR SHK OG2, VAN BEAN ORGAIN 3/4/11 FZ. 4 OF 6. CASES 34[redacted]001. 86[redacted]8. 0001513. ??57[redacted]. 10012 12/08/13. 718.Desired Settlement: Fix these issues. (1) The juice cartons shouldn't leak - when shaken - after they've been opened. They didn't do this in the past. They shouldn't leak now. It's highly unacceptable to sell drinks that leak prior to their being opened. This is unhygienic, dangerous. There is something severally flawed about the packaging process recently. (2) The rancid Orgain I came across was disgusting. There was no way that I could have known that it was rancid. (3) Why are the Orgains so often chunky, clumpy

Response:

Dear valued customer,

I have also used this product and experienced problems with the container. There seems to be some flaw in the manufacturing process where the spout is attached to the carton. There is an incomplete seal in some of the packages. I contacted Orgain and informed them of the problem and lot #'s in 2015. I stopped using the product for a while afterwards. I just recently purchased a 12 pack online and again have experienced some of the same problem. Here are the details printed on the first Tetrapak that has leaked so far from this recent puchase : 07 DEC 17 6339P3FDA 12:47.
