On Friday, April 25th
the customer arrived at The Branding Iron Supper Club with two other patrons
They first sat at the bar and ordered six glasses of wine
total prior to being
seated in the dining area, which totaled $The server took their order in
the bar; two of the three patrons
ordered the North Atlantic Cod at $each, totaling $After the kitchen
received the order, the table was set for two according to the number of meals
written on the ticketThe patrons notified the busser, after being seated in
the dining room, that they would like a third setting and more dinner rolls
Once the two meals were delivered to the table, the third patron then asked for
a separate plate to split the mealsTherefore, the server then added $to the
bill for an “extra plate” charge, which is listed on the menuThe server
delivered the bill to the table and gave directions to take the bill to the bar
whenever the patrons are ready to leaveThe patrons then met the hostess in
the bar to pay their tabThe hostess then asked how everything was and the
patrons responded with no complaints or questioning on the total amount of the
bill
On Sunday, April 27th
The Branding Iron Supper Club received a phone call, during operating hours,
from one the patrons listed aboveInstantly, the patron was speaking in a
raised voice and wanted to speak to a manager immediatelySubsequently, a
manager answered the phone and stated their position as a manager of The
Branding Iron Supper ClubThe patron told the manager that she was over
charged for the wine they received on Friday, April 25thThe
manager, not knowing the complete situation with this patron, had identified
the issue being that the wine lists had been updated two days prior (April 23rd)
and that one of the wine lists had been missed while updating to the new
pricesThe manager immediately offered to refund the $because it was our mistake on missing one of the old
wine menus with the lower pricesAs stated above, this phone call was received
during operating hours and the manager was very busy at the timeThe manager
requested to return the patrons call to resolve the issue, the patron declined
the request and would not let the issue be put on holdAfter approximately
twenty minutes on the phone, the call was ended and the issue unresolvedOnce
the manager explained the issue to the owner later that night, he wanted to
speak to the patron and resolve the issueOn Sunday evening, April 27th,
the owner left the patron a voicemail stating whom he was and that he would
call again the following dayOn Monday, April 28th he called the
patron back to resolve the issue at handHe explained again the mistake of
missing one of the old wine lists and said it would be no problem at all to
refund the $for the misunderstanding and incorrect prices listedThe
patron then stated she wanted a $refund for “pain and suffering”The owner
declined the $refund because the issue at hand was a simple mistake of
$

Club would like to state that this issue could have been resolved within the
time frame of the patron receiving their bill and paying at the barWe have
reason to believe that the patrons knew about this issue before they left our
establishment because our wine menu is not listed anywhere else but in the
restaurantAs all business owners know, our sole purpose is to make our
customers happy and to enjoy the time spent at our establishmentWe will still
honor our refund of $to the patron for our mistake, but do not feel the
request of $is practical for the issue at hand
